officially Done with The Kodansha Kanji Learners Course after over 6 month of (almost) daily writing pratice. I'm not going to say that I learnt all 2300 kanji from it (you could not make me learn to write 璽, which I don't think I've ever even seen before), but I know how to write the overwhelming majority of them now.
I had expected that, by the time I finished the book, I would be able to understand why I'm doing all of That in the first place, but I don't think I ever did. It's nice to lose my insecurity over being able to read, but not write in Japanese, though. Other than that, I mostly feel a weird sense of emptiness......
they are like sisters. to me.
choking on tears. saw this word today
realised that my favourite part of JLPT grammar tests is the tasks where you have to figure out the correct word order based on the options you are given which re-affirms the notion I can enjoy anything if it's sort of like a puzzle
I think there is sort of a common thread in how I started learning Japanese simply because I didn't want to be English *or* Chinese major (which were my only other options at the time) despite having 0 interest in the language (I didn't even watch anime at that point), only got good at grammar because I had a crush on our teacher and currently studying how to write all kanji simply because I felt like it despite having no practical application for that skill
Japanese learning tips because it's 1AM and I can't sleep
So yeah it's been 3 and a half years of this study hell (jk I love this) and I recently realised some things about my study process via media (anime/manga/books/games) so here are a few tips from a """""veteran""""" to whoever stumbles upon this
I was thinking of making a post of cursed furigana from Moriarty the Patriot manga (there is a lot) but this deserves its own post
This isn’t even a real word
