One of those sunny days I went around Frankfurt Niedwald by bike. What you can see here once was part of River Nidda. Nowadays it’s a lakelike thing. Around here you can calm down. Niedwald is still full of green garlic, what is the reason for the area smelling like a garlic field every springtime… Niedwald itself is the all that’s left from a far bigger forest, reaching once from Vogelsberg to Frankfurt Höchst…

Confluence of the river Nidda into the river Main in Höchst, western Frankfurt. Funfact: the largest part of Frankfurt is basically on the hill between the valleys of those two rivers.
