how sad to see fans who love that shadow is an obedient dog for maria,😭 i like it more that he managed to put the past behind him and save the world because he wants it and not for maria. yes maria was the one who gave him the purpose but then he's the one who wants to do it

     Awkwardly, Silver watched as the adult lowered himself into the water with a sigh. (...)The normally intense eyes pulled into a relaxed half lidded daze. For the first time, Silver could have sworn the adult was enjoying himself.

     “These hot springs are good for removing glue sap.” Shadow explained, pulling his hands through his dirty quills. “After you loosen up I’ll help you get clean.”

     With a content sigh, Silver slid down the mineral pool and allowed his body to relax. The warm water soothed his sore muscles and eased his pain. Sticking his nose in the spring, he blew bubbles into the frothy ripples.

If you aren't reading The Prodigy by Nightfuchia, what are you doing? That work will be one of those masterpieces known in the whole fandom, years after completion, I swear.
