For you Mer Ruin and Eclipse AU!

I have finished 1/8 of these small little interactions between your characters and mine ;3

First up:

The star Beetlejuice/Betelgeuse (I promise, they sound the same when reading them out loud XD) and Sunpea!

Betelgeuse first impression of the little guy?

Is there..

No way to help him?

Mer!ruin I mean..

I feel like there would be different ways to help the chronic pain, or even Ease it

I feel so sad for him, being in constant pain isn't fun at all..

How did this happen? Did the pirates damage his tail this badly when catching him?

Did they break it and it heald crookedly causing the present chronic pain?

Ruin's injuries are permanent and will continue to remain for the rest of his life. He does have methods to manage the pain however, cold bathes and regular gentle swimming to prevent the muscles seizing up. He also gets tail massages from Eclipse!

How he got the injury in the first place, it happened when he got caught and badly tangled in a large fishing net during the height of mer poaching. In his attempts to escape, his fins got torn on one side and his body was twisted in such a way that it broke his tail. He didn't realise he had broken it though until after he managed to pull himself free.

Now mers do heal pretty fast, and broken bones even vertebra are no exception. But due to how his tail broke, the bones ended up fusing wrong, leaving it permanently crooked and Ruin unable to swim as well with it as he used to.

As a result, he would grow gradually weaker with time as he was no longer able to hunt as effectively anymore, and while he was able to tag along with a few stray pods who provided for him best they could, due to many of them being on the constant move to evade poachers Ruin would inevitably be unable to keep up and was either left behind, or he would willingly part from them as to not slow them down. He'd already experienced losing his first original pod to the poachers, he wasn't going to be the cause of more mers losing theirs to them either.

So when he is captured, he was alone, and already too weak from hunger and fatigue to get away or even put up much of a fight. Thought that his time had finally come until he came face to face with a robot who looked strikingly like another mer at first glance. One that would save his life and ultimately start a new life with him.

Also i will say, while yes it is sad for Ruin to have to suffer with his chronic pain, he has long since learned how to live with it and he does now have a family around him who look after him and help make the worst days a little easier! He's provided with food and plenty of care from both Eclipse and their children, especially as the latter grows older.

All in all, he's quite content with the life he has now and he wouldn't want to change it.

You said that ruin was feeling week while having the egg, because it takes a lot of magic and energy to produce one, and ruin is already in a not so well condition...

How much did eclipse panic when he realized that ruin's health was slowly "declining"?

Also, how did He discover about the egg?

Did ruin have the same thought as swap merAU! eclipse when thinking about the child or not?

Ruin had asked Eclipse if he'd want to have a child with him before he started the process. He wasn't going to do it unless Eclipse was ok with it, and Eclipse would have needed to think on it for a couple days first before agreeing to it.

Also Ruin had told Eclipse beforehand that there was a good chance he would become ill from this, but not life threateningly so. This was because Ruin (correctly) guessed he'd only be capable of creating one egg instead of two or three, which would have definitely pushed the boundaries of what his body could handle and more than likely any other eggs would not have survived.

But even so, Eclipse did worry a lot for Ruin once he started showing signs of fatigue and the mild fevers began springing up. Ruin overheats easily in general so the fevers would occur quite frequently, especially leading up to the day the egg would be ready.

What song did ruin sing?

I'm kinda curious, did he sing in the mer language or in English?

Do they have a mer language of their own?

He sang it in mer language yes! Mers/Sirens have enchanting singing voices and they can use magic through them, some more powerful than others (it can take years of practice for a mer to hone their voice into something truly powerful like for example summoning storms, casting wards of protection or even healing mortal wounds)

The song he sung was one of healing. His level of enchanted singing is actually pretty high but it does take a lot of energy for him, so he only uses it in times of need.
