Alright so i'm about to put way to much thought into a singular aspect of Dread's design.

specifically the purple scarf thing.

My guess is that it's made from silk.

I've looked around and apparently it was common for pirates, specifically captains to wear fancy items of clothing such as silk to show of their success.

but what interests me the most is it's colour. the fact that it's purple is interesting to me

So. In our world the golden age of piracy is recorded as spanning between 1690-1730 and i'm guessing that's when most pirate media is drawing from (even though a lot of what we know is probably heavily fictionalized.)

And purple dye has been notoriously hard to make in the past so purple clothes gained a sense of prestige and value. In some era's only kings could afford it because of how expensive it was.

We don't know what kind of civilization is out there in the no place but for Dread to be the most feared pirate on the seas and have a reputation there has to be some kind of society that he can terrorize and steal from.

So him having a purple silk scarf means he's either stolen from royalty/nobility or interrupted a merchant ship that was carrying some very valuable cargo.

Or i'm reading way too much into a design detail that's just like that because it looks nice.

in this shot Tails is flying from the sea towards green hills with Knuckles on the wings.

My theory is that This is Tails flying back after picking up Knuckles from angel island.

Recently with Sonic 2, frontiers prologue, Tails tube, Idw. They really have been bringing back angel island and the master emerald, so i'm certain it'll have a presence in prime.

The bottom one looks like the world that been shown off in all the trailers, the top left look like here

but the top right one kinda reminds me of the icon they use for Knuckles in Mario and sonic at the olympics. but styled to be like a skull and crossbones

ARE WE GETTING PIRATE CAPTAIN KNUCKLES? IN PRIME???

We still don't know a lot about how the shatter spaces work but i do think a notable bit of info is that reality didn't collapse when Nine took the red shard and brought it outside of the new yoke shatter space.

So the existence of the shatter spaces doesn't seem to be entirely dependent on the shards even though they are heavily affected and possibly created by them

i just saw a clip of when Knuckles crushes Robotnik’s hand, and while its hard to tell because of the quality and Knuckles is mostly facing away from the camera but when Robotnik screams you can actually see him recoil and look at his hand in shock. he genuinely seems caught off guard that he hurt Robotnik’s hand. 

im not sure why but Knuckles’ body language in this scene really dose make him seem like a kid trying to learn and get approval from an adult. the animators did such a good job on giving Knuckles so much detail in his body language.

I've fallen into a rabbit hole of research for a fic.

and i got questions.

How high is Angel Island?

like, I can't find any kind of definitive height but it has been depicted as in or above the clouds a few times.

and I'm just wondering how that would affect Knuckles when he goes down to the surface for the first time. Like would he get some kind of reverse altitude sickness or something?

it could be any where between between 1.9 km (6,500 ft) and 4.6 km (15,000 feet) depending on where the cloud are forming.

Then again there are apparently some towns that are up that high so maybe it wouldn't be that bad for him.

alright so we know that when Rapunzel uses the decay incantation it burns people who touch her.

but in the great tree episode adira tackles and bumps Rapunzel into the water without being burned.

varian is also unaffected by touching Rapunzel during the incantation.

adira as well as quirin were blasted by the moonstone. so perhaps it grants some resistance.

but adira is hurt by the “radial” effect.

so maybe similar to how the sun drops power was passed on to the child of the drinker, a similar thing happened with varian.

and power of the sundrop and moon stone when passed on to a child from a parent who was effected will be stronger than acquiring the same amount of the power directly of something.

The thing from the trailer also kinda looks like Bongo-Bongo from Ocarina of Time.

oooh yes yes yes

the whole central eye mass thing sounded by a "floweriness" and hanging from the ceiling definitely strong bongo bongo vibes
