34. when thinking about themselves, are they a soul, a consciousness, or a body? do they think as i, we, or you? (midnight)

i think midnight considers themself more so a consciousness, believing that to be what makes her the person that she is (and i am almost certain that she's presented a research paper on this exact topic in old sharlayan).

she definitely thinks as i. this language vs. you or we feels more appropriate to her when taking responsibility for her actions, whether good or bad.

9. do they fear death or what comes after it? (nir)

nir does not fear either of these things. they've spent a lot of time with viera who have had a lot of time to make sense of death. and living as a wood-warder before their exile, the idea of death (whether considering the possibility of his own or of a potential foe's) was often on his mind.

11. do they have any recurring nightmares? (nir)

nothing that they would consider nightmares, but they do have unsettling dreams sometimes. kinda those half-lucid situations where they understand they are dreaming but can't fully control what they do and sometimes that's a little scary.

20. how do they react when confronted with something they can't explain or don't understand? (bas)

but in a more serious answer, he often approaches things he can't explain or understand with an abundance of wariness. too many past experiences where those things ended up being out to get him.

but he's also of the belief that the quickest way to understanding is to confront that thing head-on. some might call it recklessness. bas would call it recklessness. he would also call it enrichment.

3. do they believe in fate or free will? (yuzu)

for yuzu, it's a little bit of both. he has an understanding that his past choices have had a lot to do with the situations he presently finds himself in. it would be weak and cowardly of him to avoid that responsibility by blaming a nebulous thing like fate.

that being said, it does seem like there are a combination of uncontrollable forces—he might call it fate, he might call it bad luck—that are trying very hard to tell him that his life Will go this one way and he is never going to escape it.
