Nin had been hanging out at odd places she didn't really use to frequent much back in the day. The last thing she wanted was to run into any of the Everlys or Dom himself before she was ready for it. She wasn't sure if Dom would even want to see her, if he would ever be ready, or if they would live their lives avoiding each other. It was a bit naive to think none of them would hang out at bars or the new cafe downtown, or the Jefferson Library, but she knew they had a habit of hanging out together back then, and she couldn't remember going out much at all.
She'd been at the library a few times already and noticed the quiet guy behind the desk not doing much at all other than reading himself. It wasn't that she felt bad for him. She knew that being quiet and alone could be the first need for some people, herself included, but sometimes she was dying to have a little bit of a conversation with anybody. Even if it was small talk.
With the excuse of an empty vase she'd seen the last time she was there, Nin chose a few flowers that matched the color scheme of the library, and walked into the building holding a bouquet. She was used to simply nodding and smiling at the guy before heading to her favorite reading nook, but not this time. This time, she walked over to the desk first thing and set the flowers on the counter. "Uh– hi. I know it's weird, but I own the flower shop over at Riverbank. I couldn't help but notice that the vase over there has been empty for a while. I thought these would... brighten up the place a little bit."
