So what? Woi. Destiny’s Child, Bug-A-Boo X Intalekt & R-Kay = the biggest remix you’ve heard in a minute. This is second remix from the two ORPHGANG producers, following their equally infections version of Brandy’s ‘What About Us’. Is there more on the way? 👀 On repeat. If you are yet to hear their last remix, check What About Us here Check out more Intalekt music here Check out more R-Kay music here
Sat 11th & Sun 12th June // Victoria Park, East London Sat = £54,50 Sun = £49.50 Weekend = £94 Tradition has it that British summer time is jam packed w/ an array of generic music festivals, normally both over priced and un-impressive. However, this can not be considered one of them. With the most genuinely curated line in clear sight within London town, Field Day is different.
WHEN the clock ticks June, it's officially festival season as far as I'm concerned. With this in mind, I'm looking at the Field Day line up as we speak. I like rap, thus my mouth is instantly watering over Saturday 11th June, 2016. Top of my list of artists playing on the first day of Field Day is Roots Manuva. A UK legend, who has topped a monumental career with last years amazing album 'Bleeds'. I'll be revisiting this album and suggest you do too. This WILL BE a highlight. Speaking of highlights, Little Simz will also take to the stage. She's dropped at least four STRONG EPs in the last couple of years, topped by 2015s 'A Curious Tale Of Trials And Persons'. These two bookings epitomise the different tip that Field Day is on compared to other festivals, as they look to keep us on our toes with forward thinking movements on another level. They haven't made safe Capital Radio themed bookings, and it's mint.
THERE’s also man of the moment Skepta. Amongst all the hype I'm genuinely excited to see and hear live renditions of tracks from new album Konnichiwa. Obviously in London Skepta will be eager to impress, so I’m expecting alot. It's also key to note that BBK compadre Frisco is on the bill, performing signature flows and tracks from the recently released System Killer. If this was enough hard hitting rap, Novelist is also booked to bring his Ruff Sound movement to East London. It seems likely / I hope tht Novelist will make an appearance on Skepta's set too. Lyrics for lyrics, calm. IF the weight noted above is all a little too much (it's fine, I understand), there's also some less heavy but equally great rap in the form of the ever experimental hip hopper Rejjie Snow, and fast rising Loyle Carner, to name a few. Not to be missed.
RAP aside, another obvious highlight is James Blake playing new music from 'The Colour In Anything'. James Blake ladies and gents - in the Sun, if all goes well. I’ve just realised that after all this time I’ve never seen our James play a live set. Potentially the biggest booking in the game. I'm also overly keen to catch a glimpse of Gold Panda, who's kooky i-dont-know-what-genre-this-is-anymore style beats are sure to cause a stir a la dance. The same can be said for Four Tet and Plastician. To top off everything, they will be showing England Vs Russia on a big screen. 11th June hurry along now please.
THE second day of the festival is also not to be sniffed at (PJ Harvey alert), however I will – as usual, be broadcasting live on Reprezent 107.3FM playing Essential Hip Hop and talking about the previous days antics. Missing day two of this musical extravaganza is of course shite, but where better to be then on the radio ey?!

In the back of the whip....
This slipped under my radar for ages, so in compensation it’s now getting daily spins. The very talented Bobii Lewis of LDN goes in over a sick production from SRNO, of everyone's favourite Amsterdam. Sampling Dej Loaf’s infectious debut by the same name.
Check Soundcloud for more Bobii Lewis here Same for SRNO, but here
