And I still wonder if you can identify the exact moment you fall in love with someone. If you plotted your affections for someone on a time line, a colorful posterboard presentation with a big grey area labeled "not in love" and a big yellow area labeled "in love," it seems to me that there must be some moment when you cross over from one area to the next.

The thing about impossible love is that even when you are physically alone you have the comfort of your own delusional beliefs. Those give shape to the world, but when you start to let go of those delusions, everything feels empty and inert, like Frankenstein’s monster without the lightning.
