Nightwing 8 was by Javier Fernandez, not Marcio Takara. The DC Comics website is wrong. The actual issue credits Javi, it has his drawing style, and Tim Seeley also outright said that Javi's art was great in this issue.

honest to god Raptor has been one of the best, most relatable DC villains in a while.

after Anarky getting ruined by Alan Grant going down Ayn Rand Wackadoo Lane, I like seeing a character that gives Bruce Wayne the roasting of a life time for being an entitled rich guy

give us more ‘eat the rich’ characters DC I NEED

Nightwing #08 Thoughts

Grayson Family Mysteries. I thought Raptor might not like Mary being married to John, but his distaste at her name might be from it being an assumed name, if they’re hiding from the authorities. She’s obviously done him a favour though, and he’s obviously someone it’s not great to be tied to.

Well now we know why he keeps his eyes covered. I wonder if he’s a gm crop too, like the Kali Yuga dudes.

Either way, he’s definitely got some kind of Snape thing going on.

Cutting tool in his watch, batarang in his sock. Make sure you check everywhere Raptor. He can be tricky.

Raptor sounds very familiar right now.

Bruce looks really chubby and good in that panel with his neck all locked up. Sry.

Bruce is very trusting of Dick’s capabilities there. Which is nice to see. For once.

Oh fuck. A weaponised silver spoon. I’m crying. Beautiful. Straight up silver age ridiculousness and hooked right into the stock market.

Leprosy. Oh man. Don’t make me empathise with Raptor too much, mate.

I love them bringing up the hoarding and denial of medical supplies.

Bruce, do we even want to know what you’re carrying around inside yourself? It’s probably for the best that you do the rich person thing and don’t go through customs.

Taking a moment to think about how Bruce can pick a lock with his tongue.

I love how the things Bruce and Dick threw to hurt each other with are the things they’re “Well, actually...”ing Raptor with.

And Raptors left like a marionette with his strings cut. And I feel bad for him. Bah.

One of my favourite silver age things is when Bruce falls from tightropes in circuses (seriously, it happens kind of regularly) and it’s still my favourite now. i do honestly love that seeley loves the SA.

Poor Raptor.  I feel bad for them taking Suyolak away. If he can’t feel pain, he can’t feel. So the claw is as much a tool for holding stuff as it is a weapon.

Poor Bruce. Everyone knows. You’re a paranoid freak and more people couldn’t know who you are if you had it skywritten.

They are so totally married. I swear...

That was so good. I hope Seeley and the Bat Office know he’s never leaving this book. Right?

The art has just gotten better and better and the colours are so great. and i love all the echoes from the earlier issues finally catch up to each other here.
