Some headcanons for my Nightwing!Steve Harrington au that only I am talking about because I got brainrot for real right now:
1- He wasn't born into the circus like Dick (the actual Nightwing) was. His birth parents (rich Harringtons) had him when they were teens and weren't ready for a kid, but didn't want to do an abortion because of "christian values", so they abandoned baby Steve on the circus and the Flying Harringtons adopted him;
2- His adoptive parents were great people and taught him all their acrobat and aerialist tricks and sometimes he appeared on the shows as well. But mostly he was backstage watching them and tried stuff off the show;
3- The parents died the same way as in the Batman comics, but instead of being adopted right away by Batman, Steve was (re?) adopted by his birth parents (which were fucking cunts). He lived with them until he was 11 years old and then put on adoption again, where Batman finally got to him (I'm trying to decide whether I put Hopper as Batman or not);
4- While on the care of Batman and going to school, he became a basketball player there and was famous at school. He was kind of a dick for a while because of all the shit he got going on, but became better when he was like 15 because he did some self reflection after doing some shit he regretted;
5- Steve went by Robin just like Dick until he was 18, then he decided to change and become his own hero Nightwing instead of Batman's sidekick;
6- His first try at a costume was a disaster, he tried to make like a basketball uniform and shit and it was just SO ugly and impractical, but babyboy just wanted to separate himself from the image of Batman's sidekick so bad that he used it for a little while before making the actual Nightwing costume;
7- Robin Buckley became Robin at 16 right after Steve left to become Nightwing, thus making their relationship very strained at first. Soon they became best friends and even kind of siblings (Steve didn't have a crush on Robin on this for obvious reasons, they're completely platonic from the start) (but also she could just be Catwoman);
8- After that, she became Red Robin (maybe when Eleven was adopted and became the current Robin? I still don't know who to make Batman) and sometimes tagged along with Nightwing on patrol, but both were their own heroes;
9- Steve met Eddie while the guy was selling drugs on Crime Alley to some dudes and almost beat him up for it, but being a disaster bi he just got lost on Eddie's puppy eyes and stood frozen as Eddie ran away lol;
10- He started encountering Eddie more and more on patrol and got to know why he was selling drugs and tried to help as he could. He finally met Eddie as Steve when Eddie got jumped by some people for selling one of their girlfriend's drugs (you know who). Steve helped him by fighting off the guys and ran with Eddie to a safe place;
11- Him and Eddie became friends (they flirted a lot with each other but never really acknowledged it) while he was Steve and he still met him sometimes while he was Nightwing, but Eddie didn't know who he was for a long time before it finally clicked, though he didn't say anything because if Steve wanted him to know then he would tell him.
