I've had this thought for a while but only just realized I have a tumblr now so I can actually get that thought to reach ppl who'll share my level of madness.
So Sonic yeah? Pretty much the entire main cast are all anthropomorphic animals, excluding Eggman and his family tree. Across adaptations of Sonic, there's not a lot of consistency on what the general population outside of Sonic and the Gang are composed of. In shows like Boom, Prime, and the IDW comics, it's almost entirely animals, and Eggman's the odd one out:
But in other versions, where there are humans, Eggman still sticks out like a sore thumb:
It's also worth noting that in some Sonic games, there are regular, non-anthropomorphic animals in addition to anthropomorphic versions
(Yes, Vector is a crocodile not an alligator, but they're close enough taxonomically to be significant. You can't convince me that the difference between alligators and crocodiles in this universe is that one swims in freshwater and the other has bills to pay)
So here's my theory: there's cartoonish, anthropomorphic versions and realistic, non-anthropomorphic versions of the animals, right? So why wouldn't this extend to humans? After all, they're mammals just like hedgehogs and foxes are. AND THAT'S WHAT EGGMAN IS. He's an anthropomorphic animal like Sonic, it just happens to be that the animal he's based on is a human.
Eggman is an anthropomorphic human. He's human squared.
After 20 years of Sonic ‘06, it took me to realize that Princess Elise’s unconscious tumble hints at the events that occur in the game. Check this out:
Do you guys remember that in-game cutscene where Sonic witnessed the Egg Carrier explosion? This is where the Egg Carrier was heading, as shown here at that distance–this cutscene sets the stage for the game, Kingdom Valley:
Compared to the last CGI cutscene of Sonic’s Story, which is set in a different background:
Without Sonic’s assistance in rescuing her via time travel, could this be an unseen depiction of Elise’s death, as shown above? Think about it. Remember that pre-rendered cutscene where the Solaris Project had gone wrong. After this, we saw the shot of the Duke of Soleanna’s body, Elise’s father, in the fog:
(That one was from another in-game cutscene, where he sealed Iblis into Elise, giving her to Silver in a safe place, and passing out, after giving her a motivational speech:)
Also, that shot of that random hazmat scientist’s body:
We saw this shot of younger Elise’s body:
Which recalls this shot of Elise’s body in a slightly similar lying position:
Between the shots of bodies from the laboratory (Aquatic Base) and Elise in the plains from the Egg Carrier incident, could those be good examples of visual depictions of deceased background, which could presumably apply to Soleanna itself? Speaking of Kingdom Valley, this is where the laboratory was, referring to that shot of younger Elise sleeping against the tree:
Which recalls this shot of her sleeping, facing forward:
If you look at this shot, her unconscious pose could represent Solaris (Phase 2) himself, compared to the way her arms spread, along with the pose itself, as Solaris’s wings:
Even though we know that the emblem of him, which is the symbol of Soleanna, was featured on her dress below:
Could Elise be the true symbol of Soleanna and the first true victim of this city, since the Duke of Soleanna from the lab incident, despite being a princess? That’s not all! Moreover, do you remember that in-game cutscene where Mephiles kills Sonic? His body presumably echoes her body as well:
However, take a closer look at these shots. As Sonic and Elise roll over from prone to supine, their right arms land in a similar position:
As a result, since Elise is the first female human character to lie unconscious in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise since Maria Robotnik, these unexpected parallels to these characters in the later games so far, including Maria herself, are notable:

That fan theory that Shadow saved Robotnik's life at the last second by teleporting and that Shadow, Robotnik and Stone all live together now somewhere is my favourite fan theory because this is how I imagine it and I truly hope that the fourth movie makes this canon:
And I think Shadow and Stone would be buddies cuz they have some things in common like the badass motorcycle skills for example.

Okay so, i was reading over gerald's journal and i noticed something.
Maria was the first thing he ever saw when he woke up, which got me thinking. "Do hedgehogs imprint on the first thing they see? Could explain how he quickly was able to trust maria and become friends with her?"
Turns out, no hedgehogs are solitary creatures and dont typically do that.
But it got me thinking, maybe the black arms do? Like, maybe they are ment to obey the first things they see, (usually it being black doom) and perhaps gerald knew this. Making him decide to make sure Maria was thr first thing Shadow saw as he could trust Maria would be trustworthy and kindhearted enough to make sure Shadow did the right thing!
He even states in the journal that Shadow and Maria are developing a deeper bond than he expected, the two were inseparable and i think thats partually because maybe a part of shadows dna saw her as his "master"
This theory also makes sence if you take into account that Shadow is unable to deny any of Marias requests, regardless of if he wants to or not. He also hasn't been able to achieve a similar bond with anyone else since. (Rouge and omega come close but not quite as close as Maria)
We see an example of him not being able to say no to Maria in SxS gens when he leaves without her despite not wanting to, specifically because she asked. Im sure there maybe more examples but i cant think of any atm lol (im still catching up to sonic lore, there is alot)
Anyway! I think Shadow imprinted on Maria, thats the theory (a game theory) thankyou for coming to my ted talk! Lol, I'd love to know if anyone else has thought of this?? Or just, lemme know your thoughts because i dont think ive heard anyone suggest anything like this yet and my brain lit up when i thought of it lol.
IDW Sonic: On the identity of the mysterious coffin villain, or what exactly is he
I haven't really kept up with IDW Sonic for a while, since the book doesn't offer me much in the way of theorizing or the like, and the books have kept their mania for references in check. Weirdly though, the series has been playing with a "new" mysterious villain for the last few arcs. You may have a guess about who this character is, but I want to discuss what they may be.
Issue #86 just came out, and we have Sonic meeting face to face with the mysterious stranger... and he recognizes who he is. However, this villain uses a strange artifact, and it seemingly makes Sonic forget what he just saw. The artifact takes the form of a STAR. At the end of the issue, Sage tells Eggman that the only suspect with that modus operandi has been long dead. What a curious LINE of dialogue.
Yeah, let's get this charade out of the way: it's Doctor Starline.
In the same issue where he died ( #50 ), Eggman confirmed his death under the rubble. Issue #52 has Surge finding his glove near the furnace of Eggperial City. Starline was confirmed dead by Eggman, and possibly cremated by him the same day.
There is no way Starline is alive.
This is where my theory comes in. Let's recap a bit:
After being fired by Eggman during the Metal Virus arc, Starline decided to become a pest to the world, working in the shadows to obtain information for his projects, which would later turn out to be Surge and Kit. He worked alongside other villains in Bad Guys, stole DNA from Tails and the AI data from Belle, and helped himself to Eggman's technology. Along the way, we discovered a peculiar habit of his: recording everything he could. A "wannabe influencer," in Surge's words.
I believe when this was written, Ian Flynn didn't intend for this to be anything more than a character flaw of Starline. He was so prideful that he couldn't help himself ; he needed to hear himself talk.
But with a bit of retroactive continuity, that can change.
What if all these logs were for a different reason?
I doubt the doctor who was so critical of Eggman for his lack of foresight, wouldn't have the foresight to use these logs for a reason of his own that wasn't just narcissism.
What if Starline was making a copy of himself? An artificial intelligence based on his own records, and that AI took the form of an android.
This is possible. While Starline never built a robot of his own in the series, the process he used to turn Surge and Kit into cyborgs proves he's a genius, something Eggman himself acknowledges post-mortem.
And issues #85 and #86 show the villain using a hypnotic device to confuse Sonic. No different from the device Starline used to gaslight Surge and Kit's memories.
It's an incomplete theory, I know. But it would explain why this guy has the fashion sense of a grim reaper with a coffin. Artistically, it symbolizes the return of a ghost; someone who comes back to haunt the heroes.
I conclude this theory of mine with the following thoughts:
Is this android a perfect replica of Starline, or a flawed one? The villain's grim attitude lacks the flamboyant theatrics of the platypus.
Was this android perhaps Infinite's benefactor in the Chaotix Casefiles?
...Okay, that one is very likely unrelated. But still.
