I drew Acorn's Nightmarified cutie, Lumo. He lent his expertise for mane, belly, and background effects. He also wrote a vignette to accompany the piece. A bit darker than my usual fare, but I feel his work is a part of the piece just as much as the visual.
After embracing the Nightmare, Lumo’s victory over Equestria was swift and brutal. Luna herself went to Nightmare Lumo of her own free will, and the alicorn begged and pleaded to be allowed to become Nightmare Moon again. In a last-ditch effort, she promised to aid in bringing about the Nightmare to the world, if those she cared about would be spared. Lumo, however, looked at the pathetic alicorn with disdain, telling her that she had her chance. Nightmare Moon was weak, and unworthy of the powers she tried to siphon. With a wave of Lumo's tail, the alicorn fell screaming through the floor, her familiar moonlight making place for countless nightmare shades ominously grinning back at her. Her torture had only just started, and it wouldn't stop until every last bit of hope had been erased - together with the former princess who disgraced the Nightmare.
