@nicolaruth27 Thank you! I’ll see if that works next time I post. :) (And now I feel very ignorant if all that busy work could’ve been remedied by simply changing that darn button... oh well. You live you learn, eh?)

nicolaruth27 replied to your photoset “Hanssen to Jac (s13e34): Surströmming. It’s a Swedish delicacy....”
He wouldn't be unaffected by it though surely? Even natives who eat it on the regular open the can underwater to contain the stench and wash it to the point of it being remotely edible, or so I've learned from watching a shit ton of those weird food travel shows.
Good point! None of the other Swedish visitors were too affected either.
I was thinking more of the point that Hanssen had been in the UK for such a long time (education + work), even if it was shipped from Sweden, he won’t eat it regularly. He would have reeked.
Honestly I think your relationship with your wife is wonderful and I’m very envious of your unfailing support of her fic writing (and vice versa I would imagine). Mutual support and encouragement of hobbies and suchlike is heartwarming to me. My wife couldn’t be less interested in anything I’ve written (which admittedly isn’t very much) but I sometimes think I’d write more or have more motivation if I had a cheerleader like that. It’s very sweet to see so many supportive posts.
Vice versa is definitely true. She is my number one champion in every aspect of life. She has a sense of completely undeserved inferiority about her writing and needs to be pushed into posting everything, but I don’t let her get away with any nonsense ;-)
It must be hard if your partner doesn’t share your particular interest. I think @kooili158 and I are lucky because we met writing fic so it’s always going to be part of our relationship. Less lucky in that she lived on another continent back then and we lived apart for 7 years!
Stay tuned for more sickly sweet lovey dovey posts because I can’t help myself. And of course we’re going to write together for the first time - super exciting!
The word Dream for the WIP thingy please. :D
She was like something out of a dream, a fantasy. And she was currently looking at Bernie like she was a particularly delectable treat to be devoured.
[guess a word from a WIP…]

This is gorgeous Daisy!
Thank you :) I’m glad you like it!
nicolaruth27 replied to your post “so like does anyone want an update on what im working on??? cause uhhh...”
Where/how do you get your HD screen caps? I struggle to find clear shots sometimes.
most of what i work with is not actually hd actually. i make all my own caps with gom player and i dl vids from here or from the berena playlist on youtube which has a couple of hd vids (both kiss moments are hd!) (i recommend freemake video downloader to download those). last but not least, i occasionally throw caps up here upon request
and other than that, ive been working with 240p most of the time. it will really help if you work with smaller cap sizes (268 or 177 wide). and then colouring will help as will the occasional reduce noise action.
good luck friend!!!
Cool Asks for Fic Writers- Answers
@nicolaruth27 asked me to answer 2, 3, and 4.
2. Is there any specific ritual you go through while/before/after your writing?
Nothing specific in the sense that I must do these things to write. I do listen to music the majority of the time, but that might be due to the fact I write at the local coffee shop the majority of the time. :) I generally write long-hand in a book, which helps me focus (can’t get distracted by the internet if I’m not on a computer), but also gives me a sense of accomplishment and creates goals. I can see how many pages I’m filling and I know approximately how many words fit on a page. So with that in mind, I can set goals and know how much more I need to do/how much I’ve done.
3. What is your absolute favorite kind of fic to write?
I don’t know how to answer that question. I’ve written all kinds, from long case-files to short slice-of-life fics. I’ve written AUs where the characters are in canon but their world is not (”Resurgo” my Rizzoli & Isles zombie fic), and AUs where you recognize the characters but they’re completely out of their world (”The Broken Places” which was a Pacific Rim/Rizzoli & Isles crossover). I suppose the best response is, I like drama stories. Not big on character death, stories that involve the character having a baby, or reverting the characters to their teen years.
4. Are there any other fic writers you admire? If so, who and why?
Oh, you must know this is a loaded question. :p
Let me say this much- I admire writers who stick to their vision and don’t pander to the audience. I admire writers who work at getting better. I admire writers who challenge themselves to work outside of their comfort zone. I admire writers who have the self-discipline to work through a writer’s block and finish that chapter. I admire writers who tell a story about the characters, not about themselves.
I won’t avoid the question entirely, and will offer two authors:
G.L Dartt who used to write Bad Girls fic:

And Rhiannsu, who used to write Doggett/Scully fic:

WIP guessing game: Powerful
“You’re beautiful.” You say it with the quiet power of sincerity.
Or, from another fic:
She pressed a thumb intotorn tissue and let her power wash outward.

Believe it or not, the word powerful is not in any (unpublished) parts of my fanfiction WIPs. These are the closest I could find.
