It’s New Year’s Eve and our Holiday Fear: New Year edition pick number 2 is here with the 1980 film New Year’s Evil starring Kip Niven. I have to admit, I watched this for the first time last year and regretted that so many years have passed without this in my life. I love it and feel any slasher fan needs to see this. The film revolves around killer who calls a radio host during a live New Year’s Eve broadcast warning he will kill a woman when it strikes New Years in every time zone, with the radio host being the final victim. The kills are good, the killer is both complex and unintentionally hilarious, and overall the movie feels like a time capsule to when movies were unapologetically brutal and gritty. Today we are beginning our Holiday Fear: New Year’s edition which will highlight three films that take place on New Year’s Eve. Today’s feature is the 1980 film Terror Train, starring @curtisleejamie and @d_copperfield. This was a fun film that keeps you guessing who the killer is right up until the end. The films begins with a horrible prank pulled at a frat that left at least one individual emotionally scarred. Flash forward and the frat is throwing an epic New Year’s Eve party on a train when someone is picking off the people involved in that prank one by one. While you may be able to figure out who the killer is, how is he blending in so well in these tight quarters??
