The Infernal Dukes: Nirgali the Duke of Infected Wounds
Still rewriting D&D story, and continuing to work through the Dukes of the Gray Wastes. Nirgali is also based on the Devil Dagon (not the demon) from Green Ronin and Dicefreaks. Still not clear with how I am going to design this guy.
Nirgali, Duke of Infected Wounds, Lord of Puss
Patron: Baalzebul
This Duke has had a long and elaborate history, once he served the legendary Beherit, before his destruction at the hands of an enraged Asmodues. Nirgali was the only servant of Beherit with the good sense to instantly switch sides, and thus was spared, though very few wanted to associate with one connected to Beherit. Thus Nirgali was mostly a marginalized force, until Baalzebul took on his title "Slug Lord" and all that it entailed. Suddenly, Nirgali was wanted again at court, for the hideous Lord of Infection made Baalzebul feel better about his own form. Eventually however, his perfectionist nature couldn't stand it anymore, and Nirgali was made a Duke of the Gray Wastes, and has ruled every since.
Domain: Nirgali dwells in the middle of a vast swamp, which by design is impassible, as his minions simply rely upon teleport. This has proved to be the death of multiple Blood War armies, as Nirgali dwells closest to their border and is normally the first they attack. However, Nirgali has two great strengths in addition to his swamp, he has some of the best trained legions (mostly bone Devils) in the multiverse, and he is a fantastic spy master in his own right. His organization, the Order of the Maggot, focuses almost entirely upon collecting information about the Abyss to use to destroy them. Secretly however, Nirgali is trying to find a way to divert their invasion to Mephistopheles realm, to destroy him for the sake of his master. Nirgali plans however to include his current boss in that invasion, as both Baalzebul and the Lord of Hellfire are not as important as his true master, Beherit.
