Pulling those random leaves from the planter did not produce a turnip. The act revealed a small yellow creature wearing leafy clothing.

“Pi Pi??”

Seems like someone in the academy was growing some sort of weird plant.

Oh WOW! What a pretty hat! ...she wonders who would leave such a lovely accessory in the cold, cold cold floor... clearly, a terrible hat owner. That's who! Oh well, time to welcome it to it's new home, her head! Population: her.

Momotaro may not have known the new interns for long, but, they do get some small gifts waiting for them at their doors.

Jinpei gets a batch of gingerbread cat cookies. Cookie cutters were used, but the cookies were soft, with a good balance of sweet and spice. There were also a fair amount of homemade cat paw marshmallows.

Fubuki got a batch of snowflake shaped marshmallows, and a few snowflake shaped gingerbread cookies. They both came with a simple card saying, “Welcome” and “Merry Christmert” (or “Mery Chirmbus”).

...Admittedly it wasn’t much but, one can only do so much when a peach boy was weak from the winter cold.

There was a freshly made crack on the street. To most, it was just some random crack they wouldn’t notice. 

...But this orange haired girl noticed there was a red cat collapsed on the impact site. And that would be of utmost concern, so she ran up to the spot.

Was it against duty to intervene when a potential target is injured? Probably...but Honoka had a soft spot for animals.

“A-Are you okay...? I-I don’t have a first aid kit on hand b-but, oh dear...oh my...”

Upon closer inspection, the cat only had a few bruises. Seems like something large just sent them flying. ...Was it something serious? Doesn’t seem like it but...she needed to check for consciousness first.
