Switzerland-based startup FinalSpark has developed a unique “living computer” using 16 mini brains made from human brain tissue, positioning it as an alternative to silicon-based computing.
Researchers can remotely access this biocomputer, called Neuroplatform, for studies on artificial intelligence, which typically require significant resources.
FinalSpark’s scientist Ewelina Kurtys believes biological computing uses neurons that consume much less energy than digital processors.
The startup aims to advance biocomputer research and reduce greenhouse emissions while improving AI model generalization through this innovative approach.
