Do any of the kitties have any hobbies or things they get up to in their free time?

YES! I haven't really had a way to introduce it in the comic yet, but Alpinepaw is interested in makeup! This is an art they'd develop overtime - just starting out, he's not too good at it yet, but he's having fun!

Harekit is interested in whatever anybody else is doing - he'll definitely develop some personal interests later on, but at this age, he wants to be included in EVERYTHING! Whatever somebody else is doing, it must be fun (and he's usually right).

I would love if people made Nimbus OCs 👉👈 I don't really honestly have any ground rules (yet?), except TAG MEEEE if you post them! Here are the Clans you can choose from:

NimbusClan: If you want your OC to be in NimbusClan, go crazy go wild do whatever you want. NimbusClan PROBABLY added your cat to the Clan somewhere along their journey to find a new home, but feel free to do whatever and make up as much as you'd like.

VeilClan: Won't reveal too much about these guys because they're quite plot relevant, but this is Nightstar's Clan! They exist ONLY within the Chasm (Nimbus' Dark Forest), meaning they're all dead -- unless you want to really break the bounds of my rules and make a living VeilClan cat (but probably won't make much sense without their full story).

StarClan/Chasm: Currently, all StarClan cats are Nimbus-only, since Nimbus hasn't traveled to their permanent territory yet. Chasm cats can be dead cats from wherever you want!

Loners/Rogues/Kittypets: Free of rules, go bonkers.

CirrusClan: Fancy themselves closest to StarClan, as their territory is at the highest altitude. Very full of themselves. Distrusting of NimbusClan.

StratusClan: Generally regarded as very strange cats, their territory borders a lake. Dreamy, quirky cats. Very friendly with NimbusClan.

CumulusClan: The most reclusive of the Clans, their territory is at a lower altitude and much more forested. Secretive and prefer to keep to themselves. Feel neither here nor there about NimbusClan.

Feel absolutely free to make OCs from any of these additional Clans, even though they haven't been revealed in the comic yet. Who knows, if I like your OC enough, maybe I'll cameo them once these Clans are revealed 👀

📢 ramble about whatever lore you want!

Here's some lore that won't come into play for probably about a million years...

NimbusClan, years and years and years ago, was originally part of a collection of Clans that resided in a different area of the same mountain range the comic takes place in. The cats of NimbusClan, years and years and years ago, left due to an increase in twoleg activity in the area, among other things, and after a long journey ended up settling the camp that caved in at the beginning of the comic. Pitchstar's NimbusClan was very low in number for a variety of reasons (cats defecting to create their own Clan, war, and a harsh winter, namely) which is why the entire Clan, sans Moonpaw and Fogpaw, died out in the landslide.

(AKA my excuse for why the game starts you out with ten cats)

OOOH THESE ARE GREAT QUESTIONS, CAT

🎈: I LOOOOOVE when people theorize about the future of the comic!!! It's my favorite thing EVER to see in my comments or tags. One of my most favorite headcanons/theories is that Moonstar ends up partnering with Nightstar in some capacity... 👀 I do really, really love a thematic parallel, so while I will obviously not confirm or deny any theories, sharp readers may be able to figure out some of the future plot ahead of time.

🧃: Once again, I LOVE THEORIES!! I usually answer them in a very limited way, just because I don't want to give anything away, but this does not mean I'm not enthused!! I LOVE Y'ALL'S THEORIES!!!! I also love when people simply tell me a character is their favorite or they relate to one of them in some way. It makes me happy to be able to write characters people develop a connection with!!

📢: Hmm... Any lore I want... I try to keep Nimbus as spoiler-free as possible so that it's extra exciting when stuff finally comes to light, but I think I can ramble about StarClan a bit! So, leader's lives work differently in Nimbus lore than in canon Warriors lore. When StarClan grants nine lives to a living cat, they're actually offering that cat their soul. It's a big deal! Cats that offer up their souls to a leader truly believe in that leader, and is a big reason that leadership used to be passed down through the family before Pitchstar changed the rule. When a leader loses one of their lives, the soul of the cat that gave it to them is forever snuffed out. Nobody knows what happens AFTER the afterlife -- it's considered True Death, and is quite frightening to most cats. I really like when powers have consequences. If I could go back, I think I would've given the founders who gave Moonstar her lives a little more oomph in the overall lore of the comic, but alas, it's something I'll have to live with as a beginner comic artist!
