Yes. Yes it is. It is also the one where the speed of lava is “whatever is narratively convenient” with absolutely no respect for incline.
Also all the actual lava footage they included was at least 2.5 speed. It is... more viscous than that. If your lava acts like water you’re wrong.

Dante's Peak is a good Volcano movie.
Dante’s Peak is an excellent volcano movie. I love it. Don’t get me wrong, its science is terrible, but at least they’re consistent.
Meanwhile we’ve got Volcano over here like “Hmmm... what kind of eruption? Plinian! No, Strombolian! No, Hawaiian! All at once!”
Also there was zero continuity with the ash thing and it irritated me. At least in Dante’s Peak when it gets dark it stays dark (as it should).
Also also at the end of Volcano when it starts to rain and they’re all standing there covered in ash and laughing? Did somebody say chemical burns?
