"What are you doing?" You walk up to Kurt with big steps. He's sitting there with his guitar on his lap, carving something into it.
"Carving your name into my guitar." He says as if it were a matter of course and continues to carve your name. You stand next to him and run your fingers through his hair.
"Kurt, are you high?" You ask him, thinking he wouldn't do that sober.
He looks up and nods. His pupils are huge. "Yes. But that doesn't change what I do. I want it like this." He clears his throat and continues.
You watch him finish the last letters of your name, then he looks up at you. "What do you think?" He holds out his guitar to you.
"It's okay." You answer him after a brief look. Kurt looks at you in horror. "It's just okay?" He asks.
"I'm just saying it would look better if it said 'Y/N + Kurt'."
Kurt's horrified face twists into a grin. "You think that would look better?" He asks, convinced of the idea. "Absolutely." You assure him.
"Then you do that." He holds out his guitar to you. You point. "You want me to do this?" "Yes. Then everyone has done their part."
You doubt. "But what if it looks like shit? What if I screw it up?"
"You can't screw up at all. Have you seen mine? It doesn't look good." As Kurt speaks, you run your fingers over the notches that make your name.
"Come on honey. I want to show the world that we belong together." He wraps his arm around your legs and pulls you close.
You put your arms around his neck and run your fingers through the hair at the back of his head. "But you have to promise me that you won't destroy it."
You stick your pinky finger out at him. "Pinky promise?" You ask. Kurt replies. "Of course. Otherwise the tabloids will think we're not together anymore."
You sit down across from him. "All right. Hand it over, then." You hold out your hands, Kurt hands you the guitar. You position it on your lap. "Here, take the knife." You accept it and start carving a big '+' into it.
"Beautiful honey. Better than mine." Says Kurt. You grin and carve the letters of his name into it.
When you're done, you look at your handiwork. "I messed it up. The 'R' turned out way too small." You whine.
"No it didn't. It turned out perfect." He stands up and lifts the guitar, holding it away from him. "This is now the most valuable guitar I've ever owned and ever will."
"Thanks for your help." He leans down and pecks your lips. "I'll use it right away at the next gig."
"Don't do that." You try to persuade him. "Yes I will. You can't change my mind Y/N." He leaves the room and says. "I want everyone to know that you belong to me."

Krist and Dave were sitting on the couch, both groaning and rolling their eyes at you both.
You and Kurt fought so often, it made you wonder sometimes why they still kept you around. The air was filled with cigarette smoke and thick tension.
"Jesus Christ! God, why don't you ever just shut up?" Kurt yelled.
"Maybe I would if you didn't make those sarcastic ass comments. You know what your fucking doing." you huffed.
"Oh come on, it's not my fault you're so sensitive all the damn time." Kurt rolled his eyes as he took a drag out of his cigarette.
"No you don't get to say that after the shit you just said earlier." Kurt just nodded his head at you laughing to himself.
"Fucking hell why do you guys keep me around and invite me to your shows when all we do is fight?" you whined.
You were tired of all the arguing and yelling already. It was obvious that you and Kurt didn't get along, it was made very clear every time you and the band would have an outing.
It would get especially bad when you guys would start arguing after a show. Kurt was always stressed and tired, which made him irritable.
After your earlier question, they all just stood silent, none of them daring to look your way. Kurt though seemed to take it differently. His face softened from his once angry one as he stared at you.
Their silence was not the response you were expecting. Every second longer that it lasted was awfully painful. They'd all been like family to you and meant so much to you. They were the only friends you could depend on. And the fact that they were not rushing to tell you otherwise was heart wrenching. Even if you did think it was selfish of you to expect.
Your eyes began to well up with tears as your lip began to slightly quiver. You were embarrassed because of your reaction, feeling like a child.
"Maybe you'll all be better off with me. Seems like I'm a burden to all of you.”
You were almost waiting for one of them to say no and reassure you that they did in fact want you there. You held out hope for as long as you could, but it soon became too unbearble.
You stormed out of the room as angrily as you could, but your legs were wobbly, and looking back it must've looked silly to everyone else. But you didn't care. You just needed to get out of there, it felt like the walls were closing in and the room was beginning to swallow you whole.
Tears streamed down your face uncontrollably as you frantically tried looking for an exit. All the crew and personnel didn't fail at staring you down, making you overwhelmed with emotion.Breathing suddenly seemed so difficult. But thankfully, you found the door before you could completely collapse.
You found comfort in the bright red exit sign. As soon as you opened the door, the cold breeze engulfed your shivering body. The wind felt especially icy on your wet cheeks, but you didn't pay much mind to it. Not like you could anyway, as emotions were high.
You placed your back on the freezing brick wall behind you, making your shivering only intensify. The crispy New York breeze was not kind to you.
You were only sporting a striped sweater and some old jeans that you could never bring yourself to throw away. Your thicker layer, left in the room which you had just escaped from.
You clutched your side as you used one hand to reach into your pocket and pull out a cigarette from its box.
You placed it gently between your lips, and searched your pocket for your lighter. You furrowed your brows when you didn't feel it.
"great." you thought.
You sighed before becoming startled by the door swinging open beside you. You turned to look at who it could possibly be, and to your surprise, it was Kurt.
"Why are you here? To mock me even more?" you questioned.
Though, you were shocked to see that he didn't say anything back. He just walked over next to you and copied your actions in laying his back against the wall as well. He looked over at you, and noticed the cigarette resting on your lips.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a lighter. He flicked it on, and held it where you could see it, offering to light a cigarette for you. He knew from previous times that you never had a light on reach.
“no. none of that. I came to be a friend, because it really looks like you need one right now.
When you finally noticed the warmth near you, your face softened from its once angry one. You contemplated on rejecting his offer, but the thought of a cigarette seemed too good to pass up.
You looked at him wearily before leaning your face to the flame. You gazed up at him and noticed his stare. Your eyes met his for a few seconds, and weirdly, the warmth returned to your body. Y
The cigarette ignited slowly, and the familiar scent of tobacco filled your noise, relaxing you instantly.
His eyes never left your eyes, neither did yours. It almost made you nervous.
"Thanks," you mumbled reluctantly, and looked away. "So why exactly are you here? this isn't like you."
Kurt pressed his head against the wall, looking up towards the sky momentarily before answering.
"I just wanted to check on you, see how you were doing."
You rolled your eyes. You weren't too sure about his sudden change in attitude towards you. It was strange to see him so soft and almost gentle. He'd never shown that side of himself to you, sure you've heard it in his music but never in person.
It was almost oddly tranquil as you both just stood looking at the busy street. The sun had started to set a while ago, and the street lights were on the verge of illumination.
"Krist and Dave are in there looking for you, they're worried, you know." Kurt commented, looking over to you.
You huffed, "Yeah, I'm glad they are," your face crunched lightly, remembering for a moment hat had happened earlier, "that shit you guys did back there was fucking excruciating."
A tear escaped your eye, making his stomach turn.
Kurt dropped his head, looking at his shoves and the pavement surrounding them.
He hesitated before finally speaking. "I'm really sorry."
He almost wanted to damn his education as he couldn't find all the right words that he really wanted to say with all the things caught in his mind. He was amazing with lyrics, a genius even. But now, he really couldn't say anything.
You were surprised, never once in all your arguments had he ever apologized. And it felt genuine.
"You don't know how badly I want to believe you." you confessed.
He nodded his head slightly, but he didn't speak.
There was obvious tension, but it wasn't uncomfortable as one would expect it to be. You both just stayed there, tolerating each other's presence for what may be the first time.
A giggle from him broke the silence and startled you.
"what?" you asked, confused.
"It's nothing, it's just.. I don't even remember why we fight this much." he smiled, rubbing temples, staring at the street before him.
You couldn't help but smile back at him.
"It seems like for the longest time I've been pretending."
This time, you weren't really sure what he was trying to say.
"What do you mean?" you quizzed.
He finally turned his body towards you, arms crossed with a stupid grin.
"What I mean is, I think you're beautiful."
Heat wasted no time in rising to your cheeks, so you sharply turned away from him.
"I realized now that all this time I've been angry towards you is the cause.." He paused. Now, instead of playing scramble in his mind, he was having trouble with picking out the words to say, and he had so many.
"I really like you."
You still wouldn't dare look at him. It all seemed so sudden. But you felt relieved. Almost like a weight had been shed from your body. This was strange, you considered the idea that maybe, you'd wanted this all along.
"I like the way you think, the way you get defensive, and shit, even the way you yell. Maybe that's why I loved arguing with you."
Your heart began to beat faster with every word he let out.
"I know me saying this probably seems stupid but-"
Hello! Sorry to bother, I Saw that you want to write for Dave Grohl. Would you do a oneshot , fluffy with a bit of smut? Like they're touring together and became super friends and things got a little hotter. Thank you for your time 😘❤
You rested your head on Dave’s shoulder as soon as the vanset off. Tonight’s show got you quite tired, so you couldn’t wait to be in yourhotel room.
„Dave? You remember how I promised you we’d go drinkingtonight? I’m such a loser, I’m not able to do anything now. I’ll make it up toyou, I swear,“ you murmured with eyes closed. He laughed and said: „You knowhow long this tour is? We’ll have tens of other nights.“ You gratefully smiledand let him gently scratch your arm. Your thoughts strayed to the beginnings ofyour strong friendship. You met Dave approximately two months ago when hecalled your band to ask if you wanted to support Nirvana on their upcomingtour. They were just on the top of most music charts, so it was a big honor foryou to join them. You remember being very nervous before the first meeting, butwithin few minutes you made friends with all the members and some people fromtheir crew, but especially Dave. The bond you’ve created already in first daysof being on tour didn’t seem to tear up anytime soon. It was strange, becauseyou usually needed some time to get to know people well, but it was quitedifferent with Dave - it felt like you’ve been friends since you were born. Maybeit was because you were both drummers or were born in the same zodiac sign, butit felt great. You found a loyal and close friend in him and your partner incrime.
You listened your friend’s voices which became very distantin a couple minutes and finally cradled you to sleep. Although the way to yourhotel didn’t usually take long, the traffic was busy tonight. You got nicefourty minutes of sleep until Dave woke you up again. You found yourself layingin his lap, your head must have fallen down onto it. And honestly, you feltmuch better after this nap. Albeit you couldn’t stop yourself from yawning, however you managed to get some new energy into your body. Now you were atleast able to find your hotel room and get in the shower without the help of others. You got out of the van to the freezing night and ran inside the huge building. Bothyour band and the boys from Nirvana got in the elevator, where you wished eachother a good night and agreed on a time you’ll need to get up tomorrow morningto move to another city. You got out of the elevator on the third floor andentered your dark and calm room. You immediately took off all your clothes andgot in the shower. The warm water was really doing some magic and completelyrelaxed you and when you returned back to the bedroom in a towel around yourbody, you felt fresh again. You grabbed a hairbrush and started to comb yourhair in front of a mirror, when you heard a quiet knock on your door.
„Yeah?“ you exclaimed, letting the person on the other sidein. It wasn’t much of a big surprise when a Dave’s head appeared in the door.
„Can I come in? I don’t want to bother you, I just wanted tomake sure you are fine, you know? You looked so exhausted, I’ve never seen youlike this before,“ he cared. And you knew he truly meant it.
„Oh, I’m okay, I just needed a hot shower. Now I need to getthis hair under my control and then I will be the happiest girl in the world,“you laughed, because your hair was always giving you a tough time when youcombed it.
„I can help,“ Dave suggested and approached you and took thehairbrush out of your hand. He stood behind you and started taking care of yourhair, but you couldn’t not notice his eyes checking out your body wrapped in apiece of cloth in the mirror. The tension grew pretty big, as none of you spokea word. You saw his restless look and he knew you’ve already noticed it, yetcontinued with combing your hair. An electricity came through your body everytime he touched the skin on your neck. You closed your eyes and tried to calmyourself down, while he wasn’t making it easier for you at all. Suddenly Dave accidentallydropped the hairbrush, so a soft crash scared you a bit. You immediatelyreached for it and grabbed it from the floor and as you were standing up, yourtowel slipped down a little. You managed to catch it in the last minute, butyou felt quite embarrassed anyway.
„Sorry, it’s like as if it was alive,“ you joked withflaming cheeks. The smile was quickly gone, though. Dave’s eyes hypnotized youas he was getting closer and closer to you. He placed his hands on yours inwhich you held the hem of the towel and kept it from falling down.
„I don’t mind,“ he whispered and took possession of thetowel when he took it out of your hands. He pulled you closer and placed hislips on your neck, sucking and biting the skin softly. You ran your fingersthrough his hair and started breathing heavily. You were kinda confused aboutthis situation, but Dave’s lips were convicing you you were doing a rightthing. He slowly removed the towel, let it fall to your feet and took off histshirt. You quickly mapped his torso with your hands before he stole your lipsand kissed you roughly. As soon as his hand slipped dangerously low beneathyour butt and started stimulating the area of your entrance, you hungrilyunzipped his jeans and caressed his bulge over the boxers. All you could thinkabout was how you couldn’t wait to have him inside of you. You started to pushhim slightly to the bed and he didn’t hesitate and longer. He laid you underhim, leaving you with a soft smirk as he pulled down his jeans and boxers. Thenhe returned to your breasts and licked your nipples without breaking the eyecontact. You could hardly handle any of it, so you quietly began to plead Daveto do something with your horniness. You wanted to touch him everywhere, youwanted to feel his body as close to yours as it was possible. When he finallydecided to save you from the torture he was causing you, you breathed out hisname in pleasure. He placed his lips on yours to quieten your loud moans thatuncontrollably came from your mouth. Dave’s hips were dextrously moving, makingyou feel like you were in heaven. With his tempo wasn’t really hard to comewithing few minutes and he even speeded up when he saw you were near your climax.A long wave of pleasure ended by far the most passionate sex you’ve had in yourlife. Dave fell onto bed right next to you, pulled you to his chest andinterwined your fingers as he was contentedly smiling.
„What?“ you asked and the smile appeared on your lips, too.
„Nothing… I can’t believe I’ve just fucked my best friend.“
„Shut up,“ you gently punched him in the arm, but climbed ontop of him and kissed him long.

FLUFF
---------------------------------------------
The door slowly slides open. Light streams into the completely dark room.
You groan and turn in your bed, away from the light. Footsteps come toward you. "Kurt, you know it's no offense, but go away! I don't want you to get sick." You try to stop your lover with a raspy voice.
He stops. "But I want to hold you in my arms again. Besides, the sofa is rock hard." His footsteps settle back into gear. In a moment, he'll be standing right next to you. "And it's not particularly big, either."
"But I don't want you to get sick!"
You almost made it through the cold without infecting Kurt. He's been nursing you the last few days. Again and again he came into your room like a caring mother and asked if you needed anything. Kurt brought you tea and soups. In the meantime your cold has gotten better, but not completely gone.
Despite your illness, he often tried to lie down with you. During the night he entered the room and crept up to you. Kurt slowly lowered his body onto the mattress. But because of your cold, your sleep wasn't very deep anyway and you woke up immediately. He tried to move as little as possible, hoping you wouldn't notice him. And thus also not the deepening in the mattress.
Kurt now stops a little bit away from you, accepting your request not to come closer. For now. "I won't get sick, my love."
"Honey, it's only two more days. I'll be fine then." Your voice is weak.
It's quiet. Kurt doesn't answer anymore and you wonder if he has left the room.
"Kurt? Are you still there?"
Suddenly he's standing right in front of you. The light shines against Kurt's back, exposing his slender outline. Before that, he avoided the brightness. "I don't care if I get sick. Understand this please. I just want to hold you in my arms." Kurt's voice sounds tortured. So very tortured. He sounds like he's about to cry because his longing for you is so strong. It breaks your heart to see him suffer.
You exhale and slide to the side. "Alright, then lie down with me." You pat the empty spot next to you. "But don't complain if you feel bad later and get sick."
Kurt places himself next to you and gently wraps his arm around your waist. So gently, as if you could break at any moment. He pulls you to his chest and exhales in relief. "Finally. I've been wanting to do that for the last few days."
A soft chuckle creeps over your lips. It's sweet that he missed you so much.
Kurt continues to speak. "And if I get sick, then that's the way it is. I'll deal with that when the time comes. Right now I want to enjoy this moment."
"Then do that. I won't run away." You drop deeper into your soft pillow. "Is it okay if I sleep?"
"Absolutely. You need to get well." Kurt's lips gently press a kiss to the back of your head as he pulls the blanket over your ailing body. "Sleep tight honey."
You close your eyes, sure you'll feel much better tomorrow. Maybe it's because of sleep, or maybe it's because Kurt is lying next to you.
begging for more kurt one shots please please please <3 if it’s not too much trouble some hurt/comfort would b super cool but honestly i would take ANY kurt content lol

Summary: a fan insults you, Kurt comforts you
Words: 762
In a few minutes you leave the hotel. You hear loud shouting. Fans are calling for their idols Dave, Krist and for your boyfriend Kurt.
You are pretty sure that there will be photographers too. And you don't feel like that. They will just ask you some hurtful questions again. But the fans are no better, if not worse. According to them, Kurt is theirs alone.
Kurt snaps you out of your deep thoughts. "Our luggage is already on its way to our apartment." He takes your hand. "Shall we go?"
You exhale loudly, closing your eyes briefly to get ready for what's happening outside the hotel. "Yes."
Kurt opens the door to the room. You walk down a long hallway until you reach an elevator. It opens.
"We only have to walk a short distance. Then our car will come. I'll always be with you. Ignore everyone who approaches you." He squeezes your hand.
"It's hard. People love you out there. Me, they hate."
"Honey just try okay?" You nod and lean your forehead against his chest. Kurt combs his fingers through your hair. "You'll be fine." He tries to encourage you.
The elevator opens. You step off. Outside a large glass door, you see the crowd.
"Where are Dave and Krist? Aren't they coming with us?" You look around searchingly, trying to stall for time.
"They're in another car." Kurt pushes a strand of hair behind his ear. "You ready?"
You shake your head. "No, but otherwise we'll never get out of here." You smile in anguish.
You walk to the door, someone opens it for you. Immediately the noise doubles. You leave the hotel.
People are shouting for Kurt from all sides. But also for you. You shield your eyes with your hand, protect yourself from the flash. Kurt wears his famous sunglasses.
"Kurt, Y/N please one picture."
"Y/N is it true that you're pregnant?"
You stop, stunned. Pregnant? This is the first time you've heard this rumor.
Kurt pulls on your hand. "Love, ignore people." You nod and tug at your top.
He notices the flash is bothering you. "Here, take my sunglasses."
You smile weakly and thank him. Hand in hand, you walk past a group of girls.
A brown-haired girl grabs Kurt's arm. "Why are you with her? She's way too ugly for you. And so fat!" At this, she looks at you in disgust.
You can't believe what you're hearing. How can you say something like that directly to a person's face. You're glad to wear Kurt's sunglasses. Tears gather in your eyes. You try to hold them back, pulling on Kurt's hand. His physical contact is the only thing that prevents you from bursting into tears here and now.
Kurt tears away from the girl, giving her a nasty look. "Who do you think you are?"
He always tries to be nice. But if someone says something against you he can't guarantee anything. No matter if someone likes his music or not. He protects you above everything.
She realizes that she said something wrong. Her idol is angry with her. Her expression shows slight sympathy. She mumbles an apology.
Kurt tries to catch up with you, but you're already sitting in the car. Kurt sits down next to you.
As soon as the doors are closed and the car has started moving you tear off Kurt's sunglasses. You put them in his hand.
Tears begin to roll down your cheeks. Fortunately, the windows are darkened, no one can see you.
Kurt pulls you into a tight hug. "Don't think about what that girl said." He kisses your forehead. "Tears don't look good on you." He wipes them away.
"She's right I got a big belly."
Kurt pushes you gently away and looks deep into your eyes. "Y/N, honey, it's for other reasons. You know that. It's not your fault."
"Yeah I know." You put your hands on your stomach. "She called me ugly."
"You're not. You're the most beautiful person I know." He gently puts his hand on your belly, stroking it. As he does so, he looks so happy.
You watch him and smile. "I love you." You are so happy to start a family with him.
Kurt looks up from your belly. "I love you too." You snuggle up to his shoulder and try to forget what happened earlier as soon as possible.
Soon the whole world will know that the rumors are true.
Today is the pool photoshoot for the Nevermind album. Kurt was supposed to be at the arranged place very early in the morning. But since he had problems falling asleep you wanted him to sleep as long as possible. You woke him too late. That's why you were late for the meeting.
The car stops. You thank the driver. Kurt opens the door and gets out. He stands next to you and waits until you get out. Before closing the door he calls into the car: "Thanks again for the ride." He pushes the door shut.
Kurt grabs your hand. As you enter the pool with your hands entwined, everyone's heads turn.
"Oh, you guys made it here once." Dave greets you. Kurt replies with a tired voice and half-closed eyes. "Hello to you, too." He wants to turn before the group with you, but you shake off his hand.
"Honey, I just want to say hello to everyone. Then I'll be back with you." Kurt nods and lets go of your hand. "See you soon." He says softly and leans forward to you. He presses a kiss on the top of your head and smiles at you.
It looks like he is putting the last of his strength into it, he is so exhausted. You smile at him encouragingly and walk towards the small group.
You greet a few people individually, then you say to the group: "Kurt really didn't sleep very much last night."
"Is that why you came so late?" Dave interrupts you. You nod. "Yes, I wanted to let him sleep as long as possible. If he had slept any less, there would have been nothing to do with him today."
Dave nods with an understandable expression on his face. You smile. "If Kurt is looking for me, I'll be in the bathroom for a minute."
"I'll tell him." Dave assures you. You turn around and follow the signs pointing the way to the restrooms.
As you step back out of the building, you walk toward the group. Kurt is not to be seen.
You walk up to the small group, which consists of Dave, Krist and Kirk (the photographer). "Where's Kurt?"
Krist points with his hand in one direction. "He's lying there." "Did something happen?" You ask him worriedly.
Krist laughs. "No. Everything's fine. He's sleeping." You look in the direction. You see a white bundle lying on the edge of the pool. "He's sleeping?"
"Yes, after you left he came to us, asked about you and then went to sleep." You grin at the idea. He didn't seem to care about anything. He just wanted to sleep.
"And we don't want to wake him up. You said he was in a bad shape." You nod. "I'll go to him."
You turn around and walk towards Kurt. Shortly before him you stop. Kurt is lying on the hard floor. Only the white towel wrapped around him protects him. His arm serves as a pillow.
You see that he has no shirt on. He was apparently already ready for the photoshoot. This is also indicated by the electric guitar next to him.
You crouch down next to him. You stretch out your arm and run your fingers through his hair. A few strands have come loose. You tuck them back behind his ear.
Kurt opens his eyes and looks at you sleepily for a moment before closing them again. "Hey, are you okay?" You ask him softly. Kurt hums with his eyes closed.
He reaches out his hand and holds it in your direction. He waits until you have placed yours in his and then pulls lightly on your little hand. "Shall I lie down with you?" You ask.
Kurt nods. His blue eyes look at you. You smile lovingly at him and put the guitar aside. Kurt lifts the towel. You slide under it. Kurt pulls you to his chest. His arm lays around your waist.
His face rests in the crook of your neck. You feel him inhale your scent deeply.
It is amazingly cozy. The towel is soft and Kurt's body gives you warmth. His arm serves as your pillow. You intertwine your hands and give him a gentle kiss on his wrist.
You start playing with the cold metal of his wedding ring. You've always wanted a plain ring. Not a big diamond. Even though Kurt insisted on buying it for you. "Only the best for my wife." As he said.
You remember how excited he was when he asked you to be his wife. He was so afraid you wouldn't like the ring. But of course you thought it was beautiful.
At this memory you smile. "I love you." You whisper because you don't want to wake Kurt up again.
"I love you too darling." He answers softly with a scratchy voice. You feel his beard tickling your neck as he presses a kiss on it.
You continue to play with his ring until tiredness overcomes you and you fall asleep.
From a distance you hear Dave say: "Great, now the only one who dares to wake Kurt up has also fallen asleep."
Kurt Cobain with a soulmate au with the writing on the arm thing? like he would write random lyrics on his arm not thinking about it and the reader would be confused because none of it makes sense but then it clicks like oh this guy is a musician and why does it sound like nirvana music? or maybe the reader is an artist and would draw flowers or something on their arm and Kurt would think it’s super cute? I know I'm rambling but I had this idea and I wasn’t sure how to write it XD

You're in a small record store that is also a cafe. You stand in front of a huge shelf and browse through it, looking for new records. Soft music plays in the background to which you hum.
The bell above the door rings as it opens. You look up briefly. A lanky man with blond hair enters the store and sits down at one of the three tables in the corner. He orders a coffee from Max, the store owner and barista.
You concentrate again on the shelf in front of you.
A short time later, you stand at the counter. "Hey Max, can I have a latte? You know where to find me?"
"Hi Y/N, of course." Already he turns around and does his job.
You walk over to the tables. No one is sitting there except the blond man. He stares at his exposed arm. When he notices that someone is approaching him, he lifts his gaze.
His face is somehow familiar. You have probably seen him here before.
You sit down at the table next to him, put the records you found in front of you and look at the covers.
"Here Y/N, your latte."
"Thanks Max." You grin at him. He goes back behind the counter.
You immediately take a sip. You can't help but look to the blond.
He is writing intently on his arm. Since you sit relatively close to him you can read what he writes.
'Skin the sun, fall asleep
Wish away, the soul is cheap'
You frown. What does that mean? You look into his eyes, into those ocean blue eyes. Then you remember who he is. Kurt Cobain, the lead singer of Nirvana!
You don't want to disturb him, he deserves some peace. But you're also interested in what the lyrics mean.
"Hey sorry to bother you. I saw you writing something on your arm. What does it mean?"
"Oh, that." He points to his arm. "I don't know. It just popped into my head." He looked at you, thinking. "Do we know each other?"
You laugh. "I thought so too but no. I'm just in the store more often. We've probably seen each other here but never talked."
"Now that you mention it. You're always standing in front of all those records aren't you?"
"Yes, always looking for bargains. Mind if I join you? Only if you want to, of course." You ask shyly.
"Yeah sure. Have a seat." You settle down across from him.
"So what are you going to do with the text?" You point to his arm.
"You know I'm a singer. Do you know Nirvana?" He looks at you questioningly.
You grin. "Do I know Nirvana? Absolutely! I love them." You say. Who doesn't know Nirvana? Then you go on. "I know who you are, too. I just didn't want to be rude earlier and bother you with any questions about the band. You probably hear them way too much."
He takes a sip of his coffee and leans back in his chair, smiling. "Well, tell me your name first."
"Y/N."
Kurt straightens back up and extends his lanky hand to you. "Nice to meet you Y/N."
You take his hand. "Nice to meet you too Kurt."
"So, Y/N, I'm writing a new song." He stares thoughtfully at his arm. "But maybe I'll scrap this lyrics."
"Why? They're good. I don't understand anything, but they're really good."
He laughs. "Let's see." His blue eyes look back into yours. "You know I love writing my songs here."
"Isn't it a little risky? I mean it's a record store. Shouldn't there be Nirvana fans hanging out here all the time?"
"On the contrary. The store is so unknown that almost no one ever enters. That's why it's so quiet here." He brushes a strand of hair out of his face.
You look at him challengingly. "What if I tell everyone you've been hanging around?"
He laughs, "I don't think you would."
"Why?"
"Fans would come here looking for me. They'll see I'm not here and buy all your records instead."
You clutch your chest in mock concern. "You're right. I'd better not do that then."
"That's what I thought. Besides, I wouldn't set foot in this store, and we'd never see each other again." He waits for your reaction.
You look at him with your mouth open. "What?"
He repeats himself. "We would never see each other again."
You hold your cup. "I get that... But you want to see me again?"
He smiles. "I don't know. I like you."
You stare at him.
"Okay Y/N. I've got to go now. Give me your hand."
You obey and hold your hand in front of him.
He starts writing numbers on it. "Call me. Then we can have a date."
Kurt finishes his coffee and puts the empty cup on the table.
"I'll hear from you?"
You nod. "I'll call you."
You say goodbye to each other. Kurt joins Max at the counter and pays. He then leaves the record store. The bell rings.
You take a big sip from your cup. Kurt Cobain just gave you his number. The famous Kurt Cobain!
You call him the same day. You hit it off right away. Quickly you get together and are the new dream couple among celebrities. Nirvana fans love you, they see how happy you make Kurt.
He left the lyrics he had written on his arm in the song Dumb and didn't take it out. The song means a lot to you, because it reminds you of your first meeting in the record store.
It's summertime. The trees bear fruit, as does the cherry tree in your garden.
Kurt is in the living room working on his music. Normally you would ask him to help you pick the fruit, but you decide to let him continue working.
You stand on a small ladder. A bucket is stuck between your body and the cold metal. It is already filled with the small red fruits.
Suddenly, long fingers clasp your ankles, holding you in place. "Why didn't you tell me you were picking cherries today?"
You look over your shoulder. "I didn't want to bother you." You lean forward and grab a pair of dark red cherries, sliding them into the bucket. "But you can help if you want."
"A little distraction isn't bad." He gently releases your ankles. "Be careful not to fall."
You hear Kurt's footsteps slowly moving away through the grass. Shortly after, he's standing next to you. His gaze is directed into the treetop.
"There are many hanging over there." You point to a branch.
He sets up his ladder under it and climbs up. He starts picking the red gifts of nature. Your buckets fill up more and more.
"We've never had this many cherries before, have we?" Kurt asks you.
"This year it's really a lot." You smile at him. "You know, I think it's nice that we do this together every year."
Kurt drops a cherry into his bucket with a plop. "I love it. It allows us to spend more time together. And it takes my mind off anything unimportant." He smiles over at you.
You smile back and stretch out, stretching to a branch. "Want me to bake a cherry pie?"
"I love your cherry pie."
You laugh. "I guess that means yes." He nods in response. "Have you tried one yet? They taste like heaven."
Kurt reaches into his bucket and pops a cherry into his mouth. He closes his eyes with relish. "Better than usual. They're great."
You continue picking in silence. You keep looking up at Kurt, who is shoving individual cherries into his mouth.
"So here's no more fruit." You look at the tree top above your head. "I'll slide closer to you if that's okay?"
"Absolutely. Come to me."
You get off the ladder and put it next to Kurt. After that, you stand at the same height as him. "Can I have a kiss for strength?" You ask sheepishly.
Kurt leans toward you, his hand resting on your jaw. He pecks your lips. "Thank you."
Your gaze drops to his bucket. "There's a lot in there already. Almost more than mine."
Kurt shrugs. "I'm just talented."
You start laughing, he's so sure of himself. He grins.
Together you pick until dark. The next day, you bake the cherry pie. You invite Krist and Dave over and spend the day together.
