Sarai first meets Zym when she's four years old
Mum and Dad are on a diplomatic visit on behalf of Uncle Ez and Zym's an old friend anyway so they're more than happy to go
Zym's gotten p big now. He's maybe the size of that dragon Callum and Rayla met in season 2 at this point?? Much bigger than he was when they took him home and he knows he's huge but he still acts like a widdle baby at times
What? His Human and his Elf were like his mum and dad once. He's not above reverting to a fun loving baby at his size
Anyway you'd think that little baby Sarai would be scared of this gigantic dragon on her first meeting with him like any normal four year old right?
WRONG. Sarai toddles up to him, zero fear in her eyes, hands out curious and wanting pats
Zym happily obliges. He's pretty thrilled himself tbh - his human and his elf have a tiny bubby now look how cute she is
Anyway he takes them for a ride. Shows them his kingdom.
Sarai loves every minute of it.
The next time they visit, Sarai's 8. She's a little shyer this time but Zym is super sweet and gentle with her.
At age 12, Sarai starts realising that Zym is just like Uncle Ez and will basically let her get away with anything.
After certain events in ADB that were not going to talk about just yet, she makes an effort to see him at least once every couple of years. Zym loves it. His elf and his human dont get to say hi very often, and Ez gets to visit even less than that, but Sarai goes out of her way to come and say hi. It's a pretty great friendship.
