TEN THINGS I LOVE ABOUT THE CRYPTID MUSIC VIDEO!!!
#1 how blatantly queer it is
#2 starts out with the main cryptid seeing controversies about cryptids (trans ppl) in sports.
ends the video with a layer of sports trophies above the same tv. yeah, fuck you transphobes.
#3 the text "cryptids have responded "we're not asking"". basic respect should go to EVERYONE
#4 a whole song about feeling like a rare monster sighting, coming out of your hidey hole in the ground and being rejected by the public.
#5 how silly and lighthearted it is despite the deep message. 67 on the tv all throughout the video,
showing the cryptids fixing their hair in the mirror,
getting their horns trimmed at the barber (BTW THAT PART IS REALLY SWEET TO ME BECAUSE ITS LIKE WHEN YOU GET YOUR FIRST TRANS HAIRCUT. AND THEY USED A MASCULINE PRESENTING PERSON SO IM PRETTY SURE THATS WHAT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO REPRESENT. BUT IT WAS ALSO SILLY AND CUTE)
#6 even though everyone thinks the cryptids are "scary" they are fashionable, have pretty horns and accessories, and pretty makeup. theyre not portrayed as the scary threat the media sees them as. theyre beautiful and theyre together. i fucking love that. i fucking love this video. this is my favourite cavetown video ever
#7 i love the diversity in cryptids. its diverse in gender, race, gender expression, and the cliques or personalities of the cryptids presented. some of them are blokey and sporty,
some are dainty and feminine, some are trendy and cool, some are confident and fabulous.
but they all stand with each other in the end.
#8 i thought it was interesting that robbie had a minor role in the video, rather than being the main character. i thought this was a good choice. hes just another person that this happens to. the main story is about solidarity and community. i like that it reaches out to their audience, who they know is predominantly transgender, and shows all kinds of people on the screen who stand together. its a great message.
#9 creepy guy "i know im in your history" getting his phone violently milked. i did not expect that glass to fucking break. bigoted trans fetishists deserve backlash i think this perfectly fits the tone of the song. i like that it encourages cryptids to stand up to bigotry and the people that make them uncomfortable for existing and being them. i love you robbie. this is perfect
fuck you bigoted milk guy!
#10 the various transphobes throughout the video. they got it spot on and the actors deserve their flowers. i felt like i had met these people before and it really got me. it got me good. good fucking job to these guys
BONUS THING I NOTICED?
ROBBIE WAS BEHIND THE CREEPY MILK GUY????????? WHATS HE DOIN HIDING BACK THERE. HEY BUDDY!!!
