• sakura haruka

— love at first sight.

it was another normal day. sakura was walking towards cafe pothos to get breakfast before school as always. everything was the same as every other day.

everything— except when he entered pothos, kotoha didn’t greet him like everyday. no— it was someone else. someone who greeted him with a smile so bright, he forgot how to breathe. someone with voice so soft, he wanted to hear it forever. someone with eyes so pretty, he couldn’t look away.

“are you okay?” you asked seeing as he was frozen on the spot for good five minutes now.

sakura snapped out of his daze at the sound of your voice. he realised what just happened and his face flushed bright red as he stuttered his way to his breakfast.

taking his seat he couldn’t help but glance at you as you made him a sandwich. today wasn’t a normal day, today was the day sakura realised he would enjoy coming to pothos a bit more than usual.

— fake dating/flirting.

you pulled suo by his wrist, walking somewhere secluded. he had just pulled the ‘tucking your hair behind your ear’ move in front of his friends and it made you realise it had to stop.

“aren’t you in a hurry?” he said giving his usual irritating smile.

when you were sure, you were far away from the group you dropped his hand and turned to him with a stern expression. today, you were going to put an end to it.

“this needs to stop.” you declared with a firm voice.

suo just tilted his head, confused. “what do you mean?”

you looked at him in disbelief. was he being for real?

“the flirting, suo.”

“why? i know you like it.” he said his annoying smirk returning back to his face.

you sighed, “that’s the problem.” you were looking at the ground now, feeling too flustered to look at him. “it’s getting real.”

suo placed his hand under your chin, lifting it to make you meet his eyes. he didn’t have that annoying smirk anymore, it was more of a genuine smile.

“it was always real.”

• nirei akihiko

— oblivious idiot.

it’s been a year since you met nirei, 11 months since you became friends, 6 months since you realised you were absolutely in love with him and 5 months since you have been dropping hints.

longing stares, lingering touches, frequent texting, canceling plans for him. you have done it all but that oblivious fool still doesn’t get it.

you sighed as you stared at your food not really in the mood to eat. nirei stopped writing in his notebook and looked at you with concerned eyes. “what’s wrong?”

you shook your head, even if you told him what was troubling you, he still wouldn’t get it. “nothing.”

now, nirei completely abandoned his notebook and asked. “it’s not nothing. i can see that.” he tilted his head. he didn’t understand why you were lying to him you told each other everything. well— almost.

suo noticed the atmosphere and took things in his own hands, even a blind person could see how pathetically you were in love with nerei.

“why don’t you tell him already?” his question was directed at you but everyone at the table heard it.

tired, you turned to look at suo, “he wouldn’t get it.”

nirei was now confused beyond hell, “what are you two talking about?”

suo gave you a pointed to look and you turned to nerei to prove your point. “i like you, nirei.” you said, a glint on hope in your eyes.

nerei took a second before smiling and responding, “i like you too.” he nodded proudly.

the hope was replaced with dissapointment once again as you turned to see suo. “see?”

suo laughed at your situation to which you gave him a glare but he didn’t budge. he turned to nirei and spoke right in his face. “she means she likes you, more than friends.”

“like best friends—”

frustrated, you slammed your cutlery on the table, making him flinch and move back a little. “NO— nirei. not as friends or as BEST friends. i am in love with your stupid ass and have been for the past 6 months. you are so stupid you still don’t get it.”

you took a deep breath to calm yourself before sitting down again. everyone in the cafe was looking at nerei now, who was sitting there like a statue still processing your words.

when his brain finally started working, his whole face flushed and he looked at you in utter disbelief.

“WHAT?”

• kiryu mitsuki

— hero saves the damsel.

“you don’t have to be shy, baby.” the ugly one said. you don’t know where he got the confidence from because he looked like someone had just taken a shit on his face.

few minutes ago, a group of guys approached you when you were minding your own business. if it wasn’t creepy enough, one of them approached you to hold your wrist but you swatted his hand away, leading him to saying that.

“i am not shy. i just don’t like you.” you said backing a little. you knew when to stand your ground, if you started giving in to guys like these, rest of the life would be a big nightmare.

he forcefully grabbed your wrist and started dragging you with him. his friend group followed as they laughed and smirked about god knows what.

“hey— let me go! where are you taking—” before you could even finish your sentence your wrist was freed from the monstrous hold as the guy laid on the ground writhing in pain.

it happened in the blink of an eye. all of the guys were on ground groaning and whimpering in pain.

still processing the situation you searched around for the reason when your eyes landed on a pink haired guy. standing in the middle, offering you the most gentle smile you have ever seen.

he walked towards you slowly, this time you didn’t back away. you didn’t feel the need to.

he took your wrist, same one the douche from before was holding.

“it might bruise.” he said examining your wrist.

his hold was gentle, soft and caring. total opposite to what you experienced a few minutes ago. as he looked at your wrist with worry in his eyes, you knew you were done for.

— childhood friends to lovers.

you were in deep shit.

you and tsugeura have been friends for god knows how long. your mothers were best friends, so you practically grew up with tsugeura in your house.

you have always been best friends. always— so you don’t know when or why it turned into something more from your side.

you realised it when you missed his presence a little more than a friend is supposed to, when you were sad and wished he was here to comfort you, when you laughed at his jokes even though they were awful.

yeah, you were in deep shit.

“what’cha zoning out for?” taiga asked waving a hand in front of your face.

you were sitting on the swings with taiga when you returned to your senses. “sorry— you were saying?”

taiga looked at you for few seconds as if analysing you and hummed. “you zone out a lot these days.”

“exam stress.” you quickly made up an excuse because how could you tell him the truth. you, his best friend, was in love with him.

taiga raised an eyebrow, not convinced by your reason. of course he wouldn’t be, he had known you for practically forever.

“what’s on yer mind?” he asked as he stopped swinging.

you gave your swing a little momentum before dropping the question. “taiga, what do you think of our relationship?”

you didn’t have the courage to look at him so you stared at the ground waiting for his answer.

“what do ya mean? we’re friends of course.” he gave you a big smile. the same smile that made you forget all your worries.

you laughed at his answer. “you’re right. just friends.”

you were still looking at the ground when he placed his hands on your face to make you look at him.

“but…”

“but?” you asked, shocked by his actions as traces of hope started bubbling in your heart.

“lately, it’s been a little bit more.”

— grumpy x sunshine.

class 1-1 of furin high was dead silent for the first time in ages. all of the students were standing with their jaw dropped as they gawked at the scene in front of them.

for the first time in history, sugishita was not sleeping. for the first time in history, sugishita did not look repulsed by somebody’s presence.

what surprised them more was that sugishita sat dangerously close to you as you giggled excitedly about something you were showing him on your phone.

some guy even rubbed his eyes when he thought he saw a ghost of smile on sugishita’s face.

and when you took out your bento, and started feeding him, “kyo, say ahhhh.” and he happly accepted the boiled potato you offered him. everyone was questioning reality.

“e-excuse me?” one of the guy approached you timidly.

“yes?” you turned to him with a smile, stopping your task of feeding the grumpiest guy in the world.

“are you an angel— or perhaps a god?” he asked still in disbelief from all that had happened today.

you laughed at his question. “i am flattered but i’d have to disappoint you. i am just a human, like all of you.”

but the thing was, you weren’t like them not in the slightest. you were the only one that had tamed the beast.

• kaji ren

— forced proximity.

“it’s all your fault.” you mumbled under you breath, pissed at kaji.

“what?!” he asked unsure of what he’d heard was right. it was obviously your fault.

“nothing.” you walked towards the different end of the small store room you were trapped in.

kaji stopped kicking the door as he settled down on the other end.

hiragi had tasked you both to find an old record book for him that had you searching for it in this thousand year old store room with an even older gate, that now won’t open.

it was all kaji’s fault. if he wasn’t so busy listening to the song on dangerously high volume he would’ve heard your shouts about the gate closing.

kaji sat on the floor as he sucked on his lollipop, deep in thought. it was all your fault. if you weren’t so invested in that old lamp on the far end of the room you would’ve caught the door before it closed shut.

you both sat in silence for an hour or so, hoping hajime will think something’s wrong and come looking for you.

it was a particularly cold night. one that had you shivering and wrapping your arms around yourself.

kaji noticed this and didn’t think twice before taking off his jacket and offering it you.

you looked at the jacket and then at him. “what?”

“take it.” he shoved it further, face in the other direction. “you need it.”

“i don’t need it. besides, you’ll be cold then.” you mumbled the latter line but it was loud enough for him to hear.

he turned to you. “suit yourself.” and started pulling his hand away but you grabbed it before it could go all the way back. “fine, i’ll take it. you’re unbelievable sometimes. when someone denies it, they’re only being polite.”

he grumbled out a ‘whatever’ before silence took over again.

you stared at him for a few seconds before asking. “can you give me one?”

he looked at you confused.

“the candy. you’re always eating it, i wanna try it.”

“hah? why? buy your own.” he said before munching on his, infuriately.

you scoffed at his behaviour, “rude.”

around 15 minutes later hiragi found you and freed you from the suffocating tension. you returned kaji’s jacket before making your way back.

just as you were about to reach your house, you reached in your pocket for your phone only to find something else there as well.

you took it out to see a lollipop with a pink wrapper. the same one kaji always has in his mouth. you stared at it for a few seconds before mumbling, “what a jerk.”

• togame jo

— second chance.

you still remember the day when jo left you, took the wrong path and changed lion’s head for the worse. he had to do it, he said. there was no other choice, he had to do it for choji.

you hated him for what he did after that. you hated him for how he left you. you hated his face, voice, everything about him.

you hated him yet you still found yourself checking your phone every morning, for that one message. you hated him yet you wished this was all a big nightmare and he was still your boyfriend.

you found out you were lying to yourself when he knocked at your door, all bruised and battered. crying, begging and apologising like he means it.

you didn’t hate him. you could never hate him. specially not when he looked at you with those eyes, a slightest glint of hope behind them. hope that you’d forgive him. hope that you’d take him back.

“you idiot.” you whispered with gloss in your eyes, both of you still standing at your doorstep.

his eyes slightly widened when you spoke to him. god, he missed your voice, your face, everything about you.

he was assured you did too, when you wrapped your arms around him.

• tomiyama choji

— opposites attract.

choji and you couldn’t be more different. he was bright, always laughing, bringing warmth to others. he was like the sun. everyone loved the sun. where as you were quiet and reserved, always alone, minding your own business.

that’s why you were confused as to why he approached you. why he befriended you.

“choji?” your voice was soft as you called out to him.

he turned to you with his big bright eyes and a smile to match. “yeah?”

“why do you talk to me?” you asked.

he tilted his head confused, “what do you mean?”

“i mean— no one else does. they don’t even care i exist. why do you?”

choji was so bright that sometimes his brightness shined on you. just like moon shined with sun’s light. you were afraid that the shine would go away like others and you’d be left in the dark again.

but you worries were casted aside when choji laughed at your question. “why shouldn’t i?”

• umemiya hajime

— best friends brother.

you and kotoha have been best friends for forever. you shared everything. secrets, clothes, amenities. everything. which meant you also shared a certain light haired boy in your life.

umemiya was not like other guys you’d seen. he was friendly despite being the strongest at furin. he did not have the slightest tinge of ego.

umemiya loved three things— his sister, the town including guys at furin and his garden.

only three things, so he definitely wouldn’t have time for someone else in his life. you always thought he did not have the slightest interest in you.

however, you were always left doubting when he would act protective of you, proudly show you his new garden vegetables or shower you with so much gifts just because.

right now, you had the biggest doubt when he dragged you to the rooftop garden to show you his new plants. daffodils— your favourite flower. layers of it blossoming between the vegetables he usually grows.

“what do you think? you like ‘em?”

you teared your gaze from the yellow strips of flower to look at him, mouth agape. “why….”

he sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck at your reaction. “just thought you’d like them.”

yeah, you don’t plant dozen strips of someone’s favourite flowers ‘just because’ specially when you only grow vegetative plants.

it was safe to say, umemiya loved four things— his sister, the town including guys at furin, his garden and you.

Umemiya – peels clementine for you

He knows how much you love clementine. He also knows you hate having clementine’s skin under your nails. So he’s always peeling it before you can even ask for it when he sees you taking one. He gives it back to you as clean as he can and doesn’t even expect a thank you, it feels like a second nature to do so. You always kiss him, it doesn’t matter if it’s his cheek, lips or arm – you will.

Sugishita – bring you stuff from the store

If you mention that you need anything, forget to buy it or just feel like something particular – he will bring it to you. He knows which brand to take and your favorite flavors, he never misses. He’s also not shy to take things like pads for afab!reader but there you might receive a message asking for more information. It’s not rare for him to bring you anything you asked at school directly.

Nirei – order for you

He knows your order by heart, in every cafe or small restaurant you go. Knows how much sugar you take, which syrup and he’s precise on the things you take out of your order as well. But it goes to the point that he recommends things he tried that can match your taste and he’s usually right ! If you’re a picky eater, he’s extra careful because he knows it can ruin your day and he for sure doesn't want that. You’re always safe to go to the bathroom and leave it to him.

Suo – guide you

When he notices you’re on your phone or not paying attention, he instantly takes your hand or takes your arm with his so you don’t have to pay attention to what’s going on around – he’s doing it for you. You can be zoning out or simply reading on your phone – or looking for a cute cafe you can’t remember the name and he’s there, smiling softly at how cute you are, relying on him without a second thought. He loves the fact that you trust him this much, he wants you to.

Sakura – hold things for you

He doesn’t know what to do with his hands around you, so he’d rather help you instead of being awkward. With time, it just became a habit, you’re rarely seen with a bag around him, or it’s only because he already has a few himself ! It goes for your phone, sunglasses – anything ! He’s always there if you need a free hand to search for anything or if it’s too heavy for you.

Kaji – remember things for you

You don’t have to be a forgetful person, he just keeps track for you even more if you feel overwhelmed. He’s your cold head and tells you what you just said you needed or what you had to do. He also takes note of your appointment if you mention it to him and reminds you just in case.

Hiragi – carry your medicine as well

The last thing he wants is for you to feel bad, in any kind of way but if you have a specific treatment – he has it on him as well. No question asked, from a headache to an asthma attack or even painful period cramp, he has everything you need on him too so you don’t have to worry too much. He’s globally taking good care of you if you’re sick or feeling bad.

Tsubaki – put spf on you

He reminds you all the time to do it in the first place, but when you’re out together and it’s sunny he does it himself. Not on your face if you wear makeup – but if you don’t, expect him to put some on your nose and cheeks before you get bright red. He’s also taking extra care of your nape and back and you’re so thankful for that. He’s just the sweetest. If, by misfortune, you still end up with a sunburn he will put after-sun lotion on it for you too.

SAKURA HARUKA

nicknames / f!reader

"baby~ need me to put some sunscreen on your back?" you grab the sunscreen spray and get up on your knees. you giggle as you see a faint blush on your boyfriend's face. "don't need any sunscreen," sakura mumbles, avoiding any eye contact with you.

you wrap your arms around his neck from the back, leaning down before brushing his ear with your lips. "nuh-uh, you do need it.."

"close your eyes, okay?"

he grumbles a bit before obliging and allowing himself to melt in your embrace.

the first spray was cold, albeit the warm weather, it still gave sakura the chills. but he forgets about the cold sensation once he feels your soft hands, massaging the sunscreen onto his skin. your fingers slowly gliding from his shoulders to his upper back.

sakura almost missed the cold feeling of the second spray because he was too focused on how warm your hands felt om him. your hands gently making their way to his lower back.

then the third spray- your fingers suddenly stop moving. his eyes jump open, his eyebrows are up in confusion, where did the warn sensation of your touch go? he looks to the back to see you waving to a group of people on the other side of the beach.

"haru', i'm gonna go say hello to some old friends! give me a minute or two, and I'll be back, yeah?" you tell him all giddy before heading to your old friend group.

a huff leaves sakura's lips, just a tad bit annoyed some randoms stole your attention. he meticulously follows you with his eyes as you make your way to the group. sakura internally scolds himself for not telling you to wear something on top of your little two piece bikini. don't get him wrong! he thinks you look gorgeous, stunning even! but now he has to restrain himself from going over there and punching the guy who's been undressing you with his eyes the second you greeted the group.

his teeth are clenched, the veins in his neck are popped while he struggles to stay put and not make a scene. sakura knows you don't like it when he starts a fight, that's why he's using up all the patience he has to prevent himself from beating the guy. if it were up to him, he would've started a fight the moment that weirdo started smiling at you like that! who does he think he is? does he really think he stands a chance with someone like you? funny.

sakura doesn't even know what you see in him, but there's absolutely no way he's going to stand by while some sicko is flirting with his girlfriend!

as if on cue, you bump into sakura the moment he started agigatedly stomping your direction. "eh? you miss me already?" a giggle leaves your mouth as you wrap your arms around your boyfriend's neck. "I didn't know you needed me around so badly!" another silly joke of yours flew right past sakura, his attention still being at your former friend group.

"hey..! what're you looking at?" your head spins to the same direction sakura's looking at before you notice he's glaring at your old friend. after a while the realization hit; your tsundere boyfriend was jealous! ah, lovely, another thing to tease him about!

"baby~ are you jealous I was talking to him?" you laugh, turning his head to face you.

"w-what?! of course not! w-what are you on, you weirdo!" he stumbles backward a bit before gaining his balance again, your arms now detached from his neck. sakura continues to mumble, "he- he should just stop lookin' at you like that.." your raise your eyebrows as you see a blush creeps up on his face.

you bite the inside of your lip, trying your hardest to keep yourself from smiling. "like what haru'? hm?"

"you know what I mean."

you reconnect your hands with his neck, tilting your head to the side. "no~ I don't!"

"[ ♡ ]!" your first name rolls off of his tongue so smoothly, reminding him not everyone can call you that. not everyone could stand as close to you as he is standing right now. not everyone could feel your hot breath on their skin as your fingertips slowly caress their neck. and even if they could, he wouldn't let them. you're his and his only.

"like you're his girlfriend, cause you're not! he should know his damn place.." sakura sighs before hiding his face in the crook of your neck, hesitantly wrapping his arms around your waist. "y-you're mine. just- just don't forget that.."

you gulp as you stand in the middle of the beach, completely enveloped by your boyfriend, not able to move an inch because of the way he's holding you. you receive glances from passers-by but you don't care enough right now. he called you his, it felt as though you could've squealed when he uttered those 3 words.

but truth be told, you are most definitely his, and his only.

SUO HAYATO

"but- it looked so cute!" you protest, your eyebrows furrowed as you look at your boyfriend rolling his eyes playfully.

"hey now, I thought i already told you that it definitely carries like atleast 10 diseases," suo glances at you, noticing your lips were still pouted, "look, if you had touched it, you'd probably have ended up in a hospital, we don't want that now, do we pretty?" suo lets out a chuckle.

you slightly shake your head before intertwining your fingers with his.

he lets out a quiet sigh before admitting, "it did look cute, though.." you giggle at your boyfriend's statement, your giggles mixing with his chuckle.

suddenly, you hear a small thud, which makes you swiftly turn your head to the side at the sound of something falling.

"ah! su', gimme a minute, stay here with the bags please!" you let go of his hand as you make your way to the guy who had dropped some boxes. you get down and start helping him put the items back in the boxes. "h-hey, thanks for helping out!" the guy spills out before he continues grabbing his stuff, his hand accidentally touching yours as you both go to grab the water bottle. awkwardly laughing it off, you two finish up refilling the box.

little do you know on the other side of the street suo drops the shopping bags he was holding for you, he doesn't care less what could happen to those pretty pink bags filled with cute dresses you tried on earlier in the shops, which you decided were essential additions to your already filled to the brim closet. if the bags would end up stolen, suo would buy you new ones anyway. so they weren't that important right now.

not when some guy was gushing at his girlfriend. not when that same stranger had touched your hand, which only he was allowed to do. and oh, definitely not when he had the courage to shove his phone in your pretty hands, waiting for you to put your number in.

"[ ♡ ]," suo calls out your name as he reaches you. "we should go, sweetheart, we told the others we'd be at kotoha's in 10," he forces a smile before taking the guy's phone out of your hand and pointing it towards him. "yours?" cold, that was the only way to describe your boyfriend, whose smile had disappeared into thin air, tone.

the guy who you were so innocently helping earlier, started awkwardly thanking the both of you before hastily making his way to his car.

"ah, su'! my bags!" you sprint to the shopping bags on the other side of the street, worriedly checking if all the items were still inside. "everything's still inside?" your boyfriend's smile was showing again.

you nod as he grabs the bags in one hand and locks his other hand with yours. this time with a tighter grip, the last thing he'll allow is for you to stray from him again.

"stay close to me now, alright pretty? don't let go of my hand."

and you could've sworn you saw him clench his jaw before relaxing it and sending you his signature smile again. "love you."

NIREI AKIHIKO

no warnings, just nirei being adorable

how did nirei even get himself into this situation? no, but really, how? it was a perfect day; sunny weather with clouds nowhere in sight, nirei was hanging out with the people he loved being around, his friends, and of course, you! yet somehow, he finds himself in the bookstore, ignoring his friends' stories.

he isn't purposely ignoring them! it's just hard to listen to them when his, his girlfriend is being hit on by the employee.

you were talking him about how badly you wanted to read this book. it was of a psychological genre, and when you explained the story premise to your boyfriend, he got totally spooked by it! but when you two and your friends got to the store, you couldn't find it at all..

you were searching for an employee to help you find it as your earlier attempt with nirei and the others weren't really successful.

but, oh, the regret nirei's feeling right now about letting you go off on your own to find someone to help is absolutely tearing him apart! he doesn't want to seem like the possessive type by waltzing over there and snaking an arm around you, but he can't stand witnessing one more second of that guy flirting with you!

"hmm, what're you gonna do now, huh nirei?" suo teases the blond, elbowing kiryu to witness nirei's predicament.

"hah? you gonna let 'em take your girl, eh nirei?" kiryu chuckles, playfully pushing his shoulder.

nirei shakes his head before sending yet another glare at the employee. he was an older man, way too old to even think about flirting with you. what's worse is that you were completely oblivious to the situation, you probably just thought he was being friendly!

that's it. with that thought flowing in nirei's brain he makes his way to you.

"h-hey! you find the book yet, sweetheart?"

nirei usually sticks to calling you by your name or nickname, occasionally even calling you baby. but never had he called you sweetheart before. so that was what caught your attention.

"yes, darling, I have!" you giggle as you decide to play along this game of his, oblivious to the way your boyfriend's staring at the older man, waiting for him to get the hint and back off.

"well.. I'll be going then.." the employee abruptly leaves, after rolling his eyes at you two.

nirei's knot in his stomach finally seems to loosen as he intertwines his fingers with yours. "glad you found it," your blond boyfriend sends you a cheeky smile.

"thank you, sweetheart!"

"SWEETHEART?!" tsugeura yells out, fake-fainting into kiryu's arms. the pink-haired individual struggling with keeping tsugeura on his feet. "y-yo, you're 'bout to make me trip!"

suo smiles widely, one of his hands on nirei's shoulder. "my, my, you've progressed a lot in the past 5 minutes, haven't you? you even got sakura blushing like crazy.."

"hey shut up!" sakura hides his face behind the book he was holding, pretending he was checking it out. mind you, it was upside down..

"ah! mitsuki, look at this top, isn't it adorable?!" completely in love with the clothing piece, you show it to your boyfriend, waiting for his opinion on it.

"mhm, it'd look so pretty on you. and it'd fit with your new shoes!" kiryu adds, slightly wiggling his eyebrows up and down to convince you the top is a must-have! "come on~, tried it on for me."

kiryu locks his hands with yours before pulling you along with him to the dressing rooms.

you hand your boyfriend your handbag and jacket before picking out where you'll try the top on. "I'll be quick, kay?" you tell him, earning a smiley nod from him.

after some time, kiryu sees your hand coming out of the dressing room, signing to him to come in. chuckling, he goes into the small space.

"baby, look how small it is! 's like a baby size.." you mumble, still trying to adjust the top.

the back of your top gets adjusted by kiryu before he shakes his head, "baby-, I'll just go grab another size for you. this size could actually be a baby's size.." you giggle as you nod, planting a quick kiss on his cheek before letting him go look for a different size.

kiryu searches at the original spot, but he doesn't seem to find the other sizes. after a long while of searching and asking the employees, going through 3 floors searching for the top, and then suddenly remembering there's a fourth floor, kiryu finally finds the infamous top.

this piece of fabric better be the best clothing piece ever.

with the top in his, your boyfriend makes his way back to you, eager to see you wearing the right size this time.

he turns the corner to get to the dressing rooms when he hears your voice. you're sitting on the couch, talking to some guy. that isn't a bad thing, it really isn't! what is, though, is the fact that the guy was giving you heavy heart eyes as he grabbed your phone to add his number. like yes, you're pretty, gorgeous, stunning, but you're taken, so no, thank you!

"h-hey.. maybe we should y'know go there togeth-"

"hey, princess, I found your top," kiryu walts over to the sofa, standing in front of the two of you. his smile disappears almost immediately once he shifts his gaze to the man next to you. "and you are?"

you widen your eyes a bit at your boyfriend's sharp tone. "baby-," you mumble

kiryu's fixed stare started to make him feel fiddly as he starts awkwardly laughing. "h-hey man, didn't know she was taken.. was just hitting up a pretty girl, right?" he chuckles before standing up.

"mhm, next time, don't hit on my pretty girl, yeah?"

another awkward laugh flows out of the man's mouth as he leaves the dressing rooms.

"mitsuki-"

"don't even get me started," kiryu hands you the top. he motions for you to try I on before plopping on the couch again, still annoyed at the individual trying to get with his pretty girlfriend.

but all that pent-up annoyance and frustration suddenly goes right out the window when he sees you walking out of the fitting room. wow, you look incredible.

the way the top hugs your figure so elegantly yet somehow still remains a casual vibe, surprises him.

"baby? what do you think?"

"you look so pretty, princess.." kiryu wraps his arms around your waist before pulling you closer to him. "you always do."

kiryu's bank account might be experiencing an existential crisis because of all the items he bought you, but he couldn't care less when he sees you smile like that.

where is that damn soda of yours?! kaji's been roaming the grocery store, searching for another soda for you because you were all "baby, they're buy 1 get 1 free!". and how could he tell you he wasn't in the mood to go to the back of the store to get it for you when you were puppy-eyeing him.

if kusumi were there with him, kaji just knows he'd be poking fun at him, calling him a simp again.

finally, he found the bottled soda! he angrily grabbed it, making his way back to you, who stayed in line, waiting for your turn at the cash register.

kaji moves past families with full carts, jumps over children playing on the ground, and almost knocks over a fabric softener stand.

reaching the line at the register, he hears your laugh and follows it past the others in line to get to you. wait, who were you laughing at? as he stands behind you, you turn around to greet him.

"baby! this is kai, he was telling me all about some trivia about fruits!" you giggle, waiting for ren to greet the man in front of you, who had reached out his hand to him.

your boyfriend only stares at him before the man retrieves his hand, uncomfortably running it through his hair before letting out a forced chuckle.

you smile awkwardly, turning your head a little to kaji's side. "ren. be nice," you warn with a smile still on your face.

"anyway, did you know figs aren't fruits! they're inverted flowers, isn't that crazy?" you start rambling, hoping to dissipate the awkward situation. you were completely amazed at what the stranger told you. unbeknownst to you though, kaji was fuming, he was humming at your rambles whilst scowling at the man in front of you.

you should've seen how the stranger was looking at you before kaji stood next to you! his toothy smile, flirtatious glances, the man even playfully touched your shoulder. but you, of course, being the clueless person you are, thought he was just being friendly!

as you ended your newly learned trivia about fruits, you saw the man grabbing his stuff and hastily walking off.

"y-yeah well, was nice to meet you too.. bye.." the guy turns around, not even sparing you another glance.

kaji rolls his eyes as you too load up your groceries in a bag and start heading out.

"baby, you were so rude!" you state while taking a sip from your soda, and then offering it to him. "the guy was just being nice.."

grabbing the sods, kaji lets out a scoff. unamused with your cluelessness. "the guy was trying to get in your pants," kaji's eyes shot down, only to see you were wearing a skirt. "..uh skirt, whatever, you know what I'm getting at..!"

"ren, you're exaggerating so much it's starting to give me a headache!" you joke, locking your arm with his.

another sigh leaves kaji's mouth. "baby, why else would a guy randomly tell a pretty girl some shitty trivia in a grocery store if not to get close to you?!"

a moment of silence lingers between the two of you before you look back at your boyfriend. "... you think I'm pretty?" you deadpan, holding in your laugh as you see kaji literally breaking.

He will make this cute elaborate, yet simple date that has you in awe that he even thought of it, and it's all for you. But Umemiya doesn't kiss on the first date. He's deeper than that. He wants to get to know you. Show you his garden. Flaunt his tomatoes. Ask what you're into and what your hobbies are so he can experience them too. And trust me, Umemiya has thought about it. His eyes have glanced to your lips many a times on a couple dates yet he hasn't kissed you yet. Now here's where we get to to the juicy part, why? Because he doesn't actually make the first move! He's being too much of a gentleman and getting to know you that he wants to show no disrespect towards you. But you can see it. And there you are, hoping he might get the message after quite a few times of hanging out together. But...he wont... so you have to take it into your own hands! This is not a situation where he kisses first. No no. This is a situation where you guys are walking home. Specifically, he's walking YOU home after hanging out with you all day. You guys are at the door and saying your goodbyes and see ya later when you can't take it anymore. You want him to know you like him and who cares if it ruins it. At this point you have to. You make the first move and press your lips firmly to his. Honestly, he might even be talking. But all you can focus on are his pretty lips so you of course you take the jump. ◈ Nirei and his book... Everything he needs to know is in that book. There's nothing he can't/won't try to figure out when it comes to someone around him. You though, you're a bit tricky. Of course he wants to give you the most respect possible. The last thing he wants to do is disrespect you. So he jots it down. Everything about you. Mostly it's information that you've given him. He just feels weird if he's gathering intel on the person he likes when it's not from them. But what he does get from you is what you like. Things. Food. Books. Movies. How you look at people. How you look at him. How you talk. Your vernacular. The only thing he can not gather from you is how you like to be kissed. Do you like to be swept off your feet? Do you want it to be sensual? Playful? Secret? All these things are things that Nirei just can't get out of you without you realizing that he wants to kiss you. So, I mean, how can he do it right if he doesn't have the right intel? This isn't something he can go ask Suō advice from. Or even Umemiya. This is personal. For him and you only. He plays out so so so so many different scenarios in his head. Even jotting a few down in his book. But none of it feels right and he can't understand why. It isn't until you two are hanging out. You're wearing what he deems to be a pretty cute outfit, and lets be real, so do you - that's why you wore it. But it all get's to be too much. There's so many thoughts racing around his this poor man's head. He can't take it anymore. He'll silently grab your hand, making you look back him him. Confused why he just grabbed your hand out of no where and wondering what's going on. You might ask "Nirei? What's wrong?" But he won't answer. He can't answer. Because if he uses his voice it might crack. He might not say what he needs to say. So instead he looks into your eyes. His own as soft as ever with a hint of something you can't make out. You honestly don't know what he's planning or what he's even thinking. He crashes his lips to yours. Somehow it's not clunky. It might be hard, but it's needy. Both his hands come up to your face, cupping your cheeks and deepening the kiss until he feels you kissing him back. There's no way he's pulling away or giving up on this. He needs to feel you press back into the kiss to show him this wasn't the wrong move. When you do, his body relaxes. His hands fall to the sides of your neck and the kiss softens. Thank goodness this wasn't the wrong move.

Kiryū Mitsuki

◈ Kiryū ... is SO chill. There is no doubt about that. He might not always show his true emotions all the time, as he's smiling for the most part. But his sweet, "wanting to talk things through" nature is the reason you love him so much in the first place. With him being so chill, he's a great friend, and an even greater person to hang out with. When he realizes he might actually like you more than just a friend he'll sit on it for a hot second. He won't go in and take initiative right away. He's going to read the room and see how emotions are all across the board. If he thinks that you'll like him back the way he likes you then yeah, he's gonna go for it! That being said, he isn't some scum that just likes to get with people because he can. He has feelings too and he's well aware of them. What he won't do though, is beat around the bush. If he ends up liking you more than a friend then he's going to show and tell you as much. Now when it comes to the first kiss, it's not going to be public and it's not going to be plastered so everyone can see it. It's going to be private. Like in his room, when you two are hanging out. He might be playing a game and ask if you want to take a shot at it. When you grab the phone or console, he'll watch you play for a moment. Then his eyes will shift front he game, to you. Scanning over all of your features. His heart might be pounding a little. I mean, he is still human after all. But after a few moment's he'll say your name making you look at him. He'll ask, "What if I wanted to kiss you right now?" His expression soft with one of his eyebrows slightly raised. If you say no, then so be it. No, it would be. But the moment you say "I'd um, I'd actually love that." or some form of acceptance of what he just told you, he's slow and delicate. He'll get closer to you until your faces are inches away from each other. His breath might hitch but that's okay, so will yours. And then you'll feel his warm soft lips on your own. He has an excellent skin care routine, so you instantly get lost in the kiss and you go elsewhere. Kiryū's mind threatens to do the same thing, but he knows he has to stay grounded to pull away when you've completely melted into him. And of course he has to smile and say thank you in the sweetest whisper possible while looking into your awe struck eyes.

Sugishita Kyōtarō

◈ Sugishita ... this poor poor innocent and unknowing soul. He- he has a hard time with emotions and he has a hard time expressing them. Honestly, if you aren't Umemiya, he doesn't give anyone much of a thought...except maybe you. You've caught his eye? His heart? Head? He can't tell but he know's that he gets super shy when you're around and he can feel his heart pounding. However, it might be because you have some similar morals as the white haired leader of Bofurin. Or he just plain thinks you're down right cute. Which lets be real- you are! But besides that there is no thought process on how to further interaction between the two of you in his head. All of the things that happen between you two are because you're doing them. You're getting drinks. You're sitting with him silently since he's not much of a talker, and to you that's quite okay. What I'm getting at here is that he definitely doesn't make the first move. And really it takes a long time to even get to the first kiss, as you don't want to rush him or make him feel uncomfortable either. That being said, you take your time and he starts to open up to you. Telling you about things that make him happy. Granted it's probably a lot about Umemiya but you can understand why. And such admiration is such a beautiful trait a man could have. With you though, you really don't want to ruin anything. The thought of him not liking you back really digs deep into your brain. So you do the next best thing. You kiss his cheek. It's when the two of you are quietly sitting next to each other. You muster up the courage to do so. His cheek is warm and soft and honestly it might have surprised you a little. But oh man does it most definitely surprise Sugishita soooo much more! Instantly his cheeks get red and hot. You can see it when you pull back from him. You aren't sure if it was a good idea or not until he moves his hand to his cheek and smiles, slowly looking over at you. He might ask "What was that for..?" completely unaware that you might have actually liked him in a way that would be more than a friendship. It definitely is a lot for the poor guy, but he doesn't freak out- too much. He'll keep his hand on his cheek for a good bit of time and you two will continue to be together either silently or begin to talk about something interesting. Both of you curious for what's to come of this.

He kept insisting that he was fine and was able to take care of himself, but you wouldn't budge no matter how much he argued back. Due to his sickened condition, his energy to complain was quickly drained out. In the end, he let you do your thing and even tuck him to bed. You watched him close his eyes, cool cloth placed on his forehead as his brows let loose and his breathing calming down. The sight made you feel slightly more at ease. Before deciding to leave, you placed a quick peck on his forehead and whispered, “Get well soon, sweetheart.” His fever rose higher the next day.

— HAYATO SUO | He was always the one to initiate something unexpected, which made you determined to get back at him for once. You walked home with him holding an umbrella under the rain, and you saw how he was focused on the road. Seeing the clear opportunity, you went on your tippy toes and squeezed your eyes shut, kissing his cheek before looking away flustered. His eyes went wide for a moment, before smiling and retorting, “My, my. I see you've gotten quite bold, my dear.” Although he was smooth with it, he internally admitted your attempt in catching him off guard was successful.

— REN KAJI | A pout has been tugging his lips all morning. Ever since you came along with him on patrol, you felt the grumpy aura he emitted despite him acting all nonchalant with it. Little did you know that he was sulking. When he came to pick you up this morning, he reached out a hand to hold yours when you turned back to retrieve something; when he considered to lend you his headphones, you bumped into Sakura and the gang; when he reattempted to hold your hand, Lisa came jumping into your arms. He was fuming. Thankfully, at the end of the day, you realized. “Ren?” He looked at you silently, waiting for you to continue as he rolled the sucker in his mouth. “Can you take the candy out real quick, please?” He was confused, but complied either way. With that, you leaned in and pressed a chaste kiss on his lips, before pulling back with a fond smile. He was confused yet again, but this time, he wrapped his arms around your waist and nuzzled into the crook of your neck, relishing in the feeling of finally being able to hold you.

— HAJIME UMEMIYA | Today was a gardening date, where you'd help him out with his garden at the rooftop. Like usual, he proudly exclaims how the plants have grown fast and healthy. It was like seeing a proud father boasting about his children. His smile when he held up two pots of tomatoes was brighter than the sun that was shining upon the both of you, and it was endearing to the point where you couldn't help it anymore. You quickly cupped his face and pressed your lips against his before pulling back and saying, “My sweet, gardener boyfriend.” He immediately placed down the pots, almost dropping them before swooping you up in his arms and twirling you in the air.

— JO TOGAME | You looked up at the sky, hearing cracks of fire as it bloomed into colorful sparks. After strolling through stalls and winning prizes, the festival's main occasion finally made its arrival. Turning to your boyfriend next to you, you tugged at his sleeve and called out to him quietly, “Jo…” gesturing that you had something to say. Just as he leaned down to listen, you gently pulled his face and connected your lips to his. He didn't see that coming, but he wasn't going to complain as he wasted no time and melted into the kiss– pulling you closer by the waist and savoring this sweet moment under the flashing fireworks that lit up the sky above.

— MITSUKI KIRYU | Nothing wrong with taking a break from your small screen gadgets and entertain yourself with something slightly more traditional. Other than the games on his phone, Kiryu was surprisingly good at the ones at the arcade as well. From basketball toss to Pac-Man, you both competed on who could earn the most tickets. Of course, he was taking the lead. He was currently focused on the spinning light, calculating the right moment to press the button and hit the jackpot. When suddenly you leaned over and kissed him on the cheek, causing him to lose focus and accidentally push down the button, missing the awaited jackpot. “Hey, that was cheating.” He still won in the end, but gave his tickets to you anyway.

— CHIKA TAKIISHI | He always looked so aloof– like there were no literal fucks he'd seriously give, and everything others say were just a broken TV's buzzing. Oddly enough, you found that trait to be adorable. Sometimes, you find yourself gazing and staring at his majestic self as he looks off into somewhere or nowhere, holding the familiar empty gaze you've grown used to. He’s decked out in the white, tunic type shirt (with the frills and everything) and black dress pants, and a long cape tied around his shoulders, the inside’s red. You comb his hair back and get those good vampire teeth, and if you’re lucky he’ll let you leave bite marks on his neck—

Now you attempt to kill him by wearing a cute frilly top too, but it’s quite low cut, and the cut pushes your chest up waaay more than he can handle. The skirt’s not short but it’s got a slit up the side that goes hiiiigh, and you’ve got lace gloves to match.

Does he go out with you? Yes, you two get gushed over for being such a cute couple. Does he lose his sanity bit by bit everytime he looks at you? Also yes.

ꜱᴜᴏ:

I had an idea, then went “this is for Umemiya” so here’s my second idea! A flapper and a gangster, a la 1920’s America. Twist— he’s the flapper, you’re the gangster.

He’s got the fringe black top, a tank top, and tight, tight black dress pants, that he’s able to move in like they’re nothing. Black gloves, they don’t go up his arms, but they sit nicely on his hands (and stay cool every-time his hands on your waist or arm). He’s also got the little feather hairband, and switches out his earrings for long pearl ones.

You’ve got on form fitting dress pants, black and white vertical stripes, a white button up, and a black vest. All fit you very nicely cause somehow your amazing boyfriend “found” a suit that had your exact measurements! You’ve also dawned yourself with a fancy fedora.

It doesn’t stay on your head for long, but rather Suo ends up taking it, swapping your head pieces after a bit. You ever heard about taking a cowboy’s hat? Same concept here.

You were probably hoping to get one up in the fluster games, but alas, you lose big time. Suo knows how to rock the look, and rock it he does.

ɴɪʀᴇɪ:

We’re still going iconic, but it’s Nirei so it’s more cute iconic.

Someone had to do it— Jack Skellington and Sally.

He gets the black and white striped suit, and gets Tsubakino’s help painting his face white with all the skull decorations. Somehow he still looks dapper despite being painted to look like a skeleton. You two got this idea from a movie date earlier in the month, and he was so nervous to bring it up to you.

Tsubakino definitely helps you as well, as Sally’s look is a bit more intricate! But you get the dress and the makeup and Nirei’s terrified to even hold your hand cause he’s worried he’ll ruin your look!

One main reason he had to choose a costume with a jacket was he knew it would be chilly and he wanted to offer you his jacket, like a true gentleman. He’s vibrating most of the night, waiting for the wind on the roof to get a little too chilly so he could take off the jacket and place it around you. He’s so nervous when you do comment about it being cold he almost throws it entirely in his haste, but the jacket ends up warm around you.

ᴛꜱᴜʙᴀᴋɪɴᴏ:

You’d think I would have had this one first cause he’s my favorite but I actually struggled. Doing this with fem!reader in mind I didn’t wanna take lesbians couples cause sure they might work but… it felt wrong. So I did the next best thing.

Velma and Daphne!

Tsubakino goes as Velma, a red, short skirt that matches the red in his hair, as well as the highest red heels you’ve ever seen. Yet he still walks in them like they’re nothing. The orange sweater’s both soft and comfortable, he’s not getting too hot and it hugs his biceps far too perfectly to be on accident. Also the orange thigh highs? Tight enough that even with all his muscle there’s a little pudge at the top??? And with the glasses—

You’ve got Daphne, the iconic purple dress just as short as Tsubakino’s skirt, sheer tights and purple heels. The green ascot is Tsubakino’s favorite part of the costume— he can loop his fingers through it and pull you in for a kiss whenever he wants, and you oblige each and every-time.

Also I had the idea that at some point y’all go freshen up and come back in swapped costumes, like that nightgown scene with Velma and Daphne.

ᴜᴍᴇᴍɪʏᴀ:

Gomez and Morticia Addams. There. I said it.

Do you two necessarily fit the dark aesthetic they have? No! You know what you two do fit???

His hair’s semi down, some curls around his face (per your request) he does have a fake mustache on which is a little silly at first. But the suit and tie? Form fitting, and the perfect tie to grab and pull him down to kiss you, as you do most of the night and he always merrily goes along. And when he’s cooking food for everyone and the suit jacket’s laying on your shoulders, and he rolls his sleeves up showing his forearms—

Moving on.

You’ve got the classic Morticia dress, black and slim, low cut top. Your nails are long and sharp, painted a matching black, and your lipsticks a bright red that everyone can clearly see smudged on Umemiya’s lip, on Umemiya’s neck, on Umemiya’s—

He also grew a bouquet of roses for you you carry everywhere with you. He didn’t even plan for it to match the costumes he was going to grow them for you either way!

ʜɪʀᴀɢɪ:

This is just pure vibes, please bear with me once more; Spike and Faye from Cowboy Bebop.

Though the suit's mildly stupid-looking (maybe I'm alone with this thought) Hiragi wears it. The dark blue looks so freaking good on him, and you enjoy yourself grabbing him by the tie on occasion, trying your best to fluster him by pulling him down for a quick kiss or to whisper in his ear. He doesn't spike his hair up, letting you run your fingers through it to give it a messy vibe, and run your fingers through it you do.

Now you've got the yellow mini shorts (throw back to Hiragi's "my girl can wear what she wants cause she was a hoe and I knew that before we started dating") those pinkish thigh highs that drive Hiragi insane, yellow cropped top and the red shirt on top.

Poor Sakura can't look at you all night, you broke the poor first year.

Instead of figuring out those weird ass... suspenders? she wears you opt for black lingerie that peeks up above your shorts. if anyone glances, they assume it's part of the costume, but based on the way it sits and the color Hiragi knows exactly what you're wearing underneath

First of all— good luck. Is he against couple things? No. Is he terrified of the attention you two will get which will also include Umemiya fawning over “one of Hiragi’s baby’s growing up!”? Yes.

So you two settle on: Sandy and Danny from Grease!

The costumes are simple enough that it can pass off as a vibe and doesn’t draw too much attention so Kaji can breathe. But it's also a canon couple so he feels mildly accomplished as a boyfriend for doing a couple's costume for you two.

You manage to convince him to let you slick his hair back, and he only slightly loses his mind when someone tells him it makes him resemble Umemiya. The outfit's simple: black jeans and a black t-shirt, and his never-ending supply of lollipops comes in handy to pose as the "cigarette". It's so simple, but seeing him in such a relaxed-looking outfit has your heart racing.

You've got Sandy's end outfit; the off-the-shoulder black top (Kaji's taken one of your shoulders as a rest spot for him, planted behind you, arms wrapped around your waist, chin resting on the exposed skin), black leather (fake) pants, and the red heels (Tsubakino lent you a pair). Kaji shares his candy with you as the "cigarette" once more, but after you finish your first one, you take it upon yourself to steal his and use that as your prop.
