He’s a dragonfly who lost his family to infection when he was pretty young (in a nymph form I have yet to figure out how to draw). A family in the City of Tears took him in, but he’s always felt out of place in Hallownest (the dragonflies had been allies of the Pale King, but never official subjects). Did a lot of splashing around in all the water in the city and shocking its residents as a child and was generally viewed as a troublemaker. No one was very surprised when he left the kingdom altogether - not that they considered the decision sane, but it was exactly the kind of outrageous thing he was known to do.
Full-grown, he’s about the size of Markoth (not counting the reach of his wings)
@millie-likes-art I have three! They’re all connected to the fic I’m writing, though I only know what two of them look like so far. Nibb’s a dragonfly raised by a family in the City of Tears after Infection took basically his entire village. I kind of introduced him with a more finished drawing here.
Wax...stole something when he was young, and Radiance has haunted him over it all his life. He hasn’t completely lost himself to the Light yet, though he couldn’t tell you exactly how. Perhaps his dreams are too tangled with regret for her to use them. Or maybe it’s sheer stubbornness. He scavenges and steals to survive, mostly - he’s never had many friends.
Klio will probably be some kind of husk - a child, about (young) vessel-size who’s one of Quirrel’s students.

Nibb’s mask is plain and practical, without detailed engravings like those of many bugs in Hallownest, mostly because it was all he could afford. Over years it’s been scratched and scarred by his adventures, and he’s secretly very proud of it.

Nibb remembers racing through dripping alleyways and shocking bystanders by diving and swimming in the City of Tears. A set of nails forged with his own hands. A meeting in the wasteland. A wedding. A child. His life has had its share of tragedies, but Nibb has good memories.

Wax survives by lying, stealing, and avoiding conflict. He doesn’t think very highly of himself, but is pretty bitter towards Hallownest in general. Sometimes he’s annoyed by his own habit of defaulting to a lie, but on one occasion he told the truth when it really mattered - and it didn’t, because no one believed him.

Klio wants a piggy-back ride. And to give you a hug. And sit on your lap while you tell her a story. And snuggle. Don’t let her, she’ll kick all the blankets off.

Wax is fascinated by magic, charms, and Hallownest ‘technology.’ He likes knowing how things work, though he never had the opportunity or desire for formal schooling.

Nibb is a dragonfly, which puts him larger and stronger than most bugs in Hallownest. He can easily come across as intimidating without really meaning to.
