One of my favorite villains is Scar, actually, from The Lion King--he's just so unabashedly bitter and angry and conniving and pretty sadistic and shortsighted and tyrannical and ugh. :')
I'm also a fan of hero-villains like Gregory House. Magnificent, repulsive, twisted beasts.
4. An actress I look up to
Anne Hathaway. What a bamf. She's got the guts and the intelligence not to play into what everyone else expects her to be--she seems to think in the big picture, seems to think about what her roles mean to her and to her audience and seems to reflect heavily on her position in the media and uses her position of power for good instead of self-gain. I ADORE her.
Um. Do I have to pick one?? Too bad. You get three:
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card
The Hundred Secret Senses by Amy Tan
(although I am still COMPLETELY IN LOVE with Ovid's Metamorphoses so maybe #3 could be that instead i don't know)
16. One character I think is misunderstood
The Eleventh Doctor. I'm actually not sure, though, if this is intended on Moffat's part and just taken for granted by the audience, or whether Moffat is (deliberately or otherwise) not touching one very, very potent source of character drama?
Eleven is so very much a "mad man with a box." But in the wake of Nine and Ten, the Time War and everything he's gained and lost since, his character--at least the way I perceive it--should have cracked like an egg. And in some ways I think he has. But the way he handles his relationships contradicts what I see of that in him.
Idk, it's complicated and I don't feel like ranting about Moffat right now, I only think that a more authentic address of Ten's losses could have been made through Eleven, resulting in a consistency and depth of character that lately I don't feel like we're seeing.
22. Favorite type of AU?AUGH I HAVE TO CHOOSE ONE? AUUUGH. I like AUs twice removed, so to speak--I like coffeeshop AUs that have only a tiny coffeeshop element, and are largely something completely else. I'm a HUGE fan of improbable AUs (cough, mostly because I'm jonesing to write my doctor/rose space!AU as soon as I get some free time, lol.), or AUs that on the surface seem to be redundant in light of the show's existing premises. It's worthwhile to dig around until you find something worth telling. A fresh angle, so to speak.
