FREAKS AND YEASAYERS DNI!
Lying Awake
When Aletta told Skipper she wanted to meet in person and talk about Elegy, she assured him it wasn't bad news. She didn't know how else to describe it. He might be disappointed and hurt, but no one was in danger, or... anything like that. She wasn't trying to lie to him.
Elegy would have things to say, too. She placed her phone on the coffee table for him and sat sideways to Logan and Skip, clearly nervous, hands laid stiffly on her knees. She didn't want to start fidgeting. If she was guilty she at least didn't want to look pitiful and as though she couldn't own up to it.
Seeing Skipper for the first time after that horrible dream-vision invited a mixed bag of emotions. There was pain, but there was also relief and amazement at the place that he had gotten himself to. Skipper's life was happy now. So Aletta didn't want to be a stain upon it, didn't want to take his trust or his presence in hers for granted.
"I, um... I haven’t been responsible. I owe you more honesty and I’m sorry.” She met Skipper’s eyes and hesitated.
"I've been meeting Elegy in my dreams. ...I think it's been really helpful for him," she said, voice holding steady. "He said it came from borrowing your dreamwalking."
the exposition episode
Valsur’s house had become, in the last month, much more occupied than it had ever been since he’d lived there. The change was… interesting, and he found himself excitedly unable to sleep at the thought of things he wanted to do the following day. Brushing off cobwebs of unused rooms and shittily (in personality only) making sure his guests were comfortable, he had been in a better mood than he’d been in a long time. Not that most people could tell, but it was still a weight off Valsur’s shoulders.
Still, it had been a while since Valsur had time to do things on his own, and there was catching up to do. That was the only, only reason (for sure) that he’d asked Logan along for help cataloguing the artifacts in his storage room, and absolutely not because Logan would love and enjoy doing this with him. He made sure to underline that it would be an awful chore and that Logan owed him (he didn’t) and Logan agreed without question. So, a successful ownage by Valsur.
“Come down here, it’s in this room,” Valsur said over his shoulder after shuffling Logan along through some narrow stairways and halls. No one had questioned why Valsur’s basement seemed to change or not follow the structural sense that if probably should. It was for the better. Valsur led them into a room that was long and square with many shelves lined with strange objects and books. “I have a chair if your weak, boyish legs need a break from standing later.”
Verification
Susette wanted to do this right. She had set up the appointment through official channels, confirming a time that would work best for Mr. Davis--so long as there was a time chosen. And, in the lead up, she had done her research. She knew who was likely to be there with him thanks to Mr. Davis’s obvious fawning. It didn’t take too much effort to find the file on that one, either.
A sticky situation. One she could hopefully improve--or at least not make worse. Considering what they’d been through, it was an impossibly tall order.
Exactly on time, Susette stood in front of Mr. Davis’s door. She carried her tablet, looking pressed and clean in a blue blouse and darker blue dress pants tucked into knee-high boots, for all the world playing the part of a young social worker. Gently but firmly, she knocked at the door.
Yes! Yes, I have indeed and it's a marvelous idea! Regular pizza can be a bit dreary because it's mostly a lot of vegetables (disappointing), meat (dreary and faux meat isn't very exciting at all most of the time), and cheese (actually, I quite like the cheese) and people on the Internet will make fun of you if you say that you like pineapple on it, so dessert pizza is a very exciting alternative. I especially like the ones made out of watermelon instead of bread. They're a very good idea because then you don't get crumbs or powder or grease on your hands, which is a very unenjoyable part of the eating process. Watermelon's smart because it contains both water and melon. Multitasking is marvelous. :+)
Speech! Speech! Speech!
Hoax’s speech time is now her heckling the audience. It’s not entertaining to everyone, but it’s entertaining to her, and that’s what truly matters.
What do they like that nobody else does?
She’s found that no one really likes to talk about the ‘end’ of her life. She understands that death is very permanent for them as opposed to her, and she struggles to convey how wonderful it would be if she could die and hatch her children.
@justskipper @nightshft
You’re right, I should never doubt you two. I will be waiting for my chauffeur to desserts pls and thank you

Punch (It) Out
Charlie felt a pit in her stomach as she approached the gym Logan sent her. She was embarrassed about the argument she started with him despite knowing her frustration would come out regardless. Friendship was becoming dangerous for her heart. Especially when it came to Logan. His propensity to downplay or otherwise avoid talking about his recent traumas reminded her of herself which was massively annoying for her. Above all though, Charlie was just worried for her friend.
The tired woman sent a quick ‘I’m here’ text before sighing and pushing the door open.
