genovia au dates  

this literally started w/ me trying to figure out the timeline based on the actual movies. then because my brain is my brain, it evolved them going in different dates throughout the timeline (first two posted stories) and beyond (all that’s planned oh god). all but not limited to are the following date ideas: 

joe taking nicky out on a date when they first go to joe’s home kingdom

joe and nicky having dinner with nasima (yusuf’s sister) for the first time

double date with mama and baba

double date with mia and nicholas

double date with clarisse and joseph

a san francisco date, when they go with mia to visit her mom - also includes elio and ayla meeting their uncle/cousin trevor

joe nicky scarf 

this is being written for my friend my muse @kingyusuf. i asked them for a prompt and she gave me this from this list: 

“i still have your sister’s scarf and i know it’s stupid but i’ve been hoping maybe one day you’ll come by and pick it up so we’ll be forced to talk again because i haven’t seen you in months and i’m maybe kinda sorta still in love with you” AU

so yes, a post-break up joe x nicky hurt/comfort that includes nicky and nile as roommates, nile being the most amazing friend ever, good intentions with ill results, yearning, yearning, yearning, pain and what i hope is an eventual happy ending because i am going for hurt/comfort and not angst

Hi Hegel! Thank you so much and sorry in advance for long rambly answers but you picked two good ones ;)

5 - Do you listen to music when writing?

Yes! That’s because sometimes I get ~ideas when listening to a song, or they just capture a feeling that I want to convey in a scene really well for me, and then I tend to put them on in a loop in the background until they put me in a bit of a meditative state and I can just narrow in on the scene that they inspired. (Sometimes it’s the other way around and I’ll listen to a song after plotting a scene, and then it becomes the soundtrack for it.)

I also tend to have playlists for every fic that I write, and I tend to include a link to them when I publish even though I know it’s cringe, but I personally love it when other people do - pretty sure half the music I listened to as a teenager I found about this way - so why not? ;)

21 - Is there an idea you’ve always wanted to write, but haven’t yet?

Okay, so. “Always” may be a strong word for it, but. I have a whole Lockdown!AU plotted out. (I have a playlist for it, too.) I even have half the trigger warning that probably needs to go with it drafted, because I’m also writing my thesis on the impact this whole pandemic is having on mental health, and I’m pretty sure that even really fluffy fic can hit too close to home.

But I guess that’s precisely the problem. I can see the whole fic really clearly, and it would be exactly the kind of absurd rom-com fun I love to read about, but yeah. Whenever I try to actually write it I am on the verge of tears all of a sudden (I thought it would be cathartic, lol) so it might be a while until that one gets written. (If it gets written.)
