What a very strange turn of events (pun intended)

...and never ever the 叩き込み hatakikomi / slapdown that it was ruled to be. He didn't even touch the guy!

When seeing it in real time, it all seemed really strange and random to me. Now with the gif on repeat, it looks very deliberate on Tamawashi's part.

He stops right before stepping out, but doesn't turn back over and rush towards the center again, like you would expect him to. Instead, he leaves his back exposed, knowing damn well that Nishikigi is going to seize that opportunity to try and okuridashi him. At that precise moment, he rotates away like a fucking matador. This is genius!
