Why don’t Ninja’s in Naruto have summoning tattoos? I mean, a) I know for sure there are scenes where characters use clothing bits that can summon weapons b) tattoos are real in the naruto verse c) it would be cool as fuck.
- huge animal summon tattoos covering their entire backs or stomachs, the animals themselves consider it a sign of mutual trust that a human would do that for a pact
- broken animal summoning pacts are marked by having so much used up space that won’t work anymore. The tattoos with huge slashes from animal companions are brands of shame & distrust that can’t be buried away and forgotten like seals
- arms covered w/ small weapon summoning seals. dozens of circles which each call forth a different type of weapon. Enemy nin have trouble telling which tattoo summons which weapon since each ninja has different placements.
- if someone has respect for an enemy and takes their weapons they’ll replicate their summoning circles exactly
- A ninja might wear less armor to showcase all of their power, but that also sets them back bc, less armor.
- pullaway ninja pants for more covering & tattoo space
- what sort of tattoos someone has can be used to figure out what sort of fighting style they employ
- the patterns for explosion tags on the back of the neck or behind the ears of ninja so, if worse comes to worse, they won’t spill sensitive information. or tattooing explosion tags into the palms of captured enemies so even if they break their chains they still can’t channel chakra through their hands while weaving signs w/o blowing themselves up.
- techniques that can easily cut through & disrupt tattoo patterns rendering them useless until they get redone
- flame techniques which could completely destroy a patch of skin become even more intimidating as tattooing over burn-scar skin is more difficult than normal skin & the whole tattoo would have to be redone
- tattoos that glow with use so if you see something that glows through a shirt or from behind you know something is up
- designs done not just for practicality but for aesthetic as well
- using a cursemark form renders tattoos impossible to use, so seeing someone with only that tiny neck tattoo is confusing to enemy nin
- a binding seal that is only complete when the palms of someone’s hands are pressed next to each other as an easy way to temporary bind someone for a few second
