A Thank You.
It's another year and Covid's still here
The virus that has created such fear.
What about all our tired nurses?
Not paid enough in their purses!
All consultants, doctors doing long shifts
Hoping their concentration never drifts.
Our paramedics go out on each call
Wishing they could save all.
For hours they must wear masks
So uncomfortable, not an easy task
He can't breathe! can't breathe! they despair,
She's going blue! Everyday they care.
The virus has spread very quick
They are so weary but cannot ring in sick.
The media will give the NHS bad press
You think they caused any of this mess?
They ask us, please follow all the rules
Those who do not are total fools.
For all of our amazing NHS staff
I hope you can still have the odd laugh,
Have a coffee or a glass of wine
All of you on the frontline!
And Covid what do you have to say?
Listen, you will NOT beat our teams, OK!
You do try us but soon we will win
Go away, stop causing all this din.
We thank you all so very much
You bring magic in all you touch
After your shift hope you can rest
