Does Pierre have a backstory? Does he get legs or does he always have a tail?
[Pardon me as I scream for a minute because I always get SO HAPPY when people show interest in my OCs! AAAAAAAAAA-]
Pierre doesn't have a proper backstory yet, but here's some info about him! (and a chibi drawing);
Pierre is a 27-year-old autistic metalhead.
He works as a hairdresser. It's pretty ironic, considering how his own hairstyle looks like...
He's a trans man and currently questioning his sexual/romantic orientation. (He's in the progress of figuring out that he's at least on the asexual spectrum and attracted to men.)
He's tall and tends to have bad posture. His quietness and general looks also make him seem a bit intimidating, but he's very compassionate, cares deeply about other merfolk around him and is passionate about his interests.
Despite of usually being quiet, he loves to talk about plants, algae, metal music and philosophy. He also tends to hum and sing to himself when he feels comfortable.
He doesn't like it when people scream or talk loudly. Ironically, loud music is usually fine (because he can control the volume himself).
About the tail question;
In my OC world, the merfolk are able to switch between a full tail and legs (+ a small tail on their lower back). This transformation can be controlled by owning a tiny magical pearl that's been activated with the blood of the individual merperson who wants to use the pearl for transforming. If the pearl gets lost, the merfolk can easily just buy a new one and get it activated again with their blood. It's a sort of modern fantasy setting!

Also fun fact; merfolk tend to buy pearls that are the same color as their eyes are! This is not necessary, but it's more like a custom. So Neyr's pearl is pink and Pierre's pearl is red-ish brown (and I have never drawn him wearing the pearl as I've just realized LMAO)!
