I wanna see more headcanons and writings about how the dateables would help a mentally unwell player because there are multiple signs that the player in game suffers some sort of depression or social anxiety disorder if they really haven't left their house in YEARS (I'm guessing on that, don't quote me on it). Like I wanna see dateables who are concerned for the player and ask how they're doing! I wanna see Betty be very gentle in her approach when asking the player that they should try and walk around the house and talk to other objects instead of bed rotting away like they've been doing for the past few weeks. I wanna see Freddy reminding their favorite cool kid to eat and offering small snacks to have because he knows they won't be able to stomach whole meals right away, and any food is better than nothing. I wanna see Amir give encouraging words, praises and much more in desperate attempts just to see the player smile again because it's been far too long since they've graced him with it.
I wanna see the dateable objects be genuinely concerned for their human, that they wanna help be that support for them because they've seen how the years of them battling it alone has affected them and help them on their journey to recover!!
I don't think people get the potential angst that Diana in Date Everything has, she is the personification of a diary. YOUR diary.
The diary where you pour all your thoughts and feelings into. What if the worst years of your life were written in ink on those pages? Perhaps more darker thoughts that peered into the depressive state you were in when you were younger were in there? Your dry tears staining paper from the breakdowns you had while trying to write to calm yourself down?
All of that, all of that and so much more in that diary. Only for you to see a person be a product that you authored into existence. When you look at Diana, you see every emotion you went through in her. Every thing you wrote down about yourself be twisted into her fabric of being, your mental state scattered in the shatters of her design, your own words mimic'd in her speech.
She is the emodiment of your mind written by your hand, and I want more people to see that. Because depending on what you wrote in her, would you be able to stand interacting with her or would it be a painful reminder to look at?

I think majority of the dateables would be concerned, not all, but most.
Like the ones who would be the most worried for you I believe would be Betty, Hector, Dorian, Freddy and quite a few others. Hector because he wishes he was able to comfort you so he works harder to provide you the comfort an AC is able to with the right temps. Betty naturally is a very caring person and her heart bleeds for you whenever you cry yourself to sleep, too exhausted to get up from her. Dorian also I think would be very concerned because as a friend, he wants you to be okay. He stands there though, ever so diligent in his job but when you're in a single room needing that time to cry, he makes sure he's tightly secured so no one can bother you during this very vulnerable state you're in. Freddy is in the same boat as Betty because he naturally is a caring person, yeah he's more calm about it but he shows great concern for you and tries his best to put you in better spirits.
Some honorable mentions that also go up in the "I really worry about you because I care about you deeply" category are Teddy, Mac, Phoenicia, Dunk, and Shelley.
expanding on that idea: dateables with a mentally ill homeowner who immediately turns on their social mode when they realise that they are surrounded by people, trying to cover it all up but the dateables already know they're deeply not okay

The homeowner trying to mask constantly in their own house after realizing they're surrounded by sentient objects. They're very much in denial that they're not okay because admitting that to themselves means that they're admitting that there's something wrong with them. Even if they do know deep down that they haven't been okay in a long time, they're not ready to admit it to themselves. Especially not from their own house objects. They act defensively when objects pry, they know they just want to help but they don't need their pity.
Like no Abel, I get you're trying to uplift my burdens by having me talk about my feelings but you can't even give yourself that same grace. Shelley you're a great friend and I get that you wanna lift my spirits (Literally and figuratively), but maybe try lifting some of that pressure off of yourself first before making me a charity case etc etc.
The homeowner doesn't mean to come off as rude or spiteful, hell they're really trying their best to be nice to everyone and get along with the front they have on. It's just when they start to pry, looking at them with this sorrowful glint in their eyes like they feel bad for their situation, like they know more of their life than they let on because they quite literally have for years, the cracks in the mask start to slip. And who knows? It might crack sooner rather than later at this pace.
A songwriter MC in Date Everything where they record their music in their office. When they're asleep upstairs, I like to imagine that Mac listens back to those recordings and bathes in your voice again once more. Not just the actual songs themselves, but also the raw recording takes of them too. All the silly bloopers, the failed attempts, trashed recordings you didn't think fit well, it's alk there and just for them to go back to when they want the comfort of your voice again.
Date Everything but the MC is an active gamer both on PC and console, though most of their gaming time is on PC. I imagine the MC enjoys horror and action games, which is unfortunate for Mac cause inbetween the two they're dealing with an MC who's either screaming or trying not to rage quite. After using the dateviators, Mac's finally able to articulate that them being more gentle with their keyboard and mouse when gaming would be really appreciated and the MC takes the input well.
It then turns into Mac trying not to laugh during gaming situations because now MC brings in a pillow from their room just to scream into during rage worthy gaming moments. It's progress for sure with a humorous solution!
Date Everything idea inspired by @/wrotebymii's most recent fic called House Fiend (I know he's rewriting it but I still love the idea that a close friend aside from Sam visits the player and house sits since I have a few ideas of my own to add!)
I think it'd be nice to have the player have a very close irl friend they talk to pretty regularly, perhaps having them as a potential love interest because despite being a hermit the friend still deeply cares about them and wants to keep that relationship with them. Perhaps the player gets giddy when talking to them during text messages, voice calls or during gaming sessions because they have a lot in common! The objects know a general idea of who this person is as a person and know that they're someone very important to them. Which gets them very curious on what this person is like in real life face to face especially when the player gets the dateviators!
The chance to meet them is taken when the player asks their dear friend for a big favor, to house sit for them for a few weeks. They don't have a lot of friends they trust to do this job, and as much as they care about Sam they're hesitant to ask her for help. So, their dear friend comes to mind for this task as they're the only one they really trust about this situation and that the objects at least are a little familiar with.
Idk I just love the idea that this close friend of the player has potential feelings for them after so long and now they get to share a bit of what the player has been going through in their house. I definitely see this as more of a fun oc idea to play since the idea alone would be difficult to write for plot wise in a fanfic, but I will be diving more into this with two ocs of mine in the future!

Koa I imagine although still enjoys the comforts in silence, also enjoys when the MC just does their own thing while they hang out.
Whether that be drawing, writing, knitting, watching TV, etc etc, as long he's spending time with them!
Quality time, gifting giving and physical affection is a major love language for him!
I like to think that he's a great listener towards his partner and takes an active interest in it, he doesn't say much, maybe a few comments here and there but you can always tell he's still listening.
He has a lot of patience with people, it's rare he's ever angry at someone, but when he is upset he gets very short with the person he's upset with and makes it clear he doesn't want them near.
Not very good with words so he prefers using his actions instead! A very attentive partner and is the best damn emotional rock to have when your overstimulated and need to be grounded.
Not really into action or horror type of shows or movies, prefers nature documentaries and romance comedy shows. Abel tried getting him into "The Houseknives of Dallas" show with him and Koa isn’t too into it, but he will admit it is interesting to see what might happen.
Is actually a REALLY good cook, in game he owns his own restaurant called "Two-Currents" which is a Hawaiian-Korean fused restaurant. He can be serious when he needs to be and is a hard worker despite his laid back attitude.
Husband material for real, like no joke he is a dependable partner, responsible, very understanding, extremely sweet, and can read body languages very clearly. He's had a lot of practice doing that and it makes him such a perfect candidate for the husband awards.
I also see Koa not really having a high sex drive, demi-sexual for sure with a low libido but slow romantic morning sex is something he really enjoys. He loves the closeness of it, the intimacy of what they're doing and that they can take their times with it.
