@BuckGrayhall reviews the short film Opacity from director Nick Testa.
"The film is one big metaphor about the feeling of invisibility in today’s society."
Short Film Review: Opacity
Nick Testa's Short Film Opacity, applies a new twist on the old boy-meets-girl story that feel fresh.
Poster for Opacity, written and directed by Nick Testa. From IMDb.com
Everyone, at one point or another, has felt invisible in the world. Nothing they do can proof that they’re actually worth something; I’m still that phase of my life now. Being invisible isn’t always a bad thing, right? You can sneak in banks, stores, and parks without anyone knowing you were there. In Nick Testa’s short film Op…

Angels and Demons - Thank You's
Hi lovies,
The music video finally launched. I can't believe it. I'm on VEVO and I'm an independent artist. I just can't believe some of the things I've been able to accomplish without a record label. I want to thank everyone involved in the making of the song and music video. To one of my best friends Melanie Fontana who also happens to be an incredible vocalist and songwriter, thank you for the inspiration. To my producer Stefan Moessle for understanding my vision and taking it to the next level. I couldn't have done this without you. Chris Carraciolo, your guitar skills are sick dude. I am so glad Dan told me about you. Your talent and creativity was superb and necessary in this song. To the music video director Nick Testa, I'm so glad we met and you brought a great concept to the video that made sense and looks amazing. You rock!
To Nikki T (accessories), Laura Moreno (designer), Minah Lee (stylist) and Jasmine Goodman (hair and makeup artist); Thank you for making me look incredible!
Jordan Trimas (photographer for single cover) and Danielle Epolite (hair dresser color and style), Thank you for the visual expression and the direction of my image. It is so effin awesome! Danielle, my hair color is just sick!
To my fans, you guys, seriously, how could I ever be an artist without you? I've been on such a long journey and you guys have stuck by me and if you're a new fan, thank you so much for listening and supporting my music.
I can't wait to see you all this summer! The tour I promise will be awesome!
"Angels and Demons" Video Shoot
Hi lovies,
I know I've been terrible at keeping this blog updated. I'm so sorry for not giving it more attention. Things have been really crazy and I thought to myself "Well, maybe I should update my blog today.". So how have you guys been doing?! I wanted to show you some pictures and a short video from behind the scenes at the video shoot to my single "Angels and Demons". Right now we are getting ready to edit it so it will be a while before it launches. The actual single launch date isn't set yet but we are shooting towards the end of April. With that said, the music video should be on online towards the end of March.
We are working really hard to bring you an awesome video and I'm super excited to see the final outcome. Let me just tell you a little bit about the history of what went on during the shoot...
First of all, it was SUPER cold on location! I mean, so cold that my fingers were turning PURPLE!!! YES, PURPLE!!! Mina (the stylist) and Jasmine (makeup artist) had to huddle over to help me get warm in between takes. We were all cold but I was the only one basically exposed to the wind and cool temperatures. Everyone else had a coat! :P
We filmed one scene at Twin Peaks in San Francisco and that was probably the coldest set. It's where my fingers turned a slight hue of purple. The view from there was SICK! I could not believe just how beautiful the bay area really was until we went there. After that, we went towards the Pacific to shoot some B roll film and more beauty shots.
The day before we shot at the director's house the "argument" scene. This is where I'm supposed to have a "cat and mouse" type of argument with my love interest Evan. Evan was really funny and cool. We definitely made each other laugh between takes because we were complete strangers and had just met when he came on set so it was a little hard to be angry at someone when you never even had a formal introduction on a separate day. It was like: "Ok Evan, be angry at Melissa and Melissa, be angry back" and the magic had to just happen.
From there we went somewhere in San Fran and shot in front of this awesome wall that was completely painted with some cool bright colors. It really worked the contrast with my black wardrobe (sexy dress with sexy boots). We had some Latin girls next to us at one point taking funny pictures of themselves in front of the wall because that wall was just cool like that. They kept on jumping to catch a photograph mid-air. LOL
And last but not least, we went to Treasure Island. Now, this island has an amazing view of the city skyline but it also had some interesting and weird folks just hanging on the boardwalk. They seemed out of place...not tourists and not working...just weird locals that were making interesting conversations in different languages. Hehe.
Well, I think that sums it up. I'm pretty sleepy right now but check out some of the pics below and the video. I hope you are just as excited as I am to see this video completed!!!
xoxo,
Melissa

In this second BEAUTIFUL episode of Quinterviews, i quinterview my great bud Nick "Nightbeast" Testa. He was in my computer and he talks about writing songs and inspiration. He also says "that's awesome" a bunch of times. He has a cool laugh. This episode also features a very touching tribute to an NBA legend.
