New Nexus content in the big 2026 !!
I love that this new what if episode is so open ended. It left me with a lot more questions than I originally thought it would.
The thing I love most about this episode is that we don't know if Nexus chose to give himself a new name. Atlas' question is left unanswered and Nexus only laughs at his family when they call him Moon, implying that they're wrong.
The timeline is also closer together, what happened in two months, according to the episode, actually spanned nearly five months in the actual show. Now this may be because of filler episodes, but I would find it interesting if infact the Celestial's wrapped up some of their issues faster because of Nexus' absence.
Nexus learning ice magic is also a cool detail, it reflects his nature very well, especially when compared to Sun who specialises in fire magic.
The general wrap up of the episode stays true to its title, Nexus was saved, he was not redeemed. Atlas changed his fate, bringing him away from his family, and away from the clutches of Dark Sun. He managed to stop him from getting even worse, but he could not bring him from the path that Nexus had already set himself down. He returned to his family only to antagonise and threaten them, but the fact that he returned to Atlas afterwards shows his improvement.
