Alani Ngata still felt deeply that she wanted to continue the discussion of marriage with Kenny. She showed up in the middle of the night at his door, and gave him a kiss when he let her inside.
The couple sat down, and Alani spoke.
"Kenny, I don't mean to put pressure on you to propose or anything. I guess I've just been thinking about how special you are to me. You've been my first everything, and I just can't imagine life without you. It's just how I feel."
Kenny took her hands and said he understood, and wanted to continue talking outside.
The couple sat outside holding hands, and Kenny was admiring her face as a woman appeared. She seemed rich, glamorous, and exactly what Alani expected Kenny to be into. She sat down, shocked, and witnessing what came next.
The woman approached Kenny and took his hands in hers.
"Ken, darling, what are you doing out here so late?"
She glanced at Alani sitting on the bench, before looking back at Kenny.
"Oh, is this your childhood friend? How... cute."
Alani couldn't believe this.
Kenny brushed aside the woman after seeing what was happening. He took Alani's hands in his, and just as he was about to speak, he instead went down on one knee.
"Alani, I... I meant it when I said you're the only one for me. Please believe me. Please marry me."
Alani took the ring, admiring it, and putting it on.
"Kenny, I want to marry you, but... Who was that??"
"She's nobody! It's just... It was a long time ago, before we got together, all we did was kiss. Once. I barely know her, she was also just learning about magic, and I helped her out..."
"So you HAVE been with other people? Obviously it wasn't 'over' if she's still walking up here like this!"
"Alani, as I've promised you, there's no one for me but you. I promise. I'm leaving her behind so we can have our future together. You'll never see her again, I swear on my life."
True to his word, Kenny marched inside with Alani to tell the woman to leave. Kenny had her leave immediately, and instructed her that she has no relationship with him now or ever. She left, and Alani kissed Kenny, her new fiance.
