The Lemon of Pink - The Books Now that The Books discography is being reissued again, I'm trying to fill out my collection. Lemon of Pink is one of my favourite releases by them (there are no bad ones really). One of the most amazing aspects of The Books is their use of micro-samples. The narratives and images they evoke with such small bits of sound calls to mind the works of great impressionists. Especially their ability to incorporate "non-musical" elements. It's almost a musique concrete but with melody and harmony. They can make a human conversation alien or a automated announcement human again. Really loving the revamped art on these reissues, especially the poster.
