Emerald eyes shot wide open; a sight of unfamiliar, barren ceiling staring back at them.
Where am I?
Heavy lids shut back tight in an attempt to jog her memory, but all she could see was the unsettling glimpse of her master, coughing up blood from the clean cut of his gut from the quincy’s blow.
Oh yeah... That’s right. The fight with the ryoka.
Now she remembered. All the pain she had to endure on her way back to her quarter... Despite telling the four-eyed boy to leave her be and that her squad members would come to her rescue... She couldn’t just stay there, letting those low-ranked subordinates see her in such a helpless state and basically shaming her creator now, could she? So if dragging the lump of a mess that she was could help save his face in any way, then dragging the lump of a mess that she was shall she do.
But then, everything quickly faded to black when she fell to the ground in one swift movement; her body lacking the blood necessary to meet her brain’s demand to maintain consciousness.
The recollection still doesn’t answer her first question, though: Where am I?!
It was only when she sensed the healer’s reiatsu coming closer and his figure soon came into vision that the question finally escaped her lips:
“Where...am I?”
❛ You are very kind, Yamada-kun. ❜ despite being broken & wounded, Hinamori insists on smiling at the healer as she speaks, honesty embellishing her weakened vocals. this boy has been nothing but helpful & compassionate towards the fifth’s Lieutenant during these tragic times of convalescence inside the walls of the fourth division. abused. lied to. manipulated. these words keep assaulting the peach’s mind over & over again, breaking her spirit from the very core. how could she have been so absurd? but then again... what if this is still part of her beloved Captain’s plan? what if there was a bigger goal to all this? it’s not the time!
immediately shaking the sudden thoughts away with the shake of black locks, she proceeds: ❛ Thank you for all your care... and for pretty much everything else. ❜

H itsugaya’s cryptically personal affinity to earthly human merchandise such as graphic novels, more so the Batman series, a tale of an upholder of equity protecting, outright spiting government laws ‘neath his own morals, the defenseless in a faulty metropolis identified as Arkham, was something he had ingrainedly thought was wholly secreted from any outsider‘s knowledge apart from his overly prying lieutenant. Yet here, situated in parallel planes of his forefront, Hanataro was stiffly residing, a mediocre-stature plush of the valiant man slackened ‘gainst their palm and docile fingers as it extended forward for the captain to acquire. --- Uncertain, his ocular application rests fixated on the officer. profoundly within the pillar girdling his heart is the urge to accept the impromptu offering -- but alas doing so would be an act of utmost irregularity. -- He did not aspire for this man, nor for anyone, to be more precise, to discover this liking was, indeed, one of verity. - Thus, lips, parched by tea scarcity, had pressed their pallid tiers momentary ‘fore partitioning to exhale an unabashed decision.
“ -- I’d advise you not to approach me as if I was a child, Yamada. “
@nicetryshyguy asked:
Did Shinji have a job when he lived in the Human world? If he could have one occupation other than Soul Reaper, what would it be?
...Yes, Shinji did have a job back when he lived in the Living World. Or rather, many jobs. All short-termed, contract based due to the nature of what he is, as opposed to the relatively transient lives of the humans around him. I.e., he does not, cannot, stay in one place for too long, lest the fact that he is not aging like everyone else around him gives his true identity away.
The easiest type of work to find are always those involved with the spiritual world, dangerous as it is at times because of the higher risk of accidental contact with Shinigami, but usually very fruitful. Exorcisms and hollow slaying, saving humans from being haunted by things that they know not about, and getting recompensed well for fulfilling those endeavors. The work is straightforward enough and the money is usually good, and it also helps to fund the daily living expenses of the Visoreds as a whole, so he does not regret what he has to do in order to help keep them all afloat in this world.
If he can have one occupation other than Soul Reaper, he’d choose to be a professional slacker. Just whiling lazy days away collecting copious amounts of rare and limited edition vinyl records, spending his time finding and restoring old, antique gramophones and record players, then lovingly finding new homes for his babies - that will be a good, satisfying existence for him, he thinks.
Hanataro wasn't entirely sure what to make of the large, red haired man. he was a touch intimidating, he had to admit. Yet the little healer kept that to himself as he approached the quincy. He bowed slightly to the stranger before presenting him with a small box full of sugar cookies. "Um... I-I didn't know if you had a-allergies, so I kept it simple," he explained before he scurried off, his bravery used up for the time being.
The presence of a Shinigami was rarely cause for concern, but what bothered Bazz-B the most was this no-name, random guy. Lieutenants and Captains should be afraid to approach him– how quickly had he dismantled them in the past? Scowling as this timid little worm approached, there was confusion as a box was thrust into his arms, the Shinigami taking to his senses and fleeing.
Turning the package over a few times, the words echoed in his mind. Allergies? Opening it up, his mouth dropped at the sight. Cookies. The Shinigami had.. baked him cookies? Turning back to watch the sight of the fleeing kid, his face screwed up in confusion.
Were they poisonous, or did Bazz-B have an admirer..?

“Seriously… ?? This again. Why do I gotta compliment a shinigami – ugh… Fine. Uhh… I like… yer brownies. Oh wait, it gotta be about you, specifically… huh?”
What did she like about Hanataro? In fact, what even did Hanataro like about Hanataro?
He was a skinny, weak and silly shinigami. Almost comical…
But he was brave.
“Ya stand up for what ya think is right. Ya got balls, kid.”

Send “Shield” for my muse’s reaction to yours placing themselves between my muse and danger.
That was brave of him... even if it was a little stupid. She looked at him, with an oddly concerned expression.
“Hey I was gonna be okay, ya know?”
Kenpachi would have shown up sooner or later. But now this guy had to go and get himself involved. Yachiru frowned, clearly upset by this outcome.
