HELLO LADIES AND GENTS ! we’ve noticed a bit of a hitch in activity etc. as of late and we’ve decided to formally address it. so, without further ado, below you’ll find a bit of an announcement as well as information about future rule changes.
i. activity – we’re very lax on activity and we always have been. life comes first and writing comes second. this is obvious to us. we’ve had no rules regarding how frequently replies must be posted for the sake of making this a calm and inviting environment. but for the past couple of months, this is a courtesy we feel has been taken advantage of. posting once every few weeks, even once a month, is not alright and especially not in the long run. it stunts development; both your own characters and others, while also making future drops/events in the roleplay near impossible to successfully pull off. it’s difficult to give people the benefit of the doubt when even out of character interactions are kept to a minimum; leaving the admin team in the dark, and confused on whether you’d like to be here or not. therefor, we’ve decided to issue an activity rule, after all. it’s temporary, though, hopefully it’ll amount to something in the time it’s in use. from now on, we’d like to see replies being posted ONCE A WEEK. we’re not asking a lot and we hope you won’t think that we are.
ii. characters – i have, myself, more than a handful of characters. and so do plenty of other people in the roleplay. it’s something we’ve encouraged in the past; having more than one muse, and we’ve never had any qualms about people picking up more than two or three. however, when an abundance of characters is combined with inactivity, it begins to look a whole lot like hoarding of face claims and connections. which is not a good thing, for obvious reasons. we’re not going to make anyone drop their characters. but with the way things are looking, we are encouraging cutting down on your muses – to a manageable number. if you believe with the amount you currently have, the new activity rule will be a toughie, then this is definitely something you should consider. if you missed the statement made in the group chat a few weeks ago, we would also like to repeat that we are still on a character ban; meaning no new characters, regardless of your current number and activity.
iii. interactions – this is a very small group but with plenty of characters. which means you’ve got so many opportunities for connections and interactions beyond the muses of a singular person. we all have people we like writing with, and that’s okay, but what isn’t is excluding of others in the group because of it. we want to see interactions, in character and out of it, between everyone in the roleplay and not a select few. as admins this is incredibly hard to manage so we hope you take this into consideration. plot with everyone, interact with everyone. if you feel left out or aren’t sure on how to proceed in terms of getting new plots/connections, let us know and we’ll happily give you a hand.
iv. in conclusion – we have big plans for this roleplay and we always have. none of that would be possible without the help and participation of you guys. we hope that you don’t find these new rules too strict or unmanageable, because at the end of the day, all we’re really striving for is a good environment and successful group; one that would hopefully last another three years. thanks for taking the time to read this and have a great rest of your night !
