Very excited to finally have these two incredible stories on my shelves, and grateful to the author for having written them. Some extra glamour shots and writing below the cut like always

The bookcloth is plain linen bookcloth that I've painted with gold and bronze fabric paint and set with an iron. I struggled for a while to decide what materials this should be done with, and ran some experiments that all kind of blew up in my face lol. Sometimes the tried and true is such for a reason.

The top endbands are sewn with a single strand of satin finish cotton sewing thread, around a worsted weight cotton yarn core coated with PVA glue. The bottom, 'golden' endbands are sewing with a single strand of yellow polyester thread, so that it can be kinda shiny looking.

And a cheeky little video to show the insides, including original art. The fonts used were Century for the main body, and Calfine for the decorative. Thanks for lookin!

Life, death, the trail. AU of El Dorado (1966 dir Howard Hawks) that I've butchered beyond belief. If you like a piece of dialogue, it's likely Leigh Brackett wrote it. And if you find some of the medical stuff improbable, well, I'll send you her way again. Set in Texas 1880.

This is such an epic fic. Seeing familiar dialog recast in 1880's speech is a delight. Go read this right now!

i have been obsessed with the idea of sam and dean replacing the sisters in FEAR STREET: 1978 ever since i saw it!!! i think there's something really compelling about plopping them down in a survival situation, hence why that hunger games au fic is so popular (even if i'm too scared to read it hahaha). it would be fairly easy-- the characters are already siblings, and while their dynamic is reversed with the older sister being the studious one who wants to escape while the younger sister is the one who's pessimistic, 'don't forget you're here forever,' bad luck with school, etc., you still have the older sister being more loyal to their parents and authority in general while the younger sister nurses that rebellious streak. and of course they kiss.

Happy Wincest Wednesday friend! Oh ho, great question. As characters in an AU or where they are hunting as themselves?

I think you can guess my AU answer but gotta be Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Dean throwing off those Paul Newman cocky vibes with so many great plans that never go completely right and Sam as the more reflective, earnest Sundance ready to kill anyone for Butch. Hmmmm, first kiss would have to be when they are on the run, tired and worried with only each other in the end. The hurt/comfort is off the charts so yeah, I’m in in.

For a movie where they are hunting a monster, I would love to see them in The Night House (slightly spoilery if you haven’t seen it). The themes of death and grief and keeping terrible secrets from your loved one would be a perfect Winchester vibe, then throw in a subtle monster playing psychological tricks to get a soul back who had escaped death. Forget Beth the heroine. She’s awesome but the Winchesters would be irresistible to The Nothing as two souls that have consistently escaped death again and again. Throw in a lot of sexual desperation and confused jealousy throughout the story and you would kill me dead. DEAD. Oh yeah, they would be mangled physically and emotionally *chef’s kiss*

I think you know this, don’t you, but oh man, oh man, it was that opener for s4. The effect of the flashing red light and the distant screaming, and the wingbeats, and Dean’s panicked eyes---hoooooly shit, holy SHIT, and him coming up out of the dry dirt in that awful sunblasted clearing. Oh my god! And then of course everything after. His raw voice, and his fingers bloody. Ethereal s2 Dean is one thing; broken-apart near-feral brittle-smile Dean of s4 is where I live, half the time.

But for another one, on the second time through when I was paying more attention -- s1, Home, when Dean was smiling and eye-rolling at Sam on the front side of the gas station and practically folded up around the phone in tears asking for John, thirty seconds later. Jesus christ. Jesus christ.

ooh unlocking a secret question! but i'm not sure i have a wise answer to it :0 every drawing is made of a hundred moments of figuring something out. if you ever saw me trying to decide on a colour scheme in my art, you'd cry. it's a mess. so i guess the answer is trial and error!

uh i forgot i still had this in my inbox but - jungleland! not necessarily plot-wise (like, at all. sorry.), more just that i think dean should do illegal bareknuckle fighting and sam should be his handler, cutman, manager, whatever. it can be a monster bait situation or a money thing, i don't even care. are they having a good time? debatable. but dean gets to beat up guys and zone out during it and breathe into their mouths while holding them down and sam gets to call the shots and apply disinfectant to dean's knuckles so they make do, like they always do. there's a necklace that gets traded between the brothers in the movie and it gets kissed in turn by them and when i say samulet, that's low-hanging fruit but it doesn't matter because i'm right.
