2015 in a nutshell. This last year tried to knock me down repeatedly-but by the grace of God I'm still standing and still holding on, scars and all. Every gain and every loss this year has shaped me a little more, and taught me to hold everything I'm given with an open hand because what I'm given is not permanent, nor fully mine to begin with-my health, my job, my time, my paycheck, my loved ones, even my own life-they belong to God. I'm hoping 2016 will be a year of deeper growth, trust, and obedience in my walk with Christ; greater diligence in starting (and keeping) good godly habits (and killing sinful ones); having more confidence using my gifts as an artist, teacher, writer, and singer/musician; building deeper relationships (and new ones) with those around me; making new disciples that follow the Lord; and stepping out in wholehearted faith in the Lord and His promises, not in bouts of doubt or fear. I know the number of the year doesn't magically create change; faith and consistency does. But by the grace of God, here I go! #2016 #newyearnofear #fearyouarenotwelcomehere (at Saint Louis Chesterfield)
