Funny thought,
Dorian love My Little Pony, because friendship is magic.
Just saw a head canon for Dorian where he's about the average height of a UK door at 6'7" or 6'8" and now its got me thinking of him with a short homeowner, 5'0" or 5'1" with their eyes almost coming up to his nipples.
Maybe a bit of size kink Dorian too??
Dorian size kink, yes, indeed.
When you first move in, Dorian is already smitten the second you walk up to the door, carrying too many boxes for someone so small. Every time you walk up to him he's smiling and looking down at you, yearning to be able to hold you and protect you more than he does now. He's aware of the fact that it would most likely never happen, so he is content with his role as protecting you from the outside world.
Oh but once the dateviators are involved, Dorian doesn't know how to act. He's immediately blushing the second Skylar introduces you, wanting to seem suave and cool as your big protector, but in his head he's freaking out because you somehow seem even smaller when you're looking up at him like that. It is an image he will keep in his mind for a long time.
He's not even worrying about the fact that he's definitely falling in love, the very thing he never wanted to do again, but he's not focused on that. He's just thinking about holding you against him, watching how well you fit into his arms, keeping you safe and comfortable.
Saw a video the other day that planted an idea in my head. It was a self ship prompt asking how easy/hard it would it be to hide from your f/o if they were to hunt you down (not exact wording, but you get the idea). Naturally that ended up leading into me thinking about how easy/hard it would be to hide from some of the dateables. Why would you need to hide from any of them? Idk, but I’m sure a reason could easily be made if you really liked this idea. (Maybe it’d be Nightmare’s doing.)
Honestly, like a lot of things I might post, this is more a fun “what if” to think about. Also, for the purposes of this post we’re gonna imagine that (for whatever reason) the dateviators are stuck on your face and can’t be taken off. That, and since the dateables are the ones seeking you out in this scenario then the normal 5 charges can be ignored.
Ones I think would be very hard to hide from based purely on what their object is (written in order as they come to mind, for the most part):
Celia, Florence, and Wallace- They are in every single room (counting closets) in the house, there is no hiding from them.
Hector and Dorian- While also technically in every room, these 2 don’t have quite the same range as Celia, Florence, and Wallace. In theory they have blind spots that you could attempt to take advantage of (Hector more than Dorian since Hector doesn’t have access to closets or crawl space like Dorian does), though they can use where they last saw you to figure out where you might be. And while you might be able to duck out of Hector’s view to potentially go undetected by him, you can’t try to make your way to other rooms without Dorian knowing.
Curt and Rod- They are in almost every room. Not counting closets and crawl space, the only rooms they aren’t in are the bathrooms and the attic. Unlike Hector, I don’t think you can quite stay undetected from them when in the same room as them. Like Hector and Dorian they could easily use where they last saw you to try and determine where you might be. (Best case scenario with those 2 is to go to the part of the upstairs hallway that is out of sight from the front door and hide in either the upstairs closet or the attic. And even then they could process of elimination where you are between those 2 locations.)
Able- He isn’t in too many spots (and most of them are pretty close to each other), but he has enough range with where he is to make hiding from him not so easy. Downstairs is worse because there is more of him down there. While there is less of him upstairs, the one in the upstairs hall has a good vantage point for seeing you going up/down there stairs and which upstairs rooms you could go into. Maybe you could get away with locking yourself in the upstairs bathroom if you go through the gym. He’ll probably still hear you on the other side of the bedroom side door though.
Airyn- While in game she’s only accessible at the vents, realistically she would/should be literally everywhere around you. There is no way to hide from her.
Shadowlord/Skips- Another case of can only able to be interacted with in a very specific area but realistically should/would be in every single room. There are always shadows. Pitch dark room/hiding spot? That might as well be all shadow! Regular darkness? There is probably enough faint lighting for faint shadows. Brightly light room? Everything around you is casting shadows! YOU cast a shadow! Skips is basically inescapable.
Eddie & Volt- Ok, this one relies on the idea/headcanon that they (or at the very least Volt) can see through the outlets throughout the house. If an area doesn’t have any outlets, like the closets (not counting the one they’re in obviously), then they’ll just use where they last saw you and go from there. If it wasn’t for the fact that all the closets that don’t have sliding doors open outward I’d say maybe you could try to barricade yourself in one of the downstairs ones. (Can’t even hope to be unseen in the dark because of Volt’s fucking hair could reveal you once he is close enough to your hiding spot.)
Skylar- She is literally on your face at all times. You can’t run nor hide from her at all.
Lux- Ok, I almost forgot about them. They are also in every room (except for the bedroom & gym closets and the crawlspace). They have an advantage with the fact that they are on the ceiling in many (if not most) areas, easier to scan the room from above. Any other instance of them (light switches, the couple of spots where there are lights on the wall, and the (standing & and table/desk) lamps) help them cover blind spots their ceiling locations may have.
And those are all the ones I could think of after working on this for days. I know there are probably a few others that would be hard to hide from based purely on what they are, and I purposely didn’t mention ones that are purely more concept than object (like Nightmare, Reggie, or Memoria) or more meta characters (TBC, Sassy Chap, and Daemon) since I wanted to focus on ones that are more physically there. (Yes shadows aren’t technically physically there, but they are visible like a physical object is so I counted them. Plus this whole post exists because I had thought about how hard it would be to hide from Skips (and Dorian and Eddie & Volt), so I couldn’t not include him.)

This little guy has been biting ankles!
Front: I’ll deal with his punishment
Trap: Nooo! It was Tiny not me.
Vacuum & Door sandwich, anyone?
Had this commission done by @/just_tori445 on vgen
After the spa day official artwork, I wanted nothing more than to be squished between the Door and the gorgeous vacuum. Hoove has always been a favorite of mine, so this artwork was the best opportunity to put myself (Aster) into the middle of them.
A huge thank you again to Tori for taking my request and making my dreams come true. It's truly such a treat~
