Vince sighed again and leaned forward, his unruly silver hair flopping down over his eyes. Nick thought about reaching over and brushing it away from his face. His mind flashed to the previous night, his hand cradling Vince’s head, imagining how it would feel to run his hand through his hair. He wanted to. He knew he shouldn’t.
He felt, more than saw, Vince cast his gaze towards him.
“How much did you hear?”
Nick froze. His blood felt like ice. He could feel it pulsing through his boy with every thunderous beat of his traitorous heart. Sometimes, it was exhausting to keep track of all the things he wanted, but shouldn’t.
