Anita would probably hate it if her friends found out why she REALLY had to move there from Milwaukee. The accident wasn’t (entirely) her fault, and her friend eventually made a full recovery, but the stigma and rumors forced her and her family out of town

Nick’s only secret is that he’s gay, and he really only keeps that from his family. His favourite color is green, like baby leaves

Demetri is trans and her sister is depressed, but pretty much the only people who don’t know that are her parents. Her favourite color is sky blue

Nero’s sister was murdered by her boyfriend three or four years ago. The guy was caught and charged, but sometimes when his mind is being mean Nero worries that he could become just as bad as that guy

Emerald doesn’t really have any bad secrets, so favourite color it is. Emerald really likes red, cherry red, there’s a reason she uses them in baking so much

Anthony doesn’t really have any secrets anymore. After getting shot all of his secrets became more than public knowledge, they became newspaper material. His favourite color is bright dandelion yellow, or maybe green like pine trees

Cecilia would probably be horrified if anyone found out she actually cares about the idiot gang. But seriously, her only defense against her emotions is her apathetic exterior, having to acknowledge that she cares would SHATTER her

Lena again doesn’t really have any secrets, at least none she’d be devastated if anyone found out. Her favourite color is also purple, same as her hair

Anita drinks a lot of tea and eats a lot of roasted vegetables. She actually has a vegetable garden that she maintains to help keep her family’s food costs down. But her favourite food is probably apples

Nick is an absolute cliche farm boy. He likes mashed potatoes and gravy and grits. He’s also got a soft spot for mint chocolate chip ice cream

Demetri doesn’t really have a favourite food, but her favourite drink is hot chocolate because her sister used to make it for her a lot when they were kids

Nero LOVES really crappy Mexican food, if he could he’d have microwave burritos and enchiladas for every meal. He’s got that teenage boy diet where he eats anything and everything

Emerald drinks coffee like her life depends on it, especially during tech week and band season. As for food, she really likes baking and baked goods, especially chocolate cake

Anthony has the sweet tooth to end all sweet tooth’s, boy would survive on candy if he could, but he has to make do with fruit (mostly bananas) instead. Same as Nero he’s got that teenage boy appetite

Cecilia likes to say that she only likes things that are as dark and bitter as her soul, but in reality she’s a giant weeb. Girl is out here eating mochi and pocki unironically. She also really likes toast, cause it was the first thing she cooked after moving out

Lena is CONSTANTLY eating, no lie, and her palette isn’t that picky. The day you see her without a bag of Cheetos in her hand is the day she dies

So... What can you tell us about Dimitri? What is she like?

Demetri! My sweet sunshine daughter!

Demetri is 17 at the time of the story, same as the rest of the cast, and her birthday is in June. She lives with her abusive and conservative parents, along with her older sister Azalea. Because of this, even though Demetri has known she’s amab for years, she keeps her hair short, dresses masculinely, and goes by a male name to stay safe at home

Even after moving out when she turns 18 (and moving in with Cecilia) she still ends up going by Demetri

She has been dating Nero for about four years (they’ve been together the longest out of the couples) but her parents don’t know. They just think Nero’s one of her guy friends, because why would a man ever date another man?

She used to have a crush on Nick when she was in elementary school with him, but since then they’ve just been really close friends. Before meeting Cecilia in highschool, Demetri used to stay overnight at Nick’s farm when her parents got too bad

Nick’s parents are also conservative, but they’re more conservative for taxes and what not than human rights. So while they don’t really get the whole transgender/gay thing, they don’t say anything about it

Demetri has a SEVERE anxiety disorder which is largely untreated, again, due to her parents, but Nero’s dad (the school nurse) does what he can to make sure Demetri and her friends know how to calm her out of a spiral. He can’t prescribe her anything as the school nurse, but he does his best

Cecilia is mostly on the outside of the group for a long time, not even really being friends with any of them. The first one she admits to being friends with is Demetri, because Demetri basically just wouldn’t leave her alone in her attempts to be nice

If your OCs had semblances, what would they be?

Okay, so Anita’s Semblance is really similar to Marrow’s, but she has to touch the person/Grimm to make it work. The upside is she doesn’t need to concentrate on them to keep them immobilized. She can only use it on one or two people at a time

Nick is real basic, he gets strength from fire and flames, like Nora with lightning. Uses a lot of fire dust in his weapons

Demetri has super speed similar to Ruby in that she turns into a bolt of lightning when she moves instead of rose petals. She mostly uses it to stay away from enemies, preferring to attack from a distance instead of hand to hand

Nero’s Semblance isn’t very useful in Grimm combat, just against people. He can change his physical appearance to look like anyone, but only himself, not his clothes

Emerald can change the air pressure around her which she mostly uses to soften falls or slow attacks. Her Semblance has a VERY limited range though

Anthony’s Semblance let’s him take on the injuries of people he’s bonded with and transfer them through him to people he’s fighting. He can’t do it for very long though, because the more people he’s bonded with the faster his Aura runs out

Cecilia’s is a more mental Semblance than physical. If she concentrates on someone, she can temporarily impose or enhance certain emotions in them, like making them angry or sad or happy

Lena is a shark Faunus, and she’s definitely the brawler of the group. Her Semblance makes it so that the more hits she takes, the faster she moves. She doesn’t hit any harder, but she can certainly hit MORE, and sometimes that’s all you need

Ramblings about my OCs under the cut, because I have MANY thoughts, head full

First of all, all of my OCs are in highschool in the American school system, Junior or sophomore year. This is also the age when I first made them, so they’ve got a lot of me in them. They also were all originally Homestuck OCs that were based on some of my friends, but they have since shifted away from that

Anita is a short Chinese American girl. She’s got round red glasses and long black hair, and generally doesn’t put up with the nonsense of her friends. She’s dating Emerald and mostly is considered the dad friend of the group. She moved to the town about a year or two before after an accident at her old school made her family have to move. She uses ASL to communicate after the accident left her unable to speak. Because of said accident, she generally prefers non-physical confrontations

Nick is a tall relatively well built Irish boy. He’s got rectangular glasses, short ginger hair, and a truly outrageous amount of freckles. He’s a running back on the school football team and he’s dating Anthony. He has a big family and he lives with them on their rabbit farm a few miles out of town. His family is fairly conservative and only his older brother knows that he’s gay, so his relationship with Anthony has to remain visibly platonic at his home. He has issues with his temper and is easily riled into anger by his friend’s stupid bits

Demetri is a VERY short Northern European mixed girl. She currently has short fluffy blonde hair that used to be long and up in pigtails, a stupid amount of freckles, and big blue eyes. She’s transgender, amab, and she still goes by her birth name because her parents are a pair of abusive assholes. Her hair was longer early in the story, but her parents cut it when they found out. She’s mostly a precious cinnamon roll sunshine child, and her boyfriend Nero loves her dearly

Nero is an average height Italian-Native American mixed boy. He’s got curly auburn hair that you see zero amount of the time because he constantly wears a baseball hat. He’s gender fluid but generally goes by he/him pronouns. He’s that friend that uses memes and humor to lighten the mood and distract from any problems he might be going through. He’s got an older brother, and an older sister who died before the story began

Emerald is a tall Haitian/African American girl. She has kinky black hair that she styles into an Afro style and bright green eyes. She’s not really one of the popular kids, but she’s one of those kids that the popular kids respect. She generally dresses in pretty old fashioned clothes alla the 70’s 80’s. She’s dating Anita and is DEFINITELY the mom friend in the group. Like she legit Carrie’s a first aid kit in her bag. She’s been friends with Anthony since before they can both remember and she learned first aid because of him

Anthony is a tall scrawny European mutt, but he’s culturally Italian. He wears thick square glasses that he replaces often because they keep breaking. He has short fluffy brown hair and teal eyes. He is very openly gay, and this gets him pretty badly bullied by some of Nick’s teammates. He’s a meme boy similar to Nero, but he mostly uses his jokes to distract his friends from worrying about his injuries. He looks VERY twinkish and is incredibly accident prone

Cecilia is a very tall Puerto Rican girl. She has thick framed hipster glasses. Half of her head is shaved and the other half is long and curly dark brown. She pretends to hate most of the others and the only one she’ll admit to liking is Demetri. Legit very depressed, she’s the classic high school loner who makes “I want to die” jokes that don’t sound like jokes. She knows everyone and everything and mostly just broods in the back of the room on her phone and pipes up with comments that are concerningly accurate

Lena is African-American, although she has some Scottish from her mom’s side. She has naturally burnt orange hair that she has in purple dyed dreads. She’s a cheerleader for the football team but she’s also in like a million other sports as well. She’s that person who wears shorts and tank tops no matter how cold it is. She has a friendly rivalry with Nick and delights in getting him pissed off. Her family owns the town’s aquarium and she can’t wait for her older sister to take over the company so she can stop pretending to care about it. She regularly gets into fights to defend her friends’ honor, and insists that she’s Cecilia’s best friend
