Brainstorm would really like Star Trek! All the Star Trek. (Except Enterprise - no one likes Enterprise.) Because it's both fun and smart science fiction.
His favorite characters in each series are probably: are Spock (TOS), Geordi (TNG), Garak or Bashir (DS9), and the Doctor (VOY). He prefers Kirk over Picard, but his favorite captain is Janeway because he can relate to her love of coffee.
He would also like Adventure Time because it's delightfully absurd and, as an added bonus, confuses Perceptor. His favorite character is of course Bubblegum.
As for anime, he really likes Steins;Gate because of Okarin. Otherwise, he's fond of surreal slice of life comedies like Nichijou and Arakawa Under the Bridge (which also confuse Perceptor).
