It turns out that all of the tension in this issue is instigated by Phoenix’s imminent return to Earth, and the fact that Rachel is still unwittingly carrying around all her mother’s baggage from that time she committed genocide against that one civilization. Which is bullshit because how pissed would you be if you got blamed for eating a star when you had never even eaten a star before.
