The TØP Albums as Types of Love
Self Titled: The 'I want to die, and so do you, but I really, really need you alive, so let's just both not' sentiment. Sad love songs. Young, burning, already broken lovers. "You're my reason to live." Learning to love their flaws. Loving them for their habits, and their subconscious. Unseeing and enamored. "We are so fucked." Crash-and-burn mindsets. Tragic love.
Regional at Best: The admiration of someone who doesn't think they're worth admiration. Proving that you won't break their heart. Being that sort of soft, dull melancholy together, and knowing that it doesn't mean you aren't in love. "I love you, for everything you are, and everything we could never be." Trusting love.
Vessel: Really, really wanting to feel attraction for them, but not being able to. The sort of ex that you love as a person but broke up with because there was no passion. "I am so in love with your mind." "I am afraid of everything but you." Being made at home by a person. Being comforted, and reminded of your worth. Safe, comfortable, forgotten love.
Blurryface: Acceptance. "You know how fucked up I am, and you're still here." Well bonded, willing to overcome. "Without you, I wouldn't be here." Going through a lot, and being stronger because of it. Seeing the absolute lowest of a person's morale, and staying. Knowing as much about them as you know about your self, or nearly so. "I would die for you, but more than that, I would live for you." Living for someone. Understanding love.
Trench: Self sacrifice. "You deserve so much better, but you're here, and I love you for it." Worshiping perfect-imperfections. "You're my everything." Realistic goals. Knowing what they need, but knowing that you don't know better than they do. Making big decisions together. Thinking of them before you think of yourself. Selfless love.
