#nitpick november

Okay! Bad things are happening and I'm going to try to distract myself with some Nitpick November, so let's talk about Patch.

Patch is essentially a pit stop in Ruby and Yang's stories, it's not that big of a deal that we don't see much of it. But I think it is a bit of a missed opportunity because it would make Yang and Ruby's lives feel so much fuller if we got to see some of the place they grew up, if we got to see neighbors, the places they would spend their time, the people they've known all their lives. And maybe we don't have the time post Fall of Beacon to really see Ruby exist in that, but it would've been especially good for Yang in V4. We could've seen her and Tai in the grocery store, some older woman asking after Ruby, some twelve year old neighbor popping over the fence outside Yang's house that starts talking about the Vytal Tournament, maybe well wishers dropping off casseroles for her and Tai, an old school teacher who asks if she's heading back to combat school... Idk, I just wish that they had taken the time to establish Patch as this place Yang and Ruby can feel nostalgic for so we could get more of a feel for what their life was like.

I know we probably don't need a Nitpick November this year because RWBY's more or less officially canceled, but recently (And by recently, I mean September), I've had some more thoughts about Velvet's weapon. So I'm making a supplemental post to my previous one because I've realized it might actually be dumber than I gave it credit.

So Velvet needs to take a picture of a weapon before she can recreate it with hard-light Dust, and it's assumed that each weapon is contained in a single photo, right? But then we get weapons like Gambol Shroud, which are multiple weapons in one. If Velvet got a picture of Blake's katana alone, she wouldn't be able to use the cleaver-sheath, right? So can Velvet take a picture of the sheath and the sword and use them as separate weapons?

Let's assume for a moment that Velvet got a picture of only one weapon of a pair meant to be dual-wielded. In this scenario, would Velvet only get one weapon because she only has a picture of one, or would it create two constructs because that's how they're meant to be wielded?

In an inversion of the above, what if she got a photo of two different weapons wielded by different people? Would the box recognize them as different weapons, or would she need to use both at once?

Does she need to get a picture of the entire weapon, or does it work if she only gets a part of it? If she does need the full picture, what happens if she only takes a picture of, say, the blade of Crescent Rose?

Does she need to get a picture of the actual weapon, or would taking a picture of a picture do? I don't understand why it wouldn't. The box is already converting 2D to 3D. But if a picture of a picture works, why not just carry around magazines or photo albums?

Speaking of photo albums, how many pictures of the same weapon can she have? Can she build up a reserve of photos?

What constitutes weapons here? If she took a picture of an Atlesian Knight or Paladin, would she be able to summon them? Would this apply to Penny because she's a robot as well? If she could use them, would it treat them like Weiss's summons, or would it just cover Velvet like armor?

What if she took a picture of Yang's prosthetic arm? Would it only create the peashooter at the end of her wrist, or would it cover her entire arm?

Is it even limited to weapons? Can she snap a picture of a car and generate that?

WHY DID THEY NOT GIVE SIENNA HER FACE STRIPES.

this has ALWAYS bugged me. They look cool as fuck on her concept art and then I look at her show model which is still good and she looks fucking NAKED :( (I also like how much pointier her hair looks.)

Nitpick November Day 5

Why does James get a round table when his arc is supposedly doesn’t trust anyone and is supposedly someone who unfairly wields his power.

A round table symbolically represents an equality of power as they have no head of the table, everyone at the table are equals. Unfortunately the rule of cool overshadow everything even if it contradicts what the show is trying to say.

All this to say, this is further proof also of just a lack of planning at all and that James's turn was very last minute and thrown in for no real good reason.

Nitpick November: 1

Why are Sienna's ears orange while her hair is not orange?

Does this mean her hair is originally orange, or her ears were originally black or something?

Cinder shouldn't use a bow. Her whole thing is glass/obsidian, which for those of you who've never had a window break, is famously inflexible. Everything to do with bows depends on flexibility — the arms have to bend to store energy, the string has to bend to draw back, even the arrow bends around the bowstaff when it's loosed and wobbles in flight.

Instead, Cinder should use throwing knives. It makes way more sense and fits her aesthetic better.

I deadass forgot this existed so know it gives me a distraction.

Why the fuck does everyone speak English in Remnant?

I know. I know why, but there are characters with non American accents so that does imply the different dialects that we don’t hear so there should be other languages?

My first Nitpick November

Ok so I wanted to participate in this annual rwde thing this time so here I am!

My first nitpick from Rwby specifically has to do with Qrow's volume 7 outfit.

So first off let me start with this

His necklace and his rings. In vol 7 when Qrow got his outfit change, he gets different rings and his necklace disappears.

Like, why? Genuinely I got really upset by this. Some would think "Why is this a big deal to you?" and they would be right in thinking that. But again, this is a personal nitpick of mine, so I'm allowed to be upset by this insignificant change this month >:[

Now the overall outfit, I hate the color pallet. Why brown? And why is he wearing two different vests? And the white undershirt? Wack! The layering of this outfit just does not look right to me. Also, compared to Qrow's vol 3-6 model and his vol 7-present model, did they make his neck shorter???

I might be crazy, but I swear Qrow's neck got shorter. And it looks so uncanny to me.
