❛ don’t touch me. ❜ cody @ jazzy
three word starters.
with her hand still stretched out towards him, she stops dead in her movement. then, almost defeated, she pulls back and nods. “ okay. ” ( jazzy isn’t going to overstep his boundaries, isn’t going to make him feel worse if she can avoid it. ) her voice is nothing more than a whisper, but somehow she feels like even that might have been too much. ( was it too much ? are you too cautious ? are you scared ? ) the females gaze is still fixed on him, trying to assess the situation, trying to read him. ( it’s kind of s i l l y of her, really, she can try and try as much as she likes, but cody is GOOD at being unpredictable. she can’t read him, can only try and hope for the best. ) “ i won’t. ” and with that, jazzy decides to sit down opposite of him, a couple of feet away. her eyes don’t want to leave his figure, but somehow she manages to tear her gaze off of him to give him some more space, some privacy in a rare vulnerable moment.
with her head now thrown back and her eyes staring at the ceiling, she bites down on her lip. ( should she say something else ? is there even anything that she can say to ease the panic in his eyes, in his fingers, in his veins ? ) jazzy can hear his breathing going faster than usual, filling the entire room with tension. it’s not a pretty sight, seeing cody ( out of all people ) going through a panic attack —- it’s unsettling, it’s worrying, it’s alarming. she can’t get it out of her head, the way f e a r was written all over his face ; how distorted all of this seemed. there was almost something feral about it, something so unusual that it left her stomach in KNOTS.
“ i’ll — be here, you know. you’ll be okay. i won’t leave you alone. ”
the words slip out of her mouth before she can even think about them, and for just a second, she tils her head to glance at him. ( does she WANT to see his reaction ? is he even going to react at all ? ) but before there’s even any reaction from his side, she looks back up. giving him as much ‘ privacy ’ as she can without actually leaving him alone —- because there’s no way that jazzy is going to leave him alone in a moment like that. ( he deserves that ; having somebody to take care of him. even if he doesn’t want to, even if he doesn’t think he does —- she knows he does. )
