hello hello!! I hope you're doing great! Could you write something about Umemiya x reader x Tsubakino? Like them in a poly relationship? Just if you feel comfortable of course
ᯓ★ BETTER TOGETHER | wbk
synopsis. maybe love doesn’t have to mean choosing one person when your heart has room for both. ft. hajime umemiya & tasuku tsubakino x reader
tw. poly relationship, gn! reader, use of y/n & pet names
soft sunlight spilled gold across the very planter boxes umemiya spent the whole week fussing over, who’s currently misting a row of seedlings.
you sat beside your boyfriend, tsubakino, the two of you watching from the old bench as painted nails gently card through your hair.
“you’re spoiling them again,” he sighed toward the white haired male fondly. “i swear those tomatoes get more attention than half the first-years.”
umemiya only laughed, the sound rumbling through his chest as he glanced back at the two of you. “they’re part of the family. just like you two.” his eyes crinkled at the corners when they landed on you. “and you, [y/n], c’mere. you’ve been running around all day helping with patrols.”
he didn’t wait for an answer to reach out and hook an arm around your waist, pulling you properly into his side. you went willingly, melting against the solid warmth of him while tsubaki immediately shifted to keep contact, draping himself along your back like a very stylish, very affectionate blanket.
“see?” tasuku murmured near your ear, pressing a quick kiss to your temple. “this is the best seat in the whole school. right between the two of us.” soft fingers found yours and laced them together, thumb stroking over your knuckles. “isn’t that right, sweetheart?” he glanced toward the other with an expectant look.
hajime hummed in agreement with a grin. “of course it is!” his own free hand came up to cover both of yours, big and gentle. “you two make coming home after a long day feel easy.”
“haji, you say that like almost everyday.” a laugh left your lips as you teased him.
“listen to him, darling. our big strong leader getting all soft.”
tasuku tilted your chin up with a finger so he could look at you properly, eyes sparkling. “but he’s right. you’re the center of this little circle, you know that? ume and me, we get to orbit around you.”
you felt your face heat, but neither of them let you hide. umemiya pressed a kiss to your hair. tsubakino followed it with one to your cheek, then the corner of your mouth.
for a long moment the three of you just stayed like that; tangled together on the rooftop bench, surrounded by the faint rustle of leaves and the distant sounds of people below. just hajime’s steady heartbeat under your ear, and tasuku’s soft humming carried by the breeze.
as you watched the sun slowly set, you realized it was probably time to head back home, but before you could say anything, umemiya’s voice was barely above a whisper when he spoke again.
“stay a little longer?”
tsubakino answered for all three of you, squeezing your hand.
“as if we’d ever let you go.”
and when you were enveloped between both of them all warm, who were you to refuse?
All of my Endo Yamato content are based from the first one shot I have for him. But, this can be read as a standalone one shot if you don't want to read the previous one I had. It's fine. You'll still understand what's happening in this because these are all random inconsecutive one shots I just wanted to write for Endo. (I'm also really thankful to those who are liking this series of oneshots! Thank you so much for appreciating my writing! Your messages and comments mean A LOT TO ME! 🤗)
A Bad Penny Always Turns Up | Endo Yamato
Characters: Endo Yamato x short!fem!reader
Summary: It has been 2-3 months already after agreeing to Endo's generous offers. Time could tell how his mere presence began affecting you A LOT. How the idea that Endo was receiving nothing in return have also been bothering you so much that you had to think of something to pamper him with. A home-cooked meal that you have somehow blurted out all of a sudden. | You were thoroughly in-denial about everything and probably did not want to come to terms with what your heart truly desires. It was a matter of tough argument between your mind and heart. Over a span of months, Endo was relentless upon overindulging to what you wanted and like for. The need to pamper you definitely escalated thrice than he ever does. Hence, an ignorant slip of starving him with the littlest bit of your attention had him feeling a weird, acrid taste on the mouth when you've accidentally seen a friend he was passive about. | Endo did not care whether you would demand menstrual napkins or girl stuff. He'll always get it for you because he will always give what you ask for. You want it? Well, Endo Yamato got it. | Endo created a deep meaning towards that Seafoam green dyed hair you got—-one you've had it dyed with the same color of his eyes—-seeing it as something worth precious for. A connection that only the both of you had in which he holds on deeply too just like the same tattoo he has with Takiishi.
A/N: This one shot is LOOONGGG. But, I hope it's worth it! I was certainly giggling all through out this one shot! I swearrrrr! I WAS GIGGLING OUT LOUDDDD. Imagine seeing Endo in the women's aisle—-OH MY GOODNESS. We all need an Endo. PLEASEEEE. The way he is in this one shot is CHEF'S KISS! He got me kicking my feet so hard!
Warnings: So much FLUFF and YEARNING. Touches. Endo catering to your EVERY WHIM. You somehow don't feel good and want a perfect, warm bath? he'll give you that. (GODDAMNNN) Just a short scene where we get pissy Endo. HEEHEE. Umemiya's name is mentioned again. But, not out loud. HAHA. Endo's infatuation/like/interest he has for Takiishi and Sakura will not be pushed aside in this fic/collection of one shots. Typical, blunt, blabber mouth, teasing, Endo. He's using his charms here just by existing and saying chummy stuff? (AaaaAAaaa!) Emotionally unaware Endo. Societal stereotypes mentioned over receiving stuff and giving nothing in return. Just one mention of the word 'Sex' and other harmless, sexual innuendos. Thrilled, giddy and flustered Endo, as per usual. HEEHEE. Endo really just shows how much of a giver he is in this! 🤭
Your nickname will be fun-size and tiny-san in this collection of one shots. I really don't like using Y/N in my stories. Hehe.
LIKES, COMMENTS AND REBLOGS MAKE ME SMILE! Don't be shy to leave a comment if you want. Hehehe. Send an ask if you want to fangirl with me!
Words: 17k+ (YES. THIS IS A LONG ONE SHOT. Better get something to munch on while you read!)

It was one simple text; a mere mention of his name with no context and he was already out to arrive for less than thirty minutes. Due to your apartment being close enough—-but not entirely to yours, his and Takiishi's.
That has always been the routine for the past few months with him. Endo always comes and goes. Though, on a rare occasion, there were times he never visits when he probably had shady stuff to do or when Takiishi had something—-or have wanted to do for the whole day and he always—-always accompanies him where ever he wanted too, just as much as he does with you.
You could notice—-see some nearly healed busted lip or one that was really difficult to see. You've never doubted it was Takiishi's doing because he had made it clear and was proud to say that the guy changed little by little every since that war Endo have instigated before for him. He was...getting there. Adjusting to tid-bits but he'd mention that Chika really never liked being touched.
The only harsh stuff he was receiving every now and then was weak slaps that he could take whenever his hand got too excited.
You left it at that though. Never really questioning the bond or relationship they have with each other, not that it was bothering you anyways nor that it even bothered him too. Who were you to criticize every toxic shit that runs between them when Endo—-himself tolerates it or even bears all those actions with a giddy smile to his face?
Despite Endo who'd always visit, the guy never stays at the apartment.
Or so you probably made it seem to be that you somehow wanted him to because you can sense that if you would ask, he would. Then he could probably come back to their apartment by morning and tend to Takiishi eventually.
Wouldn't you look entirely bad when the one who pays the rent or bought the apartment—-stays on the couch? which was also one of the reasons why you never had it in you to tell him to stay when it was his apartment anyway—-well, technically. Financially.
Besides, what was Endo supposed to do in your apartment other than follow you around or bother you whenever you're awake?
You've texted him—-despite receiving tons of questions from him via message—-scrolling to see how he was mostly yapping through it all, there was this shameful guilt eating you alive.
Why were you even being financed by him when he...receives nothing from you? what even was your purpose in this whole...situation that he created?
Who in the right mind would do that? Perhaps, only Endo Yamato.
What were you supposed to say? sorry? sorry for appearing like a gold-digger when he was the first to offer everything to you anyways?
What were you? a deity who had her disciple? a queen who had her...slave?
You were laying on the large, beige couch. In a fetus position, thoughts out of it. Mentally out of reality, too deep to even hear the pings that Endo have began typing in the door code to your apartment—-the sounds coming from it was not even enough for you to look up and see who it was.
"Hey, what do ya' want to eat today?!" he'd exclaimed from the entry hatch, loudly like he always is, never even fully inside. Just his gruff tones echoing inside the apartment, already blaring and eager to spend the day with you. The 52 inch television screen on, yet the watcher was curled up in a ball right in front of it.
He leisurely strolled closer. Sharp eyes scanning the whole place first—-left and right before instantly finding where you are since that pastel yellow furry sleepwear was definitely eye-catching and easy to see.
The ends of Endo's lips instantly shifted into a beam. Seafoam eyes spotting you across the living room, "Ya' in the mood for some Chinese?!"
You actually had your eyes closed, curled up in a ball. A hand covering your face as you did so, looking like something was wrong. But, no. You were just...thinking too deeply. Too distracted to even realize and hear what was happening around you.
Endo, his grating voice, his winsome face, those wild tattoos he had, his name was just haunting you every night—-the more you stayed in his apartment—-the more you spent time with him stirred more stifled feelings that were being gradually amplified.
What was even your purpose here?
You had friends, sure. But, those were only counted by one hand. Those people had their lives figured out already, they were constantly busy with their lives ahead and only pinged messages when they could remember—-or when they weren't tired enough.
So, most of the day—-you were constantly—-and always bombarded by Endo's existence.
It doesn't help that Endo appears like he was constantly thrilled and wanting to just bask in your presence too when all you can ever understand yourself was how—-bland you appeared to feel like in the presence of others.
Until that one night of crashing out—-that break of character; that violence which made you meet Endo, of course.
The slip of chaos which started everything.
His bright, seafoam eyes fell on your fetal form when he was already a few steps away from you. Those sharp, toothy grins falling at the observation.
You were not reacting at all. You typically did. Always did. Always would. Greeting him with a hot headed call of his name, sometimes sweet but most of the time sour. It was all a mixture of everything—-and the mishmash just makes it all the best.
He couldn't help but feel uneasy from your abrupt behavioral change. Endo felt a vague, unsettling confusion from your sudden shift in routine, but he just assumed it was leftover fatigue from the day since he's mostly—-emotionally unaware of stuff.
Yamato took a few, cautious strides and didn't hesitate to sit criss-cross in front of you, largely blocking the television with his built. He was dressed in a black jacket that he obviously did not wear fully—-just hanging loose over his arm that showed his detailed tattoos. Paired with awhite tank top, and black jeans. His sable, expensive loafers left on the front doors.
"Huh?"
Those sharp, seafoam eyes skimmed all over your form, staring longer over your obscured face. He tilted his head, worry etching his fetching features.
"Hey, Fun-size." he gruffly greeted, voice intentionally lowered this time. The tones making your breath hitch from how sultry and grating it sounded. "Where did that sour greetin' go off to? It's throwin' me off. Are you sick? or is someone bothering ya'?" Snake eyes had a lull on the ends of his tones, "Is that why you texted?"
You shouldn't have texted him when you were acting like this—-when this unfamiliar feeling was mentally attacking you all of a sudden. Your chest feels tight but somehow saccharine warm when he finally arrived.
There was something wrong with you. Especially when you couldn't even look at Endo in the eye like you could do so before.
Was this really...guilt or finally something else?
You've buried yourself even deeper into the couch—-Finally hitting you that he was there. You wanted the couch to eat you alive and just hide in there forever. It felt like this was such a wrong time. This visceral feeling was giving you the guise that you didn't want him around right now but actually want the opposite either—-just wanting to be overwhelmed by all of his presence and blaring noise.
It was weird.
"I dunno, Yamato. I just...don't knoooow. But—-no one's bothering me, oookay?" a low, soft mumble of your words sounding like a mushy whine. The context entirely unclear where you were coming from.
"What do you mean you don't know, huh?" he'd rasped and tried to tread on the conversation carefully like he knew what you wanted to hear from him, sounding surprisingly and subtly soft but still with that distinct gruff if you squint at it just right. "—-Nobody's messin' with ya', for real?——then what's the prob? come on, tell me. I'm all ears."
"It's—-it's nooothing, I dunno—-I think it's nothing."
Endo caught onto that. Heard that loud and clear—-even recognizing a tone you have never used on him. Oblivious to even catch onto the tiny specks of glimmer that surrounded his eyes when you spoke beneath your breath.
That giddy, breathless thrill flared up inside him—-only seeing this the first time since you've ever spent time with him.
"You think it's nothin'?" Endo puffed out, tilting his head as he leaned in closer, "Huh, yeah, right. That makes it more suspicious. Who are ya' tryin' to fool here?"
This guy just couldn't keep his hands to himself. Whenever he could see an opening, he was always eagerly leaning into every bit of touch you'd casually allowed him to since the early days you've spent time together.
It was actually making you go crazy.
You've eventually felt Endo's palm leniently skidding beneath the strands of hair that fell over your face, his tattooed hand—-feeling rough and calloused over your forehead.
He was already checking your temperature before you can even complain about it.
Not that you could, you were stunned that he didn't hesitate to do so.
"Hm? ya' not feelin' good?" his voice sounded more hoarse when he was a lot closer, it doesn't make it any better when he was intentionally trying hard to keep himself shushed despite of his normal, loud voice due to comprehending that you probably did not feel good today or whatever—-your insides were feeling a lot more warmer this time—-blisteringly sweet. Especially when you were entirely aware of how his skin felt on yours.
"Ahhh," Endo lowly made a thinking noise, pausing for a second before huskily adding, "Do you need a hot bath, then? want me to run it for ya'?"
A hot bath? he never once offered it to you—-well, he actually did, you remembered. You technically thought he was joking before on a random day until he was determined and about to wholeheartedly sprint towards the bathroom when you've ceased him otherwise before he even could.
That sounded nice.
You wondered how he does it—-knowing damn well he might be great at handling that because he probably does it for Takiishi either way.
You've felt warm, calculated, genial fingers touch your forehead again.
It took you a pause, your heart feeling like it was physically being grasped by himself—-blooming with such a familiar warmth that was enough for you stay awake until sunrise.
"A hot bath? really? you'll do that for me?" your words sounded muffled against your own hands that were covering your own face. Totally blind to any of Endo's expressions right now.
"Of course! You want it, Fun-size? I'll give ya' that." his voice dropped with a persuading, eager lull that made your heart skip a beat. "I don't actually make the rules here, remember?" His seafoam eyes were filled with such thrilled excitement to be hearing this all come from you because Endo had his fair shares of no's whenever he tries to cater towards your every need. Despite how you've eventually and slowly learned to lean into how obnoxiously attentive he can be—-you still somehow try to create a line between.
Somehow—-yet, the past few weeks felt like you were enjoying and basking in to that spoiling rights he always gripped onto.
"How do ya' want it?" the tips of his fingers lightly grazed over a strand of hair that fell along your temple. Endo's words dragging out of his throat in a surprisingly, coddling rough rumble that wildly tickled the butterflies inside your stomach. What the. "Warm? hot? or just perfect?" he took a helpless breather you had never noticed—-thoroughly distracted by your own stifled struggles. "I'll make it however ya' like. Whatever ya' need."
You could feel the ends of your lips tremble—-shaking to conceal that smile wanting to be ripped apart from beneath those palms of yours. "Warm..." you mumbled beneath the weight of your own hands. Though, you were sure Endo heard you loud and clear at that because those low, gruff tones of his had this deceptive, lazy drawls.
"Hm? say that again?" he let out a low, teasing hum. Those tones making it sound like he had that satisfied, thrilled grin on his face. "My bad, didn't hear ya'."
"Mmh. Wan' it warm, Yamatoooo."
You didn't intentionally meant to sound like that. If you could hear those tones being said by another woman who was talking to another man—-you would have made an obvious grimace. But, this new, profound sound that drips word per word from you states that it sounded like a voice of vulnerability, desiring to be pampered.
That needy, soft mumble you have unintentionally murmured felt like you were basking to be spoiled by Endo himself.
"Oh." As expected by Yamato, the man have reveled in those unexpected, needy tones you were subtly giving. He tolerated it; welcomed it with open arms. Even had the audacity to emit a bright, eager giggle that went 'Heehee!' in which you've heard.
Did he just...foolishly giggle out loud because of that?
"Ya' like it warm, huh?—-Okay, okay! Sure! I'll do that! Anything for you!" Endo still sounded genuinely thrilled as he continued to react towards your unexpected vulnerability like a prized trophy he had immediately grabbed onto. "I'll get it just right—-I'll make it all perfect for ya'!"
"Well, it's also about time—-!" you've heard him snicker which eventually turned into a low, teasing chuckle, "—-I've been waitin' for you to ask me to run a bath for you since then, ya' know?"
Damn. Your heart was racing abnormally than it ever could just because of that talk.
"But, are you sure you're really sick?" Endo implored again, a little bit skeptical because your temperature says otherwise. "—-isn't it just a stomach bug, muscle ache—-headache or some weird shit'?"
Your eyes nearly bulged out of your eye sockets when Endo even began to tamely run his fingers over your scalp as if he was trying to make you feel better and comfortable, brushing away the hairs on your forehead to the back—-just what the heck was he thinking?
"Just say the word and I'll take care of ya'." he'd let out a gruff, thrilled chuckle. Endo's hand letting your locks slip through his hand. A sudden electricity sparking at the base of your neck, a breathless shiver trapped itself in your throat when you even felt him twirl a strand around his fingers.
He'd even let out an excited breath.
"—-I can just stay the night, run you that perfect, warm bath you want and sort ya' out, Fun-size. Up to you." he'd let out a lazy, rumbling chuckle. "I've always got ya' covered."
When had this guy have gentle, reassuring hands?! Also, did he just say stay the night, run you that warm bath and sort ya' out—-take care of ya'?! What was he saying?!
It didn't help when you've pulled your hands away from your face to fully look at him, Endo had cheeks that were turning rosy—-with sharp, seafoam eyes enthusiastic to be regarding of this whole experience as if he was waiting for this day—-pleased to see this all for himself.
Was he...totally pleased over this whole situation?!
"Noooo!" you've turned your back on him. Obviously trying to avoid his...plans and lenient ministrations. Subtly steering clear of those merciful fingers you've happened to experience today. A huff of disbelief leaving your chest—-wanting to kick your feet from trying to bear these overwhelming feeling you were trying to keep calm. "Noooooo! What the helllllll!"
Every no's exclaimed felt like they were all for yourself.
You've used your elbow to support yourself from the couch, with your back still on him. Your face entirely scorching hot that an egg can be fried from it already. Your hands raked over your own scalp—-trying its hardest to forget how his fingers felt because it was certainly lingering on your skin more than it can ever be.
"I'm just hungry! Yeah, it's hunger! I know it is! It should beee!"
Endo gave a low, raspy chuckle. Amusement stirring in the air when you were finally back to your normal self.
"Geez. And here I thought things were finally getting exciting." he grinned, toothy fangs on show while he stood towering on his feet again, "Knew you wouldn't be actin' all sad, gloomy and needy for no reason! Back to normal now, right?"
You seemed to be like you were mentally trying to get a hold of yourself which he surely had no idea about. Endo turned around to see that card he lent you with—-one that has his name now—-probably one that was linked to his too—-since he'd repeatedly noted that you extremely disliked how he tried lending you one that has a woman's name on it—-not wanting to make the same mistake again, he'd created another one just for you.
"Did ya' skip a meal again today?" he'd casually asked, seeing how untouched that card of his was. Never even seeing you use it when you wanted something—-ever. Unless, he visits and treats you out himself. "You could've used the card, ya' know?"
Endo exhaled a lazy, playful huff. The unbothered, fond look in his eyes gave away completely, "I told ya' multiple times already, you're free to use the card whenever you want. Even if you want to go wild with it—-I don't really care about what ya' spend."
He always says that. Hence, that feeling inside your heart grew heavier whenever he does—-no matter how unfazed he always sounded.
You've finally sat on the couch, criss-cross. Grabbing onto a throw pillow and trying to ignore how he stood towering beside your couch—-doing your best to ignore how he was dressed casually but comely enough to stare at all day. That summer fit he was wearing—-was definitely eye-catching.
"I don't want to use it. That's yours." with your mouth over that pillow, it sounded more of a quiet mumble. But, Endo was sharp enough to understand.
"Yeah, you never used it once." he stated as a matter of fact, glancing to see your mouth practically being hidden by the throw pillow already. What was with you today? not that he minded. But, you were...acting a little bit different than how he remembered and memorized.
Or perhaps, he was just reading you wrong today—-since he's pretty much a bad judge of a character anyways.
Endo raked a hand up his wavy hair, his luscious locks slipping through the spaces of his fingers. Gruffly grumbling forth, "Just the same as Takiishi. Sheesh."
What can you do for him? just...to repay whatever he was basking you in? you couldn't help but grab onto that new smartphone you had that rested on the coffee table. To which, Endo drifted his eyes onto, seeming to have a comment for it, "But, you finally accepted the terms on using that phone though. That's good!"
Yamato stepped forward, grabbing onto the black card that rested on the table. Flicking his wrist, both of his forefinger and middle one angled for you to take or to probably support the words that sluggishly came out of his mouth. Another offer leaving his mouth that sounded like a solution to your self-induced predicaments.
From your peripheral vision, you could see him holding out the card to your face as you were typing stuff on your phone, "Do ya' wanna have this with your name, then?" he'd gruffly asked, never sounding like it was a bother. "I'll do that for ya'."
Even that?
From the mention of it, you were quick to drop your phone on your lap. Immediately snatching the black card out of his hand, not wanting to bother him in such problems that you obviously created. It was your choice not to spend a penny using that card he provided yet he was going all the way out again just for you to comfortably use it to your heart's content.
What is he even thinking?
"Nooo, I—-I'll just try and use this instead. I don't want you doing that," you've contemplated, but eventually kept it in the pocket of your sleepwear.
Endo watched you keep the card and shrug his tattooed, broad shoulders, raising a brow at your decision. Noticing that you didn't like him deciding for you all the time—-he respected that. Snake eyes knew when or when not to probe further—-which had you dubious because his appearance showed signs that he was the opposite.Perhaps, he noticed that you didn't like that. A whole lot.
"Okay, sure! Whatever ya' say."
He'd leisurely dragged his feet to the kitchen, your eyes finally glancing at him when he wasn't looking. Broad back on show.
Your mouth seemed to have a mind of its own today. Probably, a cloud of suppressed voices wanting to come out since the time he arrived, "You've...been spending lots already because we always eat out, Yamato."
Endo opened the refrigerator—-knowing him by now, he was grabbing onto some ice cream in the freezer which you always noticed he really liked. Any ice cream that he can munch on.
"Oh? what's this? are we playing Never-have-I-ever now?" he'd sarcastically muttered, voice muffled from a distance. Once he gotten a hold of that chocolate Magnum ice cream, he'd unwrapped it and turned to face you. A knowing grin and glint in his eyes while he leisurely waved the sweet treat in the air.
"Come on, you like all the good stuff I get ya'. I don't see any problem with that!" he exclaimed a little too eagerly. The white tips of his fangs peeking out of his upper lip a little, "Relax! I'm here to keep ya' well-fed, Fun-size." Endo took a quick bite of his ice cream, "No matter what it is—-what you want me to do or whatever. As long as you want it, I'm here to give ya' that."
Thus, he'd smile. One that reached his eyes, sincerely adding another statement that you could never get used to hearing from another person—-because no sane person would freely state out loud over how he would do anything for you especially if this particular person receives nothing in return—-with no strings attached—-always looking completely unfazed without getting anything back.
"Thought you already know by now that I'll always go above and beyond for ya' too."
God, Endo probably planned to make you go insane eventually. You couldn't help but cover your face at that—-trying to keep your face from feeling all the heat. This dude always had something to say when you keep forgetting yours!
"Do—-Do you want me to cook for you?" you've blurted out. Loud and clear. Perhaps, with a stutter too before your mind could even comprehend the thought of it.
Shit. Cook for him? really? that was the best you can think of?
Endo's beams faltered, that smile quickly falling from the sudden decision he heard. Even with the ice cream in his mouth, looking like he was dumbstruck from the surprising question.
"Hwuh?" he'd momentarily blinked those widened, sharp eyes. Feet static on his side of the kitchen as he saw you avoid eye-contact. You kept on pointing at the fridge behind him. "The fridge is filled with ice cream and ton of junks. You know, Takiishi's the only one who likes that shit ton of junk foods—-as far as I recall you yapping to me about it."
You've pursed your lips, heavily avoiding those curious, seafoam eyes. "I never get to make meals in this home. What makes you think I can cook anything with those stuff?"
Somebody whom he cared for would simply cook for him? wholeheartedly?
He couldn't help but feel as if the idea was skeptical at first. Hence, his reaction says that he couldn't believe it at all because he was certainly not used to...this.
"You actually cook?!" he loudly exclaimed, rambunctious and surprised all together. Endo couldn't think of anything else on what sparked or motivated you to do this. Perhaps, was it your birthday? No, no. He knows when your birthday is and it wasn't even close enough. "Wait, seriously?! are you saying you're treating me with a home-cooked meal of yours?!" there was a look of incredulity drawn on his features.
Endo was quick to scramble on his feet—-to traipse towards you, thoroughly eager to hear what you have for him. He squatted before you, blocking the television screen for the second time. Greeting you with another beam that reached his eyes.
"Why? what for?!" His seafoam eyes were bright and wide, elbows on his knees as he fully squatted. Words spitting out in an eager, wondering rush. "Are we celebrating something or ya' just feel like making me the happiest guy around?!"
Making him the happiest guy around? simply just by that alone?
You had doubts that he wouldn't probably like the idea either because he rarely sees you—-no, he never did see you cook or spend time in the kitchen.
Your nose scrunched when you could fully see him now. His fine face just bombarding you the view that this unfamiliar feeling was desiring for. "No! No, we're not celebrating anything!" his expression never even changed as he continued to listen. "I just wanted—-I want to—-"
You've weakly bit your tongue, these stifled words difficult to even say it out loud when he was looking like...he wasn't a founder of a gang nor do shady stuff even.
Damn it. Endo looked infuriatingly charming in this angle he's in.
"I-I know, I'm not the best cook—-" you've cleared your throat and started again, pertaining that your cooking skills might be rusty now since the past months with him—-you were never holding pots or spatulas anymore because Endo was always present to buy stuff—-do stuff for you. "—-but, I...just wanna—-I wanna see if I still got it."
His beams seemed to falter for a little as he searched for any signs that you weren't serious about this. Those cunning, sharp eyes seeking for any stunts you had—-or any lies that hid behind it; or a farce you wanted to troll him with.
Was he trying to read you? or was he skeptical of your decisions? either way, those eyes like sharpened flint, piercing to see the reason of this sudden absurdity you had only established for him for the first time ever—-which he was entirely unfamiliar with.
"What?! why are you looking at me like that?! are you judging me right now?!" you've suddenly grown cautious of that gaze, squinting your eyes back at him with a quick, loud, thumping heart. "I just wanna—-! I wanna cook for you, okay?! Look—-I just really want to makedinner for you tonight!"
There. You've said it. Told him the reason why you were suddenly...serving for him when you never did at all. "If you don't want dinner made by me, then be your usual blunt self and tell me damn truth!" you've suddenly backtracked, thinking this was a bad idea after all since you needed to go out to buy groceries and stuff because there was simply nothing to cook in the apartment.
This was going to be the first time you'll experience grocery shopping with this guy. Hence, just thinking about it—-was keeping you on your toes.
Maybe, it was a bad idea after all. "Forget it! Forget it then! Let's just eat out instead!"
Endo sluggishly held his arm up in surrender, sharp eyes darting back as he gruffly defended, "Oi—-oi! What do you mean forget it?! I wasn't even saying anything yet!" he bellyached, playfully pointing back at you with his thumb and forefinger. Gaze narrowed in a fetching way that got your teeth gritted together for saying anything further, "Geez! Just listen to me for a sec!"
Endo Yamato took a second after that loud exclamation. You knew he was rowdy as hell and he definitely was making it known. His mouth pulled into a slow, lazy grin.
"Gotta' say—-I didn't see that comin' for sure."
There was this familiar, vibrant glaze to Endo's eyes when you've heard him emit a low, raspy chuckle beneath his chest. This was a resonance tugging of recognition—-one he had already felt before. Though, there held an unadulterated difference. This sheer thrill of having all distinct feelings thrown to him all at once—-the echoes of that fight he had with Sakura hitting him with a wave of nostalgia.
Those catering deeds he had always been showering you in, Endo never knew that bending over backwards for him in return felt so good especially when that face of yours held determination and eagerness that was intended for him alone.
"But—-Man," it sounded more like a breathless huff. His lopsided smile growing larger, his gaze heavier. Never even looking away as he hoarsely murmured, "That's frickin' dangerous. Ya' just know how to get a guy excited."
Endo sighed and languidly blinked before nodding. His gaze still holding such burning, palpable weight while he stared right back. "Okay! As you wish." Snake eyes made an a-okay sign before he stood up towering, "You're holding my stomach hostage tonight! We're having whatever the hell ya' want!"
His tattooed hand darted to pick up your wrist, tugging you to leave the couch and opted for you to change, bringing you to your room that had its own, mid-size walk in closet. A soft smile evident as he added, "Because anything you say goes. As always."
💬━━━━━━━━━━━━💬
Upon arriving at the supermarket—-which was a little bit farther than you've imagined it to be. Endo grabbed onto the white helmet you were reaching out to him as he undid his too.
You were glancing at him as he put aside both of your gears. Your eyes darting to pay attention towards his tattoos that always catches your eye—-furtively appreciating how detailed they were that it truly even reached his shoulder blades and chest—-one that had the word frank—-to which he had already talked about how deeply he cherished the tattoo because Takiishi wore the same mark. Then those inked flames that slid towards his chest. He seemed like he wanted to flaunt those tattoos he had today because of that tank top he wore and a jacket that only dangled over his arms like it was just part of his fashion.
"You're making me anxious," his presence was. The more you spent time with Endo—-the more you could feel your insides churning in a good way. "I'll just use the card and buy everything myself."
"Oh? what's the problem?" Endo turned around to face you, his height towering over your shorter ones nevertheless. It didn't help that his loafers had a little bit of heel too which made him taller than he can ever be. "We're playin' dirty now? you're suddenly deciding you'll be using the card?"
You've gestured with your hands, trying to shoo him off. "You should go back home, Yamato. Wait for me at the apartment—-!" Pause. "—-Or at least, check your phone! Takiishi might be texting you for stuff or something that you need to tend—-?!"
"Yeah, right. Zero chance at that." Endo drawled his first two words in a lazy, rough-around-the-edges manner. He let out a low, gravelly huff that laid a little on the condescending tones. "Are you messin' with me? Ya' know that guy never uses his goddamn phone."
The more days spent with Yamato felt like he was constantly unshakeable. It probably was a package deal—-a stubborn one, indeed—-that came with this help he aided. Though, this time, this present necessity doubled over when you've both finally have bonded together.
There was no doubt that Endo was probably overwhelming too—-perhaps, unbearably more—-towards Takiishi in terms of catering to his every whim.
You let out a dry huff, knowing it was no use despite using the Takiishi card towards him today. "I'll do the groceries alone."
Endo was quick to exclaim, "Like frickin' hell you are!"
Well, you expected that damned answer from him.
He'd raise a brow, eyes playfully piercing through you—-as if his normal gazes weren't enough to be felt by the naked eye. "Who's carrying the bags for ya' when you do it alone?!"
You've given him a huff, reciprocating a raise of your brow either. What does he think of you? that you can't carry grocery bags by yourself? you've always been doing it before he even gatecrashed in your life. What makes it different now?
"I'll do it! I can do it myself! As if I can't?!"
He gave a small nod to himself. His broad, brawny shoulders dropping into that breezy, masculine stance he always had, slipping one hand inside the pocket of his jeans while the other was playing with the motorcycle key that dangled around his tattooed forefinger. Eyes in subtle mischief, tone conniving. "Okay! Who's driving you back home then?"
Bingo. He got you there.
"I-I dunno—-?! M-me?!"
The grin began to reach Endo's face. Sarcasm treading along his words, "You're drivin'?! Ya' really sure about that? Here. Catch!" out of the blue, he threw the keys. You have successfully caught it—-almost dropping it on the pavements if you hadn't been looking at him when you were talking.
"I'll walk home. Take the motorcycle and give it a go,"
You've given him a glower. This guy...he knew you never knew how to use a motorcycle anyways.
As if there was no other solution than driving that motorcycle of his, right? he underestimates that you can practically just call a taxi or have someone help you—-that is, if you have any more friends—-not that you really do.
You've given him his motorcycle key back, your glares minimal as you've mindlessly ran your mouth, "I'll just call a cab—-! or call a full-headed white haired man who loves planting tomatoes or something!"
It was sincerely just an accidental blubber, especially when you'd added the word plants—-well, the white haired was intentional—-knowing Endo who always revolted to the topic of that. But, his disgusted look was ten-times worse than the time you mentioned it before.
"You gotta' be kidding there, fun-size. Ya' have a thing for gross, full-headed white-haired men who loves planting?" his seafoam eyes held a steely glint, mouth in a tight scowl and bitter words dripping on the tips of his tongue.
As much as you could assess Endo's personality—-this guy doesn't seem to be easily bothered with stuff like this—-or perhaps, you haven't just got enough talk about men in general. But, no. You were certain he doesn't give a flying fuck unless it was really a person he was bothered with or another person who really was driven to torment you, then you can say he has his own wild flare ups. Something tells you that Endo can be possessive when being intentionally provoked.
"Seriously, don't ruin my mood today."
Yikes. He sounded pissy than ever before. Was it because you have been a little specific about it? what was wrong?
"Hey, it was a joke, Yamato—-! I was just kidding, okay?!" you were quick to take back, yet those sharp side-eyes you were receiving seemed like Endo was still strongly holding onto that wisecrack you've spouted helter-skelter to this talk you were having.
"Really? sure, let's go with that." he deadpanned, his fangs slipping out of that scowl he had, "Have ya' stumbled on Makochi perhaps? tell me."
Makochi. Why was he mentioning that town right now? what was the connection to everything on the topic at hand?
"Thought you told me ya' were out doing things two days ago, Came back pretty damn late too." he took a hesitant pause that you can hardly notice. "—-not that I mind though, really. Were you out playin' your violent, whack-a-moles without me?"
Oh, he remembered that night when he visited the apartment and you suddenly weren't there. That was the first time you have ever done that—-or had the willpower to drag yourself out of bed to touch grass without him.
You've received a long ass message from Endo during that time—-one message that became a random yap fest eventually—-since that was the initial time you weren't present to welcome him at the apartment. Knowing all your habits by now—-he knew you weren't really that kind of an outgoing woman. The total polar opposite of those Gyarus he once liked.
You always preferred to be in the comfort of your own home rather than spending the day outside—-unless he was there to take you out of your own boredom and misery.
Seriously, you didn't go home late that day because you have been involving yourself in violence. You just wanted to step out by yourself , touch some grass, smell fresh air and...think about stuff without him constantly being around you. Just thinking about emotional and personal matters that has been concerning you through day and night.
Questioning that restless, giddy, warmth that you have been feeling since Endo has been willingly and constantly around you.
"Hey, I wasn't out trying to—-to whack any dude's head or find violence, okay?! I'm not like you!" you immediately retorted back, squinting your eyes back at him—-receiving a small smile from the latter which got you sighing out the breath you were actually holding on, "You think I'm crazy enough to go out and make a bloody scene out of nowhere again?!"
"You said it yourself, Fun-size—-note the 'again', it's important." Endo stated as a matter of fact and cracked a smile, grinning from ear to ear when he could remember that night of violence which started everything. "We can ask baldy about that little bloody masterpiece you did months ago with that bottle of Hennessy."
Now, this was your turn to scowl.
"I don't even know where Makochi is," you've changed the subject so quick that you haven't even seen how Endo's grins turned upside down in just a second and mention of the place, "Now, you've just made me more curious about the whole town."
His features held a subtle grimace, hands flicking to add a gesture towards his words, "Ah, just forget it."
Shouldn't he be at least, a little bit enthusiastic about the topic since that was where you remembered Sakura is? the Sakura Haruka that he's also fond with? "Wait—-but, isn't that where Sakura lives? will you take me there someday?!"
Endo doesn't even know what to feel at that. He was elated to hear Sakura's name out of your mouth which ignited a quick, growing grin to his lips until you added the second question that got him less eager of the whole topic, "Sure," he lowly rasped, his tones neighboring between interest and sarcasm.
"When hell freezes over, I guess."
So, that was a no. Wait—-were you forgetting about something?
Endo continued his talk as you both started to walk towards the supermarket, away from the open parking lot. A smug, elated smile complimenting the apple of his tinted cheeks. "Or if Sakura tells me to. He's the only one who could take me back to that damn town and school." he shrugged off his burly shoulders, sluggishly disclosing the sole chance he would even take you there himself. "Other than that, I have no reason to step in their territory again—-I promised Sakura not to touch Furin anymore." pause. "Don't you remember what I told ya'?"
Oh, shit. You forgot about that—-about all that war he instigated for Takiishi.
Sometimes your mouth can run off in the wrong times. You couldn't help but scratch the side of your neck—-shamefully telling yourself to keep your mouth shut during times like this. It's also a bit of your fault since you were really comfortable being with Endo now.
"Sorry." you've blurted all of a sudden.
Which he has quickly glanced as you strutted side by side against each other. A smirk fitting that curious glint clouding his gaze, "Oh? ya' bein' sorry for what?"
"...for forgetting about that." you trailed off.
Endo gave a small, toothy smile. Engrossed to where you were going with this conversation, "Huh? You're acting really different today. What's wrong? Did somebody hit ya' in the head or somethin'? Tell me right now. I'm hunting them down for ya'!" he'd subtly implored—-and probably was serious about it too—-as he tried to get something out of you especially when he was used to only hearing your apologies during times when you're really bothered about something.
"—-Oh, or is it just because you're hiding somethin' from me, Fun-size?" Endo's voice dropped into a low, smooth purr. Tone light and airy. "Come on now, what is it?"
Did he really have to say it like that? you couldn't help but notice you were absolutely and frequently feeling the warmth creep up your nape and cheeks whenever he was talking this way.
But, was Endo being suspicious of you? or was he still pertaining towards that white haired guy you were talking about?
"I'm—-I'm not hiding anything from you! I told you it was a goddamn joke! I seriously have no white-haired friends who loves planting!" you couldn't help but sincerely exclaim, holding out no secrets for him while you've felt the cold breeze of the supermarket welcome you both as you entered. "Let's just get this done already!" you've bypassed Endo and marched towards the nested row of metal, push carts that were cast aside.
"Oi! Wait up, Fun-size! We have all the damn time in the world, ya' know?!" He'd gruffly hollered without having an ounce of idea to that scrunching face that Endo had from the sheer mention of bringing back the topic. He heavily dragged his feet to where you were, following you around with a loud, intentional sigh.
"Geez. The topic always leads back to that idiot." he lowly murmured more to himself, lazily scratching the back of his messy head. Another husky grumble grated at the back of his throat from the realization that the topic have been subtly imploring towards Umemiya again—-in thorough skepticism as to why the subject kept going back and forth about a person he loathed deeply.
"I'm so sick of it—-that dumbass is like a leech that I even have to talk about him with ya' too. What are the damn odds?"
💬━━━━━━━━━━━━💬
"I feel like you're not gonna like it."
Phone in hand, you were lazily pushing the cart. Eyes on your gadget while Endo walked the same pace beside you. His own gazes scanning the aisle for anything he wanted to add in the cart as well.
"Mmh? what the hell're ya' talkin' about?" he'd given you a skeptical glance. Sharp eyes growing a little bit from your sudden reluctance—-but, most definitely towards the idea that his opinion was important in this. Didn't you want to cook for him just because you wanted to and you were hungry? not because you hoped to give an impression?
"I'll eat anything you make for me! Whatever it is you're planning, I'm good!" he beamed, one that reached his eyes, reassuring you of your doubts. "—-Even if turns diabolical and tastes like shit!"
You cannot help but give him a sidelong glance, "Shuddup. You're just being entirely biased." pause. "Now, I can't remember the recipe!"
He'd given one toothy grin, shrugging his broad, tatted shoulders. "Well, yeah! It is what it is!" Endo seemed like he was responding towards your first sentence over how he was being pretty biased over his own opinions.
"Pretty sure it's hard not to be when I'm really into ya'!"
Damn him and his straight to the point responses. You've felt your heart race at how casual Endo admitted that out loud like this was just like any other usual day for him. You can't say it was unusual because this was indeed—-normal for the guy.
Thoroughly oblivious and emotionally unaware of what's happening around him, Endo commented another like those honest confessions he was stating out loud didn't bother him much. Yet, to you—-that stomach of yours plummeted down as much as how the heat rose up to your face.
Endo's sharp eyes were in crescents. His offhand confessions piling up without even batting an eye over his intrusive declarations. "Heh! Heh! Ya' already know I like ya' a little too much!"
"Yamato—-," you felt like choking from the intense heat rushing towards the nape of your neck. "—-for fuck's sake—-," and what makes it more difficult was the brief cracks of your voice as if you were entirely being flustered by this spontaneous and blunt admission he felt like stating out without warning.
"You keep spitting that out like—-like—-!"
Endo still had that fond, vacant grin. "Like what?" he bluntly stated with that gruff tones he had, "You're actin' like I didn't say I'm interested in ya' 2-3 months ago!"
He even let out a giggle all of a sudden, completely helpless of the rush he was constantly in. "'Cause pretty sure I remembered I did mention that I really fell for ya', right?"
You could hear the whirr of at least three sets of push-cart that were meters away. One even had to pass by the both of you from behind. Endo was still staring right back with a blissful, ignorant smile. Thoroughly unbothered by the people who were around as this chummy conversation went on.
A wave of flustered panic and wariness got you turning your head from left to right, tracking the movements of grocery shoppers who probably had ears to eavesdrop towards what the conversation was all about. Endo was no silent talker. His voice can be as loud as he can be. You knew these people weren't acting deaf because one shopper gave Endo a curious glance when she passed by. Though, you might not be sure about that look—-because she just appeared to be subtly checking him out somehow and had no idea what you were both talking about.
"Really?" you've inhaled a breath, still in disbelief over how Endo never looked bothered of the whole topic when it actually meant everything to you. In a way that it actually bothered you—-your thoughts racing once again just like every other night since the last month started. "Right in the middle of a damn supermarket—-?" a shaky, flustered huff left your mouth, "—-With tons of people around?!"
"Oh?" he'd gruffly stated out loud, blinking back with that charming grin he has, "What? what's wrong with that?"
Everything! Everything was wrong with it because your chest was fluttering so bad from how persistent and blunt he was being.
Your heart was racing miles after miles from his constant, unceremonious behavior that you have never experienced from others. God damn, only Endo Yamato would act so nonchalant by stating those words like it was simply idle talk or a walk in the park.
You immediately turned your back on him. The prickling warmth torturing your cheeks from being under the weight of Endo's scathing gazes. A vacant, oblivious smile with a gaze ensnaring you to probably just take the bait so he could capture and take a venomous—-consuming bite.
"I'll—-I'll go to the tea aisle! Don't follow me!"
The words hit him. Endo blinked another, all wide-eyed. "Oooi!" he gruffly called out, scrambling on his own two feet. Eagerly following suit, "Wait up, Fun-size! I'm going with ya' too'!"
Oh, you would pay to take a video of Endo who cared less that he was willingly trailing behind. His loafers doing the click-clacks with every thrilled steps he took. Though, the sly words that came after was enough to keep your feet into a halt.
"You can't even reach the top shelf on your own anyway! You know I do it for ya'!"
You stopped in your tracks, halfway looking back at Endo and seeing that wild, teasing grin on his charming face. "Excuse me?" one huff of breath went past your lips, throwing him a mock-offended glare over your shoulder. "Are you calling me short, Yamato?"
"You heard me loud and clear, ya' shortie." Endo met your distance, tossing back a playful, mocking comment. A flurry of warm rush flooding his cheeks. That narrowed gaze you've given him totally gave away the weird excitement he was in. Totally overwhelmed and liking every second of attention you were giving him—-caring less if it was even positively or negatively.
You thought he opted to trade more banters with you when he had leaned down more from behind. Those seafoam eyes meeting yours in a glimmering, flustered thrill. "But, I gotta' say—-pocket-sized version and all—-" he started, words in a lazy, gruff drawl. "Even if I have to look all the way down just to see that sweet, pretty face of yours—-I still like ya' that much."
Fuck. He had that stretched out, throaty tones. Endo gruffly purred that shit out like he wasn't making your mind go blank.
"Yamato—-," the tips of your fingers felt so sensitive and warm. It didn't help that burning, consuming stares he was giving. His handsome face up close, shamelessly watching every detail of your face, showing you that he was never bothered drinking all those gaze you were basking him in.
Endo always had that gaze in his seafoam eyes. One that tells you he was a man completely begging to be at your mercy—-but also clouded with such wild, devilish devotion. Experiencing it before kept you uneasy somehow but today—-? you were already too accustomed of the fact that he does it with no shame. The worst part is that your heart was also subtly craving—-starving for this special type of attention that only Endo Yamato could give.
Damn. Was he unconsciously changing all your sentience for the better? or for the worst?
"Sheesh, look at ya'. If that isn't just the cutest thing ever." He had breathlessly muttered, gaze lingering longer upon your lips—-your heart stopping for a second when he had leaned forward for a little more. The proximity choking you up.
Deep down, this man knew he was looking at you like a pathetic fool but it wasn't enough to keep him from doing the opposite. This was Endo. He never has been bothered over stuff that puts other people in shame. Endo never gave a fuck over other people's opinions anyway.
"It's definitely not a bad view from up here, I can say that." he bluntly stated, consciously letting out another helpless titter. Shameless to drink in every drop of your gaze.
God damn it. Endo's charisma was just oozing everywhere that you knew damn well it bit you hard.
You couldn't tear your eyes away from him. He was drowning you again, burning you from skin to bones. Endo probably was unaware of it—-from everything—-oblivious that his ways of showing his own adorations were far more different—- far more peculiar than how a normal person does.
Hence, it was enough to keep you insane; enough to feel so exposed to his exorbitant unconditional yearnings.
"Yamato—-you're—-," driving me insane.
As if saved by the bell.
"Oh." Your phone pinged out loud. Your heart rate finally slowing down after holding your breath so hard by Endo's previous gestures. You've pulled your eyes away from him, still feeling him heavily gazing, watching every detail of your face with no shame and that giddy smile he wore. His body heat warm. Inviting. Never bothered by this close proximity. A notification popping and sliding along the upper screen that Endo couldn't help but give a glimpse to, finally catching his attention. His height wasn't helping that he could see it from up there.
It was just a software update notification.
Hence, he couldn't help that teasing mouth to ridicule about predicting it to be a friend he probably haven't heard of yet. "You really don't have a lot of people. Do ya', Fun-size?"
You definitely felt that attack was personal and it hit right in the kokoro.
Or you were just overreacting to it because you know damn well that he was right. "I-I do!? I have five—-no, four!" you've even tried to count your friends with your own fingers, ceasing to push the cart as you defended yourself, "I also do have a close work mate back at the bar named Lizzy! That one waitress who has rose pink colored hair?!"
He might—-or could have remembered her back at the bar right? since she was—-or have been serving their table tons of times already. "Do you remember her?!"
"Hm?" Endo let out a low, flat hum and seemed like he had nothing to say—-which was really surprising. He'd languidly swaggered towards the tea aisle that was just really a few steps away, his imposing frame still evident.
Your eyes instinctively followed the easy, cool rhythm of his loosened swaggers. You've pressed further, adding a follow-up question, "You know—-? The person who regularly attends to your table before?"
The heel of his sable loafers clacking in echoes filled the silence as you were waiting for a single reaction or response from Endo.
"Oh, her?" He grabbed onto a good quality tea box and a bottled tea when he finally—-and shortly responded indifferently to which you were really giving him an eyeful at that because you rarely hear or see him sounding this...passive.
These reactions he was showing clearly contradicts to the energy he was giving. Endo's eyes crinkled with a genuine, fond smile that surely reached you when he strolled back, dropping the items in the cart—-mumbling a raspy, low and lackadaisical, "Ahh, yup. Her."
The hell with his ahh, yup, her? what was his problem? Endo sounded really disinterested about her at all.
He clearly remembered her, but judging by that completely flat response, Endo didn't give two flying fucks about that friend slash ex-coworker of yours back then.
💬━━━━━━━━━━━━💬
"Fun-size,"
Endo bluntly called you out, constantly stealing glances at you in thorough curiosity. "Ya' cold?"
You were shivering. It doesn't help that the cool air-conditioning of the supermarket was a hundred times higher due to the summer heat that was stressing people outside.
It was not the best idea to wear a simple, oversized, thin pastel blue shirt and thigh length shorts that had all the air take a free pass of breeze over the holes of your fabric.
It was probably the way your palms turned whiter—-or how you've curled your fists from time to time as you grab onto wet goods from the freezer; or how your frigid fingers touched Endos' when you asked him to reach the box of coconut juice that was entirely a foot above you.
Snake eyes surprisingly paid attention to that and was really considerate to bluntly state it out loud, remembering how he'd initially thought to grab a jacket for you before planning to leave the apartment.
"Geez. I really should have brought your jacket back at the apartment," he mentioned beneath his breath, seeming like he was grumbling more to himself in which you've clearly heard.
You can't help but bitch about it, whining a little as you kept your hands in a tight fist. Pushing the cart by your wrists, thinking he was actually reprimanding you and not himself, "I forgooooot, okay? Don't start blaming me now."
"Relax. I wouldn't even dare blame ya' for anythin'." That response from him got your cheeks heated a little. Endo raked a hand over his hair, brushing through it as he scratched the back of his messy head with a raspy, casual grumble. Brows knitted tight. "That was all on me, Fun-size. My bad." Endo insisted, receiving a questionable glance from you. Surprisingly taking the blame as if he was obliged to do it.
"I'll never hesitate to grab it next time."
He paused from walking along side, ceasing to hear the heels of his footsteps clacking against the floors. The second he wasn't languidly walking beside, got you turning around. Seeing Endo removing the sable jacket that fell loosely around his burly arms in a deliberate manner—-revealing the tatted, broad set of his shoulders.
Yamato walked closer, ceasing behind you as he loomed over. Thumbs hooked under the collar of his own jacket. His warmth definitely radiating off and making you completely aware that he was in spitting distance. He was even extending out the jacket to you like he wasn't thinking twice on helping you slip it on like you couldn't do it by yourself.
"Get over ere' and put your arms out." he'd gruffly dictated, waiting for you to move but you never budged. Even had to be skeptical of what he wanted to do that you needed to question him. Though, you understood what he wanted in the first place. It was all just word-plays.
"What'chu gonna do?" you've had a teasing tone to it that he quickly caught on, "—-twist my arm and break it?!"
Endo gave a snicker. His mouth forming a grin. An amused glint in his sharp eyes playing along, "Don't give me wild ideas." he taunted with a chuckle, "You know ya' just gotta' ask me and I'll gladly do it for you if that's gonna make ya' happy!"
You've stepped a foot away from him from that exclamation. In which he had reciprocated by taking a step closer, knowing you wouldn't take him—-dressing you up like this, seriously.
"Come on, let me warm ya' up." your heart skipped a beat at that—-thinking of a different kind that he would provide you with. In which, got you mentally whacking your head when you've heard his next words.
"—-Take my jacket. I can see you freezing. I'm not having that."
He...just knew what to say, huh?
You've felt the soft, gentle fabric fall on your body. He stacked his large, sable jacket around you. His tattooed hands on your shoulders as he clasped, grip tight but soothing. His gruff tones enticing to just take it. "Just wrap it on already. It's not like it's gonna bite ya'."
Your eyes skimmed over his brawny, tattooed chest. The tattooed flames that crawled like vines on his skin till that beautiful infinity symbol on his throat. His sharp eyes already gazing down—-making you feel the heat pool around your ankle as if you weren't cold prior to this time around.
"But—-!" you've started off, complaining that you took his clothing when he was only left with that white tank top, dark jeans and loafers he had. With that masculine build that could certainly catch the eyes of people who liked their guys built like this. God, he was even more otherworldly and thoroughly eye-catching.
"You're just in your tank top and—-!"
"And? are ya' worried I'll be freezing my ass off? if you are, just tell! Ya' know, I'm really going to like that!" You were. But, you never said it out loud. That tiny voice inside your head kept your mouth shut—-surprising you to even have those thoughts for him.
Endo seemed like he was jesting and quickly cut your train of thoughts, flicking his wrist as if to say it's nothing. "Don't sweat it. I'm already used to the frickin' cold." you doubt he was but he might be—-perhaps, his body heat normally adjusts to the cold as if it's a fireplace. How would his body feel if he was a little more closer than how he was a while ago? how would he feel if he wrapped those burly arms around you even?
"—-Stop stressin' your pretty head over the jacket. I'm good. I'd rather you have it."
Damn. You couldn't help but keep your mouth together. That jacket he lent you? smelled absolutely divine. It smelled like him—-the usual high end perfume he always uses and realizing that fact has made the heat go up your face—-forgetting the cold temperature of the supermarket already.
Though, Endo seemed like he was waiting for you to wear it. He never moved from his position in front of you and was just...eagerly staring. A beam instantly painting his lips. His seafoam eyes glazed over with that familiar sparkle that you have always been noticing when the most normal, chummy stuff happens between the both of you.
It also gets you feeling giddy somehow.
"Okay, then." you've nodded, avoiding his eyes and slipping your arms over the sleeves of his oversized jacket. The warmth reaching your cheeks—-burning you more in the process. The side of your lip twitching from wanting to smile too hard—-yet your mind says to stop before it happens, which probably ends up with you—-looking constipated.
"Thank you, Yamato. I appreciate it."
You've immediately turned around, pushing the cart forward before giving Endo a sidelong glance to see him never taking his eyes off you, grinning from ear to ear. His sharp, seafoam eyes glossed over with a tender shine—-cheeks even tinted to the point that you were guessing that he was weirdly flustered and pleased.
Was he...really blushing over that?
💬━━━━━━━━━━━━💬
"Yamato?"
Out of the blue, you've stopped yourself from walking further. Pulling your head back, the tops of your head even hitting Endo's tough chest which made your heart skip a beat. Thinking he was cautious enough to stop before he could even come in close contact.
Endo's messy, navy blue hair cascaded his face as he blinked back, eyes casted downwards. This immersed angle from below emphasizing more of his winsome face that got your heart running miles per second. Oh, God. What were you even thinking of doing that in the first place?
Those seafoam green eyes were trapping you in a trance that even made you forget what stunt you wanted to pull today.
The worst part? Endo never once retracted nor looked away from you either which got you both gazing into each other eyes like this instance wasn't making you go crazy.
Goddamn.
"Oh? what is it?" he'd roughly murmured, low enough for you to hear the casual, considerate lulls between his words.
Were you seriously going to do this right now? your curiosity was killing you so bad that it makes you wonder if he would take it far and really do it. That tough persona he got going—-would be put to shame if he simply agrees to it. It might lament his rugged appearance even.
"I got my hands full."
You really don't have your hands full.
"Ahh," Endo lowly droned with a hum, his seafoam eyes staring right through you.
Until, that carefree indifference he had turned into glowing beams that you think he would really agree to your favor. The gut feeling was screaming that he would never even hesitate to run off the aisle and take it like a champ prior to his previous reactions—-while the other side of your brain says he would scowl back at you from the request.
"You need me to bring ya' somethin', Fun-size?!" he exclaimed a little bit more enthusiastically, making you think that you would eventually lose this stunt you planned.
You've turned a little bit away from him, the tops of your head not hitting his chest anymore as you looked up at him between your eyelashes. "Yeah, I need pads." a hurried pause—-probably pausing quick to add your words in a rush, "Get me pads!"
Endo's smile faltered at that. Hah. He wouldn't. His eyes turned a little bit bigger out of curiosity, "Pads?"
The ends of his oversized jacket dangled over your fingertips. Its sleeves too long that it really does look twice bigger—-in which you liked because you loved oversized clothing.
"Sanitary pads and menstrual pads!"
"Oh, I see. It's those girl stuff." Endo murmured to himself. One hand inside his pocket while the other lightly and mindlessly traced the infinity symbol on his neck—-appearing to be like he was really at loss for this one—-or probably shameful to even take the stunt, as much as you believed him to be.
Yet, this guy knocked your socks off when his expressions turned a full 360 degree turn and gave an a-okay sign with the brightest beam you can ever see from him.
"Okay! That'll be easy!"
He's crazy and it felt like you were turning into one too—-not like you aren't insane yet.
You couldn't help but backpedal from that harmless feat you had for him. This felt like a slap to the face and a warm hug to the heart. "H-Huh? shouldn't you be saying no?!"
"Huh? why the frickin' hell do you think I would even do that?" Endo began walking past you, immediately remembering the aisle of women's personal care that was 5-6 aisles away from where you both were. "I'll always get you what ya' want!" he waved off his hand from behind, never even looking back as he strutted.
He was really damn serious. Did he even know what pads to take though?
"Y-Yamato!" you've hollered once he was already a few meters away. He stopped walking further, shifting halfway through his heel, momentarily looking back with a fond, beguiling glint in his eyes. Those sharp features he always had with that handsome grin hitting harder than ever before.
"Yep? anythin' else?"
Endo's charisma just tripled in your perspective just by this feat alone. It really did bite you back—-karma striking you like a bitch. His lopsided smile, that suave posture simply hypnotic and breathtaking especially with all those tattoos slipping out of his tank top. He was overall—-grip-inducing today.
This Endo effect was probably because of that fact that there was no hesitation on his face, no complaints over the whole shameless favor. You couldn't help but feel your heart tighten from stifling down that giddy desire to giggle whenever this rugged, dangerous tatted man have always been unbothered and eager to spoil. Willing to obey whatever you demanded.
Fuck. You were subtly beginning to be obsessed by being unconditionally indulged like this.
He had never looked so captivating—-one where you've wanted to bite your own finger just by basking all these attention he was giving—-until today.
"Uhm. I-I need the one with wings to be heavy-flow and the other without—-well, I want that to be a daily-thin one, alright?" you hoped he didn't hear you sound so defeated.
But, his response showed that he really didn't notice the subdued tones it held because he simply nodded eagerly and waved his tattooed hand again as a gesture to let him handle what you needed.
"Okay! Whatever you need, Boss! Ya' gotta' stop stressing and just leave it to me. I gotcha'!"
💬━━━━━━━━━━━━💬
"I should beat the living hell outta' ya' for calling me today."
Endo Yamato gruffly threatened through the receiver. Those words and threats sent needed to be treated gravely. His smartphone on his ear. Eyebrows scrunched together that would make up a grimace—-utmost not happy to be hearing his phone ring at this perfect hour. "Didn't I tell ya' to just leave a message, Dumbass?"
Endo took his time as he walked along the personal care aisle. His eyes raking from different pink, purple, blue and black blocky stuff that he really was unfamiliar with. Not even those women he has been with asked to get them these kind of stuff that was only meant for the ladies.
Only you could—-only he would allow you to. It was not as if Takiishi or Sakura would even ask him to do this anyway.
He sighed through the phone, the other line obviously hearing it loud and clear that the caller wanted to backtrack from even calling him in the first place. If it wasn't really important—-the caller never ever would. "Spill it out already. I don't fuckin' have time for you today." he spat through the call, grimace entirely evident. "—-What's the damn problem?"
A woman whose hair was colored in rose pink passed by the personal care aisle, but never turning to go through it. Lizzy took a double take as she did, pushing her own cart to see Endo Yamato squatted down before a row of several menstrual pads, tampons and other feminine items—-with his phone on his ear as he was crudely talking to someone on call, seeming to be too focused to even pay attention to the several women who was shamelessly stealing glances at him.
Their personal care shopping appeared to take a little bit more time than intended because his presence got them severely distracted.
It doesn't happen everyday that a tall, brawny, tattooed, charming hottie was out to buy...women's menstrual pads, right? if so, they were thinking about whoever was making him buy this as one hell of a lucky bitch.
"Huh?" Lizzy felt like she was struck by lightning when she made sure that it was really who she thinks he is. "The Endo Yamato? Here? buying....menstrual pads?!"
Those tattoos—-that infinity symbol tatted on his neck—-she was sure of it. Lizzy could really distinguish him as Noroshi's founder.
Your close ex-coworker slash friend quickly passed by Endo's aisle—-not daring to enter that path where he was and had other plans in mind. She needed to make sure if that seafoam green haired girl was really you—-the one whom Endo had slipped his jacket on your shoulders with the brightest, smitten smile on his face that Lizzy never sees he randomly gives to just anyone. Ever.
"Was she really serious that night—-?! did she really ask for Endo's help?!"
💬━━━━━━━━━━━━💬
You had no idea what happened—-how you ended up standing in front of Lizzy when you were grabbing onto a bottle of lavender detergent. Her hysteria obviously shown through that ajar mouth she had while looking at you from head to foot as if you've risen up from the dead.
"Tiny-san! I didn't know it was you—-no, no! I know it was you but I contemplated so!"
It has been months since you last seen her. After that one disturbing, violent night that probably got her fainting during your last night working in that high-end bar you've immediately went AWOL for.
She pointed right back with her forefinger, spotting your newly dyed seafoam green hair and clothing that were obviously in good quality. "You changed your hair! you look—-! you look like you're doing good than before—-you look like you're really being better taken care of lately! Financial wise!"
You didn't know what expression you had but you felt like your smiles were tight. So, were you looking really penniless, huh? didn't you look like you take care of yourself before?
Her mouth began to run off. Lizzy's doe eyes turning bigger at the realization—-or the memory she'd once hankered back minutes ago. Eyes clouding in incredulity for what she added next, "I knew it was really you! I just couldn't believe it at first because you were being sweet with—-! with Endo!"
Now, you couldn't help but scrunch your nose at that while your smile continued. Chummy—-sweet with Endo? was it when he was trying to let you wear his jacket? or how you've paused in the middle of the aisle, head pulled back—-hitting his chest while you were staring at each other while trying to pull a stunt?
Perhaps, it maybe looked a little bit chummy in another person's perspective.
You couldn't help but feel your face grow warm again. Your temples beginning to sweat from being interrogated in the middle of having groceries—-bright light basking you in with no remorse even.
"The Endo Yamato?! hoooow?! are you crazy?!" she repeated, hushed but clearly emphasizing his name a little more as if you haven't heard it the first time she mentioned. Lizzy took a step closer, in thorough disbelief as she took your free hand, panicking and placing your palm on her cheek, "Slap me in the face, will ya'?!"
She appeared to be prancing into her own little world as she talked to herself. Hearing an unfamiliar name be mentioned that got you raising both of your brows in confusion. "Should I tell this to Kotoha?!"
Kotoha? who's that? was it a new friend of hers?
You've let out a shaky giggle, never knowing what to say. Struggling on how to keep the pace of her energy with your shocked ones. "Now, that wouldn't be nice of me, right?"
She shook your hand again, trying to get out the most answer from you. "What happened really?! No, no—-whyyyy?!" an abrupt pause. Lizzy's face closer to you now as she whispered—-a thrilled murmur.
"I thought you were dead! There were rumors running around the bar that you've went AWOL because you were kidnapped and battered to death! It got me so worried—-I was mourning for you because your contact number cannot be reached!" pause. "—-I've went to your apartment too and your neighbor told me she just found your room empty when she'd previously talked to you the night before. Hayami-san was also really specific about a guy with tattoos who waited for you for four hours outside your apartment—-and I also assumed your body might have been captured!"
Somebody had spread rumors that you were...dead? It felt like a bucket of ice was thrown over your head at her admission. Shit, she was right though, knowing the person you have bashed in the head was a member in a gang.
Her admission got you awkwardly laughing. The obvious stutter making everything sound faux that you want to continue this conversation, wondering where it was going anyway. "S-should I be? really? Hehe. You're right. I think I should be dead right now with...whatever shit I did back then."
Your ankles felt jittery. Hands fidgety too when you tried to walk over to your own cart, passing by her. A deep breath escaping your mouth as you've gently placed the laundry detergent inside it.
Once that was done, you've fished out your phone and went to contacts, giving your phone to Lizzy for her to input her number since you recently acquired a new sim card.
"I think we should talk next time, Lizzy. We shouldn't chat here." yeah, you both needed to talk somewhere else when you know damn that Endo might be lurking around and Lizzy seemed like she wanted to talk more about him and his situation with you.
"Just input your number and I'll call you or something."
She took it with wide eyes, astonished to see that it wasn't your old one either.
"Even got the latest smartphone?! what were you doing for the past three months—-!?" she had exclaimed, never knowing if she should whisper or not. Though, her next words got you choking on air—-got your heart beat thumping so fast as if it was running a marathon.
"or should I say who were you doing—-!"
You've held a palm before her, gesturing her to stop before she can even finish her sentence, knowing she would be subtly suggesting innuendos just by her tone alone—-and by whom you were in a complicated relationship with. "NO! No! Let's not get there!" you quickly cut her train of thoughts as if you were scathed. Well, your cheeks felt like it was burning already.
Lizzy had a knowing look. She was even grinning as she did, "You sound quite defensive, Tiny-san!"
You could feel your whole face burning up. Of course, she would think of that. Any person would assume something intimate was happening between you both because of how they were analyzing this unexpected help that was offered by Endo.
The world seemed accustomed to the fact that if another person does provide you clothing and stuff you liked—-in a perspective of a normal person, they would be expecting something in return for the services and aid they endeavor.
The debt of gratitude to be given in the form that would benefit the opposite sex—-and in moments like this, since you were a woman and Endo was indeed, a man. People always end up thinking it would be sex.
But, no. You were never given the obligation to repay him like that—-to make matters worse, Endo Yamato never once forced himself in that sort of way; never sent hints of creating sexual relations with you nor even ask for anything in return which was really strange because he looked like he was just genuinely doing all of this like a bonafide aid that he needed and wanted to do for you.
Which makes the guilt of accepting all his acts of service grow worse as days go by with him because he continues to shower you with what you needed, liked and wished for. No matter what cost.
Even going all out of his way which makes you terribly incredulous over why.
You could feel your heart being strangled tight. Oh no, not again. The words inside your mind not cooperating with your mouth, "Yamato and I—-! We aren't like that—-! We're not doing anything like that—-!"
As if Lizzy has seen a ghost, she'd immediately shut her mouth when you've felt someone loom behind you—-his warmth, his presence instantly being recognized just by the click-clacks of his loafers.
Long, rough, genial hands fell on your head. Your heart relishing the feeling of being clogged up as Endo had surprisingly patted your head affectionately—-one he has never done out yet whenever he was with you, only experiencing this phenomenon for the first time.
"Oi, fun-size." he'd gruffly called you out, stepping aside to give you his full attention. Seafoam eyes giving you a side-long glance, bending closer to your height, noticing your cheeks hinting in pink hues that he never commented out loud.
Endo dropped the feminine stuff you've told him inside your cart, "I've got the girl stuff. What else do ya' need?"
You've even felt his fingers stroke the top of your untied hair, down towards the seafoam ends of it. A finger mindlessly twirling a strand, unconsciously playing with it. This genial act stirring you up in surprise that had you looking at him with three snake heads while he casually gazes into yours like how he normally does.
"Oh, what's up? ya' look really spooked." He blinked back at you, wondering why you weren't saying a single thought when he could hear aisles away from how you were whisper-yelling with this friend of yours. Was this the Lizzy you were talking about? the one with the rose pink colored hair?
Endo stared you down with those sharp eyes of his before paving a casual glance towards Lizzy, giving the least amount of attention he can ever give before looking back at you again, "Are ya' already done with the chit-chat?"
Lizzy seemed like she was in too much shock to comprehend how the founder of Noroshi was casually in front of her—-having groceries with her friend, weaving his fingers through your hair and looking down bad for you too. No damn way was the only thought she can form right now.
Just by your reactions alone screams that you haven't even realized that yet—-or you were perhaps, terribly in-denial.
Endo deliberately dropped his tattooed fingers that was mindlessly playing the ends of your hair when you began to stutter. Introducing your friend to him with a skeptical wince that got him forming a grin, "Y-Yamato—-listen, uhm, L-Lizzy...this is Lizzy—-,"
He'd taken a gander, giving her the quickest once over, acknowledging her presence, "Ahhh," he casually spoke, this time—-his hoarse tones drawling longer than usual as if he still had nothing to say to her.
"It's her. The rose-topped server you were talkin' about." Endo droned. Sharp, seafoam eyes perceived her, Lizzy continued smiling like she was about to shit bricks.
"Hey." Endo gave her a small nod and a subtle quirk of his lips which meant a lot to you because you expected him to ignore her all the way because of his disinterested tones prior to your conversation with him. But, he didn't.
Lizzy looked like she had seen and heard a ghost. You were mentally whacking her on the head because of how constipated she looked at the moment.
Though, Endo's response was good, you guessed. You've let out a breath you were holding for far too long. Your mouth trying to keep away the awkward tension—-freeing yourself from this absurdity. Lizzy's voice just echoing on the back of your head from the time she was casually spilling table talks—-those warnings she'd told youabout him months ago.
"Lizzy, t-this is Endo—-!"
The girl has cut you off before you can even finish your sentence. Her wordings never hitting right. She nodded repeatedly—-probably aware of the impression she was getting around him, feeling the gist that Endo was of neutral to her presence—-nothing more, nothing less. But, he was also not rudely shooing her off though. Probably, it's only because you knew her and she was your friend.
"Oh, I-I know exactly who Endo-san is! No need for the long introduction!"
I know exactly who Endo-san is, really?
You wanted to facepalm at that. Lizzy made it sound like she knew him from notorious whispers and it made you want to bore yourself in a hole and never come out again.
You've turned your body more—-towards Endo as he glanced back at you with a languid blink. Reading that pleading look inside your eyes, "Y-you forgot something, Yamato!"
Endo held a hand up his messy hair, tousling at it with a grumble. His sinewy, tattooed biceps bulging from the simple action alone, "Hey, I didn't!" he roughly defended, knowing he was damn right. "I've got everything right for ya'! I never make mistakes!"
"Feminine wash!" a sudden exclamation which has gotten Lizzy glancing at you too—-far too immersed over Endo's presence that she probably didn't realize she was staring at the lad a little too long. Were you the reason why he was on that aisle the first place?
His sharp eyes turned a little wider at that. You definitely did not tell him to get that while he was on the way there. Though, this particular product was easier to get than the previous ones. "Huh? Feminine wash?" pause. "You definitely didn't mention that earlier!"
"Did I say feminine wash—-?" you've awkwardly asked yourself, thinking out loud. "Yes, feminine wash! That's—-that's important too!"
Endo's seafoam eyes clouded with a bit of ponder. Though, he was also reading this sudden favor of yours as if you wanted more time with Lizzy.
It got him feeling this strange, bitter indignation that somehow crept up in crevices he could ever felt—-this familiar feeling that he has always been accustomed in experiencing with Takiishi too.
He wasn't used to you—-pushing him away—-or trying to steer clear of his presence. It felt like you were cutting off the supply of his own oxygen especially when you've already exposed him to the sheer feeling of it since day one. Being starved of your sole focus and attention despite of the inconsistent pull away was leaving an unpleasant taste in his mouth. The attention he receives from Takiishi was far more different than yours. The complete opposite of it. More so, even going beyond than what Endo usually gets from Sakura as well.
You've somehow never given him less which would really get anyone suspicious if you've suddenly changed just because of a person who was at present.
While Takiishi—-he was used to it since day one nor does he have any say to the attitude he gives him because he still wholeheartedly accepts him no matter what he receives from the guy.
Nevertheless, his own feelings were always pushed aside like a routine he ought to take and accept with no resentment to it at all. That's how it's supposed to be. That's how it should be. Or to put it simply...
Endo eventually just came to terms with it because that's just how...it is.
"Please, Yamato?" one soft plead—-the softest he has ever heard from you that he has never heard at all before. "I swear, that's it. Just that one girl stuff left and nothing else anymore."
Endo held your gaze, never withdrawing. Your brow slightly furrowed, lashes fluttering with timidity. Eyes glassy from the sheer anxiety you were feeling inside, a soft, spoken request that he would never have a chance to say no.
Not that he would, ever.
He was drowning in those overwhelmed emotions trapped inside your eyes—-those emotions that were unsettled and ambiguous. There was no doubt—-no hesitation that he was a willing victim of this suffocation you were giving.
"Geez." Endo gruffly murmured. His seafoam eyes glazing with excitement by all those unwonted, soft, pleading you were gradually showering him in. The teasing lilt in his voice gave away how captivated he was by just that simple, warm tones you hardly ever use on him. "Well, shit. Aren't you just absolutely adorable when you try?"
Endo grinned from ear-to-ear, the tint in his cheeks showing again which had you awkwardly smiling back at him. "Heh—-! Alright, alright! Sure!" and it seemed like this guy had his emotions all over the roof from that, "I'll get it for ya'—-" Cheeks flushed. His train of thoughts were cut off, moving onto another sentence that got you unconsciously nodding back at him. His own babbles getting ahead of himself—-this giddy rush of adrenaline made him trip over his own words without filter. "Hell, just ask whatever and I'll get everything ya' want! Even if you ask me to burn this supermarket down—-! I'd do it!"
Burn what now?
Endo was quick to turn around with his heel, trotting away with an incessant smile that never left his sharp features.
Lizzy was left dumb. Speechless. Just watching the Endo Yamato in the flesh—-experiencing the weirdest paroxysm of elation—-like he was certainly fine being at your beck and call when he was given such a strong, rugged impression by people whenever he was seen out in other places.
"You know, I told you he isn't sane. I already gave you enough reasons—-! I've already warned you a lot about Endo." your friend was mumbling a lot after witnessing everything unfold before her like a nightmare she never once deemed to believe, "Burn the supermarket down if you wanted to? Damn. I know that crazy guy would do it for sure." she'd emitted a soft huff.
When Endo was finally out of sight, you've calmly breathed out the breath you were holding. Suddenly, feeling a harsh chop to the top of your head, making you exclaim and hold onto it so hard.
"Aw! what was that for, Lizzy?!"
Lizzy had an obvious grimace, "You lil' vixen—-I didn't know you could do it!"
You held onto your head. Covering that part where she had playfully attacked. "What?! what did I do?!"
Lizzy squinted her eyes back at you. Thoroughly skeptical of what she witnessed—-no, she wasn't buying it. It was impossible. You were impossible. Absurd. "Just admit it, witch." she spat, a death look in her eyes as she seriously admitted without a break in her words.
"It's either you're lying and did all those bedroom tricks you've learned from those fanfics you were giggling about during break time—-," she took one quick breather before her mouth began to run another marathon—-just like how a mother would because she has caught her daughter lacking, "—-or that coochie is just absolutely impeccable that he can't resist and you're drowning him in it—-!"
You couldn't help but narrow your eyes into thin slits over where she was going with all her unsupported accusations that eventually lead into one rude awakening she strongly believed.
All her accusations lead to you being the bad guy—-sleeping your way through this spoon-feeding opportunities that Endo has voluntarily offered.
Hence, Lizzy's last accusation sounded bonkers for you to even comprehend.
"Or you've basically just drugged, Endo."
💬━━━━━━━━━━━━💬
Maybe you did. It could be that Lizzy might be right for her accusations. The last part, that is.
"No wonder you get slapped by Takiishi all the damn time." you've deadpanned nasally. Mostly sarcastic by the words that came out of your mouth as Endo sat criss-cross beside you in front of the coffee table while you were opening that small bag filled with night essentials. The television screen turned on with Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 running in the background.
Seafoam eyes gleamed so bright—-never hearing what you said because he was too happy to even care that you were siding with Takiishi in that fact—-not that he even has a say to it. His mouth was thoroughly upturned today especially after he'd gotten to devour that Oyakodon you made for him that you have been a little rusty with.
This might have been the most insufferable he has ever been. Why?
He tailed you anywhere—-followed you everywhere and even handled the dirty dishes when you told him it was fine because you wanted to do it for him.
What shocked you was that—-Endo had even obscurely prepared you a warm bath when you've thought he was finally fed up of your presence.
💬━━━━━━━━━━━━💬
The wet rag balled beneath your palm. You were halfway through a broad stroke of the cloth that you were silently cleaning on the table when you've felt a stealthy, warm presence loom behind.
"Oi, Fun-size." Endo stepped more in your space, his gruff, low murmur chimed against the shell of your ear. A sweet, toying lilt to it that tickled your insides so bad because of how it could mistakenly be defined as a coo you have never heard before, "So, ya' got time for me or what?" his warm breath hit your skin, suddenly giving you whiplash—-and a dizzy drop of your heart.
"Drop the rag."
You've instantly stilled at that, refusing to scrub that stubborn spot on the table when he'd caught you in such a close proximity—-whispering words that felt louder when he was this near. His seafoam eyes tracked your stilled hands, a small grin upturned, knowing he has full blown—-got your entire attention.
"I've got something to show ya'. Come with me for a sec,"
You were eagerly grabbed by your wrists. His fingers tightened gently around it, pulling you backwards. Your hands still wet from wiping the table.
He didn't look back once. Endo's tall, broad-shouldered figure cutting through where he was bringing you until you've recognize the path he was taking.
"Yamato—-!" you were trying to get his attention but only a low chuckle of his raspy voice was given which was really surprising because this guy was a yapper at heart.
"Relax! It's just a little somethin' that I know you'll like!"
To which you were welcomed with a bath tub filled with the right amount of bubbles—-not too much nor too less.
Endo squatted before the tub, dipping his hand a little to check the temperature if it was still warm for you to bathe in—-which was awfully thoughtful to the extent that you've had your fists clenched on either side. Words falling short as he started talking with a small, upturned smile.
"Saw you added foamy, bubble bombs in the cart so I assumed you like that!" he eagerly admitted, noting that he saw you adding different sets of bath bombs in the cart—-mostly bubble bombs. "—-So, might as well use some of it tonight, yeah?"
What was that tight, warm feeling inside your chest? It felt like a suffocating warmth that was squeezing your heart with your own damned hands.
"Do...I smell like shit already?" were the only words that came out of your mouth and it didn't sound exactly right at this moment.
But, you also didn't know what to say to Endo's constant pampering for you no matter how much you try to draw a line to this expressions of reverence—-Endo was totally genius enough to breach his way and make it happen eventually.
Yamato quickly turned to gaze up at you before he stood on both feet. Flicking his wet, bubbly, tattooed hand for it to dry. His height now towering your shorter figure. His seafoam eyes widening, "What?! Huh?! No, no! That wasn't what I meant! I didn't say you smell like shit—-!"
You've given him a snort, your laughter instantly making him beam brighter than the lights in your bathroom. "I'm kidding, Yamato." a soft sigh left your mouth at that. Your tones intentionally turning softer and genuine—-as if this was what your heart has been saying, "Thank you. Really."
"Knowing your appreciation is enough for me, Fun-size!" Endo exclaimed, a little bit too happy for such...simple words.
You truly feel like your appreciation for him wasn't...enough. Though, you never said that out loud and kept it more to yourself.
You had your fists clenched together. All these suppressed questions—-thoughts—-all trapped inside that fist, absolutely warm and trembling. He was doing too much for a person who's receiving nothing in return.
"Why...did you even do this? I can prepare this myself, you know?"
"Ahh," Endo slipped his tattooed hand inside his jeans, the other pointing towards the small digital clock that was resting on the side of the sink. "—-it's 'cause you always bathe during this time around." the end of of his lips turned into a playful grin.
"Don't question it. You look like you needed your me time after making dinner."
Deep down, that reluctant feeling inside your heart, you wondered how he prepares hot baths for Takiishi—-hopeful how he does it; wishing to experience it yourself and you know you have been a shameful person—-sinful enough that receiving wishes like this in an instant was not right.
Your throat felt like sand scratching against dust. You couldn't help but swallow those stifled words stuck in your throat.
This felt like you were feeling other strong, unfamiliar emotions already.
You didn't know what to say. All your thoughts completely shattering behind your teeth.
His posture was relaxed. Endo's broad shoulders leaned back and the way he looked at you in the middle of the bathroom was anything but casual. He looked like he was trying to understand what was going inside your head—-something he was constantly doing since then because no matter what happened—-he was somehow being shut-out for reasons that eluded him.
You open the book then quickly close it before Endo could even wrap his head in it.
"Oh, I see." he'd tilted his head. Sharp eyes heavy—-weirdly dancing with a thrilled, satisfied intensity. His rough voice dropping into a scratchy, amused rumble. This question dancing in between realizing that he was relating you to Takiishi—-unconsciously bridging the gap between you two. "You like it too, don't ya', Fun-size?"
Endo took your silence as obedience, turning around and beginning to waltz out of the bathroom. "Okay! Guess I'll always have a warm, bubble bath waitin' for ya'. I'm handling that from now on too. Ya' don't even gotta' lift a damn finger." He didn't fight the overwhelming urge to ruffle your hair as he passed by, hearing him emit a low, gruff chuckle as he did.
"I'm leaving the bathroom—-," he started before remembering that basket filled of womanly essentials he'd filled in for you.
Endo ceased before the threshold, halfway turning his body as he'd given you a side-long glance, seeing that you were already staring right back at him while he was leaving, "Hey, ya' better use those tub treats I prepared for you. Those are all for ya'."
"Go relax and have fun in there."
💬━━━━━━━━━━━━💬
In which he had returned to his normal self by following you around again after that perfect and comforting hour long bath you had—-deciding to spend a few more hours with you before leaving your apartment to go to his and tend to Takiishi.
You were tapping on your heated cheeks—-letting the moisturizer sink in. With Endo sitting beside you—-seafoam eyes gleaming weirdly, continuously watching you with a small smile to his face. The television obviously being ignored as it felt like he chose to observe you instead.
It was making you entirely self conscious especially when he wasn't trying to be subtle about it. You wanted him to do something else than watch you get ready for the night because if he continued—-you were going to go insane.
The hairbrush that laid on the coffee table caught your eye.
You noticed that after you had your hair dyed specifically with the color of his eyes—-he liked touching it in the most subtle way as possible, whether it be pushing your hair back as he helped you wear your helmet or mindlessly reaching out for the ends of your hair out of nowhere in the most random times.
Perhaps, he liked that.
Hence, in this particular instance—-that growing warmth forming beneath your chest wished to indulge him on what he wanted, liked or deserved—-and not just the other way around. "Do you..." you've trailed off, grabbing onto your hair brush with trembling fingers. The cozy feeling reaching the tips of your toes, itching its way to your knees.
You've cleared your throat. No, you needed him to do this. "No." you abruptly admitted out loud—-this one sounding like it was for yourself.
Endo's smile faltered for a bit, a tiny frown being given as he patiently waited for you to continue. His tattooed hand already reaching out for that hairbrush prior to your no's. He immediately knew what you needed without even verbally speaking it out loud.
"I...want you to brush my hair for me, Yamato." your tones dwindled in between your lines. Wary to even be asking him this yourself because you never do—-never been the one to reach out for any type of assistance like this. It was always him doing most—-acting out the most.
You were fidgeting with the hairbrush that hang up mid-air. "I...really like it when you're..." Your own words came out in murmurs, a wave of heat being sent to your cheeks—-totally wary of what was being admitted out loud. "...I like it when you're always taking care of my hair for me."
There was that sudden flush pooling beneath your chest again. It always happens whenever Endo was around—-the sheer heat consuming you more than what you could bear.
It doesn't help the fact that he was always sly and slick. Sharp and snarky. Never hesitant to share conversations with a bite. Talking with Endo always felt like you were playing with blue flames. He always kept you on your toes—-effortlessly tossing in his weaponized charms through out all your chatters with him.
Endo kept you on edge, always feeling like you were being dangled on a cliff—-desperately holding onto his hand as he was reaching out to you with an ecstatic grin that says he was enjoying all the raucous he caused or specifically being at awe towards the rotten luck of being swallowed by the bluest inferno that he shrouded you in. The more time spent with him—-felt like he opted to keep his own presence deeply rooted inside your mind when in fact—-Endo was certainly ignorant of it all.
"You do, huh?" he let out an airy chuckle, "Ya' like it when I take care of these sort of stuff for ya'?"
Endo's frown turned into a soft grin. His seafoam eyes caught in the living room lights, holding the brilliance of cut glass while he quickly took the hairbrush from you, instantly scooting behind. His tattooed fingers raking your nearly dried locks—-leniently untangling those knots. His merciful touches alerting your insides of something new.
"Well, that just about does it for me."
Something strange and worth for your heart to be wary for because of how this familiar feeling was treading between danger—-one that felt right before jumping over the end of a cliff or a car crash, with the urge to accept this fate and brace everything with open arms.
Hence, before you know it, those wary thoughts you have been thinking all the while was inevitable when Endo leaned in. His mouth close to the shell of your ear, breath hitting just right that had the hair on your nape stood like a prey caught by the fangs of a snake.
"Your hair's just as precious to me as it is to you." Endo's voice was low. Gruff. Vibrating in an amount that kept your heart lounging out of your chest. He whispered directly, hearing his thrilled grins just by his heavy, honest admissions that were spoken in one breathless rasp.
His raw, unpolished, breathy admission catching more than just your guard—-grasping hard around your heart. Your heart beat violently pounding against your ribs. Endo's tatted fingers lightly combed your dyed, seafoam green hair. The hairbrush momentarily set aside—-this unfamiliar, surprising, affectionate gesture feeling like a subtle possessive glide. The pads of his fingers sweeping over your scalp.
Your heart skipped a beat. Breath hitching. His honed nose faintly buried over your soft strands. The yearning proximity holding more than just heartfelt and dangerously stifled thoughts.
"'Cause ya' know, It's our special little connection, after all."
There were no red strings; no unbreakable bond. Perhaps, you were predestined to be doomed—-because no matter what twists and turns you've taken night after night on your bed—-you always ended up harboring the desire to take a serpent's snares despite being already bitten by its own fangs.
LET ME HEAR Y'ALL SCREAM FOR ENDO IN THIS! He's very grip-inducing in this one shot, I really wanna giggle out loud right now.
Btw, I do have another Endo oneshot for y'all. But, it's GOING TO BE LONGER AND ALSO FILLED WITH VIOLENCE. Which is why I might cut the next one shot into 2 parts because it's 20k long already and I have this bad habit of adding more dialogues than what was already planned. Damn.

📌 AO3 | 'REBIRTH' series masterlist | chapter
Children used to be loud and noisy. Chaotically energetic. One day, they lose their spark.
The noise seems to be overwhelming. Too overwhelming, and you clutch your head, kneeling down at the festival.
The scent of barbeque stung your nose; the smoke and ash burned your eyes. The sparklers went off every second, and fireworks shot into the sky. You didn’t want to stare at the ugly, bright flowers that painted the sky, before fading into dust.
Out of nowhere, a hand clutched yours, leading you through the festival. You didn’t scream or react to the stranger. In fact, you wanted him to guide you through and away from the noise, the movements, the people.
He seemed to be the same age as you. Or younger, with blonde-beige, wavy hair, wearing an orange-patterned kimono.
“K… Ka—” You hitched a breath, eyes widening. The boy swiveled around, arms in the air.
“Here! I thought you wanted to be away from the noise, so—”
Tears slipped down your cheeks, blurring your vision.
You were foolish enough to believe that it was him.
You used the back of your hand to wipe away the tears, but it was an endless spill. Your throat felt unpleasant, as if it nudged you to shatter the silence. There, a guttural wail pierced through the night. Your heart thrashed against your chest like a roaring drum. Head throbbing against the incessant noise, you gripped your hair to ease the tumult.
Seconds ticked, then minutes. The birds still chirped in the park, and the tender breezes kissed against your bare skin. Your tears staining your face had begun to dry up, and your heartbeat steadied. Finally, you locked eyes with the stranger who brought you to the park. A place away from the festival's bright lights and cacophony.
Your lips parted open, wanting to ask for his name. Though, it seemed that he knew what you were going to ask because he shook his head at you.
“Uh-uh. My name’s not important right now! Are you alright?” His tone filled with worry when he gazed at you, frowning when you nodded your head.
“Riiiiight...” The boy blew out a sigh of relief, his right hand over his chest. “Oh well, if you say so. My name’s Choji Tomiyama. You can call me Choji-Choji!” Your face twitched as you refrained from smiling.
“Right… Choji-san—”
“Just Choji-kun will be fine, you know that, right?”
“Okay.” You bit back a groan. “Choji-s—” He raised an eyebrow. “Never mind.”
“Oh well. Let me know if you ever want to talk! I’ll always be around town here on this side of the tracks of Shishitoren turf. Nice to meet you, uh…” He squinted at you, examining you from top to bottom. “Hm! I forgot to ask for your name! Whoops.”
“It’s… y/n. Y/n y/ln. Nice… to meet you.” You gulped down the cold air that blew your way, goosebumps tingling your arms.
This isn’t him. Breathe.
“Breathe.” You didn’t even realize you uttered the words aloud until they left your mouth.
He winked at you as he made a finger gun with both hands, pointing right at you.
“Yeah, that’s what you need to do!” His eyes brightened. “Ah, though, speaking of which, why were you crying?”
Why were you?
It hadn’t even been a full week of school when you decided to study with your friend, Ayaka. Oftentimes, you would study to meet your school expectations or distract your mind. Today, it was the former.
You flipped through your notebook, scanning the organized and color-coded bullet points. You scribbled down unfamiliar concepts on a sticky note before looking them up. This became a repeated process for minutes as you reviewed a section from your notes. When you felt that you neared the middle segment of notes, you looked up at the library ceiling. A yawn escaped your mouth as you stretched out your arms, eyes trained on the ceiling lights.
What time is it?
You bolted upwards, scrambling to turn on your black-screened laptop. The cursor hit the bottom right corner of the screen. 14:28. You pursed your lips together, folding your arms. You leaned back against the wooden chair, wondering where she was. Ayaka is always on time, so what was the delay today?
You clicked your tongue. Scattered pieces of post-its found their way to the notebook, and the laptop made it into your tote bag. Something felt off, as you scooted your chair out, running out of the library with the tote bag on your shoulder.
You hurried off onto the main street of Makochi. In the distance, you found a familiar figure dipping her head to several boys. Ayaka bowed to the boys who wore a black uniform with a green cuff. You widened your eyes, stopping dead in your tracks. The Furin High School uniform.
As you quickened your pace towards Ayaka, your heart began to thump against your chest.
“Ayaka-chan..?” She waved at the pink-haired boy, turning to face you.
“Oh! Y/n-san, I didn’t know you were here. I… These boys from Bofurin helped me out. Sorry, I wasn’t able to make it to the library today…” She closed her eyes and sighed.
“That’s not important!” You clutched her shoulders and rocked her back and forth. “Are you alright?” You reached for her hands and arms, checking if she had any scratches or bruises.
“I’m fine, y/n-san! Don’t worry about me. That guy—” She swiveled around to point at the pink-haired boy. “saved me. Thank goodness he was there. His name... Kiryu, if my memory serves me right.”
“I see.” You blew out a sigh of relief. “That’s good to hear, then. Was it only he who… took down these people?” You gaped at the collapsed bodies on the ground, blood and saliva splattering the ground.
“Oh, goodness no! His classmates also helped me out. From… Class 1-1. That’s what I heard from one of the boys…” Ayaka shrugged. “They’re all first-year students at Furin High School.”
“Ah.” You let go of Ayaka, swinging your arms to your sides. Guess he isn’t here.
“Why? Are you interested in talking to any of the boys?” she asked bluntly.
You yelled, “N-not like that!” Following a playful slap on her shoulder, you added: “I know a few people from Bofurin, that’s why. I was wondering if they were here.”
“Uh-uh.” Ayaka snorted. “Just go ask the boys if they know the people you know. It’s not that big of a—”
“It is.” You frowned, folding your arms together. “If he knows I've gone searching for him, he's going to…” You trailed off, your tone more gentle and softer. Run away again. And you didn’t want him to escape your grasp again, when you knew that he was so close to you.
“Going to?” Ayaka pressed for more details, a grin forming on her face. “Going to what?”
“Going to jump me!” You shot your hands up in the air before letting them come back down. “I hate him.” She looked at you, confused by your switch in demeanor, but didn’t nag you for more details.
“Ah, Ayaka-chan?” Your face was slightly pale, and the dark eye circles plagued you. You hadn't slept well for days following the encounter with the Furin High School boys. There seemed to be a question nagging you, awaiting an answer in desperation.
The teacher turned towards the board, scribbling the dates for upcoming quizzes. You leaned towards Ayaka, murmuring to her: “Do you know anyone by the name of…”
“Of?” Ayaka raised her eyebrows, looking at you, and then at the teacher.
You put your index finger near your lips, shaking your head. Noticing the teacher tapping her foot against the floor, you mouthed the words: “I’ll tell you later.”
When the teacher had their back towards the students, you whispered his name to Ayaka.
She looked up at the ceiling, tapping her fingers against the desk. She pulled out an index card and scribbled some words before passing it to you.
Sounds familiar. I don’t think I know him personally, but I’ll let you know if I see him around.
A small smile formed on your face as you wrote a quick thanks on the index card and passed it back to her.
When the bell rang for lunchtime, students dashed out of class to reunite with their friends. Inattentive to your classmates’ movements, you set your metal lunchbox on the table. You opened the lid of the box, excited to try out the onigiri you prepared early in the morning. The whiff of soy sauce and salted salmon made you want to dig into lunch.
“Y/n-san, do you want some peaches?” Ayaka nudged your shoulders as you bit into your onigiri.
You turned your head towards her, nodding to her question.
“Yes, please. I’d love some.” Ayaka handed you a slice of peach as you set down your onigiri in the lunchbox. You examined the fruit for several seconds before taking a bite. “Hm, it’s not peach season yet, though?” Ayaka nodded but shrugged.
Somehow, your initial thought was: “It’s sweet.” You made a small face, your nose scrunched, and your eyebrows creased together.
Ayaka giggled and shook her head at you. She tapped her lips twice before commenting on your remark.
“Of course, silly, peaches are sweet. Have you never had one before?”
“—Peaches are sweet! Have you never had one before?”
You paused—those words seemed too familiar, as if they had come out of your mouth before.
You smiled at the distant memory of the past, then asked if you could indulge yourself in another slice. Ayaka nodded, scooting her lunchbox closer to you.
Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love 💗 (No pressure!)
I am SO sorry for the late reply, but tysm for this ask I absolutely love it🫶🫶 If I had to choose my fav five fics I've written, I think it'd be these:
call my name (ongoing, wc 353k, 60/65)
✰ tags: Levi/reader, canonverse, slow burn, hurt/comfort, angst, Ackerman lore, smut
✰ summary: You are wanted. So is Levi, but nobody's stupid enough to mess with Humanity's Strongest. Little do they know that you're not one to be messed with either. And to be messing with you also means to be messing with him.
As if having to worry about the titans wasn't enough.
Or: You have enlisted in the military to join the Survey Corps, all to protect Eren. But when you meet a certain Captain, you discover that maybe, there is more to life than just worrying about that little brat.
✰ why it's one of my favs: it's my very first fic and it's my baby lol. it's not perfect and there are things I'd change if I'd started writing it today, but it holds a special place in my heart.
where you go, I'll go (completed, wc 3.2k, one-shot)
✰ tags: Levi/reader, canonverse, hurt/comfort, angst, no smut but Levi thinks dirty thoughts, unplanned pregnancy
✰ summary: Just before the Battle of Heaven and Earth, you discover something which might prevent both you and Levi from participating in the final war.
✰ why it's one of my favs: it's a spin-off of call my name and I had so much fun writing it!
the stars don't glow, the moon can't shine (ongoing, wc 9.8k, 1/2)
✰ tags: Levi/reader, royalty au, former thug!Levi turned knight!Levi, angst, smut
✰ summary: When Levi sees you for the first time, he immediately knows you don’t belong here, in the slums where the alleys are too dark for light to reach them and too light for stars to be seen.
You’re elusive and bright and wonderful, like the sun and the moon and the stars he’s been starved for, for as long as he can remember. But then one day, you’re gone, as abruptly as you appeared into his life.
Now, years later, he’s no longer a street rat but an anointed Knight in the Royal Guard. About to be married off to a faceless princess as reward for his prowess on the battlefield.
And all he can think about is that he never got to learn your name.
✰ why it's one of my favs: I wrote it on a whim, but I ended up adoring Levi and reader in this one! also, I love royalty AUs XD
✰ tags: Levi/Reader, tooth-rotting fluff, childhood friends to lovers
✰ why it's one of my favs: I just really love the idea that Levi acts so different towards you that everyone immediately knows that you're taken, even if you're technically not dating lmao.
"Defy" (ongoing, wc 146.5k, 36/?)
✰ tags: Sakura/reader, Suo/reader, Nirei/reader, Kiryu/reader, Kaji/reader, Togame/reader, Endo/reader, reverse-harem (if you hadn't already guessed that from the tags lol), canonverse, gender bend, secret identity, fluff, angst, T+ rated
✰ summary: Your goal is to protect as many people as possible, and what better way to do that than to join Bofurin, the defenders of the town?
There's only one problem: You’re a girl.
Which is why you decide to enrol in Furin High disguised as a boy and using your brother’s name.
Meanwhile, all the Furin boys wonder what it is about the new boy that makes them think and do all kinds of things they wouldn’t normally do…
✰ why it's one of my favs: my second fic ever! it's very different from my aot fics, much lighter and with a lot of fluffy and fun moments. it's been such a joy to write this as a break from all the violence and angst in my aot fics lol.
